Scott quinell was an absolute monster this game. Probably the best ever individual performance I've seen in a welsh jersey. Also Nigel Walker's star jump when he scores lol
@17:23 When I was wearing a thinner man's clothes that pass happened just in front of me. I still remember of the place went nuts before the ball was even touched down. Lady Di was sitting only about 7-8 people to my right. What a day. I then recall drinking lots of Brian SA in the City Arms, Old Arcade and Goat Major after (it may still have been called the Bluebell then?).
(Translated to English) I was a college student at the time. In Japan, it was broadcast on NHK BS and the commentary was by Hiroshi Hibino. More than 20 years ago, it reminded me of France catching up with Serra's try and Wales pulling away with Walker's try. Walker was reminded that he was talking about his conversion from track and field athletes and the actual situation. Really nostalgic.

Quinnell was at his best in this game - coaching and RL meant he was never the same again!
What an awesome match!
Nigel Walker. Top man.
He was very quick.
Fantastic performance by Quinnel

Nigel was like Colin Jackson without the hurdles!🤪
2:07 imagine rugby where a scrum is executed less than 20 seconds from the time of the offense without tortuous TMO and resets...

If there was tmo in those days, the first French try wouldn't have been given. He clearly drops it before grounding 🤣
In slow motion his hands are still touching the ball so the try is good
@@karinthiebaud904 um no he isn't and no it's not
I remember going absolutely f*cking mental when that last try was scored - what a way to finally beat the French after 12 years!!
Awesome.. except for bearing the French! Allez les Bleus !

I was there. In that lh near corner. 😂😂
First home win for Wales over France since 1982
9:07 Shoe cleaning tactics.
9:20 red card deserved.
SQUINNNELLLLL!!!!!
And as was the case with any decent Welsh player around at that time ? Scott quinnell was swallowed up by rugby league in the north of eng
No shit Sherlock...
Is LRZ faster than Nigel Walker?
Olympic hurdler Nigel Walker? I doubt it, but LRZ has all the skills. Though he was a valuable player, all Walker had was speed.
20 years without a win over the French, well-done Wales.
12 years
@@oliprj8676 you are right but it is still a very good win
@@theric66 now Wales beat them all the time home and away
@@noodles169 you lost two weeks ago :)
