Also, I love the selection of low-key piano jazz that you tend to use for background music. It reminds me of cozy rainy days during my childhood, when my dad would light a fire in the fireplace and we kids would busy ourselves with drawing, reading, puzzles, games, etc. This was exactly the vibe of music he would put on in the living room.

Today I thought that there's no way I'd be able to get rid of 25 items because I live with someone who owns the house so it's their stuff all over the kitchen. I went in and decided to look through the pantry cupboards and tea cupboards and I reached the goal! Unfortunately I found a lot of out of date foods but we recycle food where I live. I got rid of 30 expired foods, and donating 5 items. I can't believe that I managed. Now there's room! Thanks for motivating me!

OK - when I got home last night, I found 31 things under my kitchen cabinet that I am getting rid of. 3 user manuals for things I don’t own anymore, 1 of those can up lights that you tuck in a corner and a bunch of copper, elbows and tees left over from a trellis I made for my garden years ago. I kept them thinking “I can use those someday“. Nope, not gonna happen!

I finish my living room now gonna organize under the sink but don't have much of a mess since I organize it before
Samson is definitely "Quality Control" - but it's only because he thinks you're so wonderful that he just expects the best from you. That dawg loves you to bits! I'm still unpacking after a move recently and have just found my Instant Pot (yay!) so real meals are on their way in my home - but I have yet to decide where everything goes in the kitchen, so I've spent my time today organising and trying to get some clarity about where to put things so I use my available space wisely. It's a tiny home, so it's a feat of spatial awareness! But it was time well spent, and that's what matters. There will be many more than 25 items coming out of there once I've unpacked everything but so far I'm being brutal about editing as I unpack. This challenge is fun!

Good decluttering technique. Quick and painless. I don’t have boundaries for cleaning supplies. Except I tend to stick to basics. My general cleaners are minimal and under the sink. General all purpose cleaner, glass cleaner, homemade floor cleaner, Bar Keeper’s Friend, dishwasher cleaning tablets, disposal cleaning/refresh plinks, dishwashing liquid, dishwasher detergent and rinse aid. But, I have a collection of other specialty cleaners in my pantry. Products I’ve bought to work on a problem - but haven’t yet done it. Scratches in my stainless steel sink. Rejuvenate my bathroom counter top. Furniture water mark removers. Furniture scratch cover markers - I DO use. Rug shampoo. Etc. I need to seriously declutter those. Use them or lose them.
Same! I know I still have silver polish in a cupboard, but I gave my "formal" set of silverware to my youngest daughter and MY mother's set to my other daughter when I downsized. Guess I know who'll be getting my silver polishers! LOL 🍴🥄

My cleaning stuff is easy: Dawn dish soap and a good spray bottle. Use it straight for dishes, of course, and a couple of squirts and filled with water in the spray bottle. It cleans everything I need to clean: appliances, glass, bathroom, everything! Think of it under your sink: one bottle of Dawn and one spray bottle.
i cant stand the smell of dawn!! major migraine trigger! do they have fragrance free maybe??
@@TheCarlaProject that I don’t know but any dish soap you like best can be used in a good spray bottle with water. Your channel makes me happy, and I love your furry friend, he’s very wise and types better than my husband, haha
@@TheCarlaProject i don't know if you can buy The Unscented Company products in the US (it's a Canadian company), but worth a look! As the name suggests, none of their products have any fragrance. Been using their dish soap (only for dishes so far) and it works well and I don't smell anything using it.

Okay, hear me out, what I'm about to suggest is pricey BUT having said that, I have two dogs, consider investing in a Roborock. It vacuums floors, rugs, AND mops. It empties itself and rinses the mop. I ordered it using affirm or afterpay, it was interest free and I LOVE IT.

Oh I’m loving this series! I would say I’m very tidy but I do have an issue with my kitchen.. I really love baking so I have so much stuff I only use a couple of times a year but I still want to keep 😅
Anyways for cleaning you really only need a good dish soap, white vinegar and (baking) soda. Other then that I barely use anything else anymore because it cleans 99% of my home.
I agree, you really don't need much at all. I have ended up buying bleach and oven cleaner in addition though because sometimes the baking soda, dish soap and vinegar isn't enough. I feel like if you clean regularly you won't need harsh chemicals, but you have to stay on top of it.
i think that is so valid--the seasonal baker. just store it away. and yep that is the cleaning caddy i want. basics!!
@@madelinecadieux7636 Yes I do have an oven cleaner as well and a special toilet cleaner for a deep clean. But other then that I clean everything with those 3 items and I would say my house is very clean haha :)

I would use that jar to keep extra screws in, it's a pain when a simple project grinds to a halt because you have to go to Home Depot for one little fastener.

Funny, I am sensitive to fragrance too, but absolutely love the sweet almond oil in that Method cleaner (and the wood spray). Great job decluttering.

Today I did another drawer and found 3 dog medications I don’t need. (My place is super small, no room to even keep a secret-😉) You should make this a quarterly series. ❤

Only eight items decluttered, but everything is so much more organized *and* I discovered a sink leak that would have taken who knows how much longer to find (I keep an empty bin right below my sink because this has happened before and was “fixed”)
