THE YARN
For both warp and weft, I used Maurice Brassard 8/2 cotton. The colors I chose are
-Olive Fonce (dark olive) (8266)
-Ivoire (ivory) (1451)
-Rouge Vin (red wine) (5115).
In the US, there are available through The Woolery website here: woolery.com/maurice-brassard-...
MY LOOM
In the video, you can see my Ashford rigid heddle loom. Its width is 32" (80cm) and I love it! If you are in the US and looking for the same loom, The Woolery has it! Here's their website: woolery.com/ashford-rigid-hed...

Thank you! Cheers! 🥰
love! how much yardage (aprox) did you use for the warp and weft?
That's a good question! I used about 1050 yrds for the warp. For the weft, I estimate it at about 650 yards. I hope it helps!
Thank you for your videos 🤗 I do have a question regarding weaving with 8/2 yarn and the 15 dent heddle, you didn't actually show yourself weaving, did you use a stick shuttle or a boat shuttle with a bobbin for weaving the weft?
Hi! I used a stick shuttle for weaving the weft 😊
Hi I got to try this. Please would you tell me how many cones of each color did you use?
Since that this is a small project, I didn't use that much yarn. I had one cone of each color and there was some left on each of them at the end 😊
Love this!! I have a question, when you are creating a pattern, how do you know you will end up with the correct colors to reach the side since you are starting in the middle? I hope this makes sense...like if you started with 3 loops one color then maybe 2 loops of another...how do you know they will be equal(symmetrical)
I'm not sure I fully understand your question, but I'll try to answer you the best I can 😄 Like you know, I like using a spreadsheet to plan my pattern. I do a lot of trials and errors before setting myself on a pattern.
In order to make my patterns symmetrical, I start from the middle and every stripe of color that I add on one side, I make sure to add the same on the other side.
During the creating process, I move things around a lot. Before transposing my pattern to the loom, I double check on my spreadsheet that all my stripes are the same size on both side of the pattern.
Also, I start in the middle when planning the pattern, but when I warp, I start on the edge.
Finally, I labbel my columns in my spreadsheet according to the number of threads that want to have in my project. This way, I know where my pattern starts and where it finishes.
I hope this helps you 😊 let me know if you have any more questions!
@@Curly_n_Yarny yes, starting in the center makes perfect sense, just wondered what happens if everything is going good then you reach the side and don't have enough threads maybe to complete the pattern..do you start all over?
Are the cotton colorfast or do the colors bleed when washed?
I did not have any problems with colors bleeding after washing them for the first time. Also, to be extra cautious and to be sure to fix the colors, I soaked the fabric into a bath of cold water, vinegar, salt and baking soda for a few hours before washing it.
@@Curly_n_Yarny super! Merci beaucoup pour la réponse! Je me lance!
Merci!
