The genius of RD lay not just in his compositions. But also in his finickiness about the singer’s breath control and diction. The first two lines : kuch na kaho, kuch bhi na kaho, it is said he made the seasoned and extremely busy Kumar SanuDa record 17 times. 17 !!!! Only because he wanted a pause of 1/3rd of a second between the pronunciation of the words na and kaho in the first line, and between bhi and na in the second line. RD later joked after the recording that since he considered Tagore his God, if the National Poet of India could insist on the National Anthem being sung in exactly 52 seconds, why couldn’t a “small-timer” like RD insist on a 1/3rd of a second blip in the same breath for the first two lines of his song..
I am extremely fond of your classical renditions RahulJi, and I just took a chance and thought would I hear you out on this magical composition, but lack of these details( and there are many more missteps) jar the senses. Apologise for plain speaking, I shall still attend your concerts whenever you are in Europe with us next, provided you perform classical music for us 😊🙏🏻

वाह वाह !!! अप्रतिम !!! क्या बात है? आरडीच्या अखेरच्या काळातल्या या कलाकृतीला आपण छान खुलवलेत. आपले एक्स्प्लोरेशनही छान वाटले. प्रत्येक स्वराकडे लक्ष देताना क्षणभर वेळ थांबल्यासारखा वाटला. "सलोना सा सजन है और मैं हूं" ची ही सुंदर आठवण करून दिलीत. कधीतरी ही पण रचना आपल्याकडून ऐकायला आवडेल.

Rahul ji has definitely done a good job in this song but it doesn't mean he can replace Sanu da's voice and expressions. I don't think Pancham da would replace Sanu da with any other singer after listening to the original one.
