Great advice - using your head on the course is SO important - I don’t know many people that practice the mental game. You have contributed so much to my improvement. Thanks
I try to be mindful that every hole from certain distances may not be a “straight up scoreable” hole for my skill level. Depending on what I know my true ability & confidence is when I look at the setup of a hole, I will look for the shot option that will give me the most confidence so that I can commit to the swing that I need to make to hit a good shot. I once heard Jordan Spieth say you have to be confident in hitting aggressive shots at conservative targets.
4 par 3's and 4 par 5's. If I can play all 8 holes at +4, that leaves 10 holes left. Hopefully 5 will be shorter par 4's, pretty safe to go +1 on those. Last 5 hopefully get up and down at least once, get 2 GIR's and get get bogeys on the other 2. That's my recipe for a 70's round for me. Par 3's are the worst, especially 175+. Get on tge green in 2, 2 putt and get your bogey. Those 150 or less are where you have to hit the green and get out of there with a par or better. I will watch this video again and implement your strategies... one day... when the weather is better or I make it back home.😂😂😂 Thank you MSH
Great strategy, besides that do you play a different ball, more or less compression? Or do you play the same ball in colder weather? Thank you for your content.
Great video. Question about the 10%. Are you talking about the 10% number being your expected dispersion from a "target"? I know sometimes the flag is NOT the target.
Such wisdom! 50 yrs playing myself, 30 yrs scratch. I'm trying to convince my 40 year old son about these management tactics. He still aims at every pin but shoots mid 80s. Twice my talent! Go figure? 🤣🤣🤣
180 yds almost certainly going to be 1 to 9 index hole so why not play as a par 4 ie a 2shot hole hit just short of water and chip on take 2 putts for a 4. 4 is a very good score on holes of this length.

Great tips, I think if you use a little defense in golf, a so so player can improve there scores. I for one could use a little more course management.
You got it!
My golf ball finds that evergreen or just past it a lot! Ugh! Thanks for the advice
Thank you, Gale! That evergreen is popular!
This is the style or type of videos I really like, might just be because I think like you do about strategy lol

Yes, giving myself 10% room from wherever I'm aiming. Thank you!
Ya well, some us gonna have use the 25% rule😅
Yes, it can definitely be adjusted 😁

I've done that video, too. Depends on the skill level of the golfer.
I usually just take 9-pw and putter.
