Man current Wales and England teams would utterly dominate the older teams :p not so noticeable until you get to this time scale, obv still some great skill.. but the physicality etc nowadays..
Yes but they were amateurs rather than today's full time professionals. I have no doubt that the top players of the past would be top players if they played in the modern era just different players.
I was such a big fan of Terry Holmes, shame he went to Bradford, but he didn't have much playing time left with that dodgy shoulder...I remember Richard and Paul Moriarty playing as well in the 80's...does anyone know if Holmes and Moriarty ever took to the pitch together?
Fun to hear Bill McLaren commentating over someone who would later become his co-commentator. Both legends and Bill is sorely missed
Last of our proper running 10's,,great player in both codes.
Brilliant guy rugby league player president of valindre cancer centre what more can you say top man
Elite player of both codes is some achievement. To excel in the ARL says it all really.
Yeah a game that couldn’t even give him a home country team so made him play for one of the 3 countries that play the code - England
That left footed kick to touch was simply sublime!
Jiffy was brilliant, but watch Terry Holmes a true warrior.
Do any of our users remember being at this game? If so what is your fondest memory of the match?
Absolute legend

Without a doubt James, but in fairness norster, Dooley et Al must be coming up to 60 years old 😊
He has the face of an auntie or grandma lol
And the voice of a spoiled child
"What a blow for England's Full Back Chris Martin."
Chris who? Is the resulting answer based on that kind of woeful defending!
Every Welsh boy has probably dreamed of scoring a winning try on their Welsh debut against England, Davies lived it

@@raymondwigmore3789 Frankly I find it one of the worst voices I've ever heard, like nails down a blackboard.
