      skateboarding is as addictive as any hard drug, approach it knowing it might take over your thoughts. as in thats all your going to want to do. everything else you do is going to be so you can go skate or get ready to go skate. if you get hurt and you cant skate its the worst . its like torture. and we all get hurt eventually

    Way to keep at it consistently. Keep going bro. Buying skate stuff is fun and one of the great things is it won't really break the bank. I mean, you could be golfing, or riding Harleys, or boating. And you know what boat stands for: bust out another thousand.

    I'm 42 now, I haven't skate since i was 10. Thinking I'll start again. And you're absolutely right; if all those people that are addicted on alcohol and drugs (for instance) would be addicted to skating instead, it would be a way much cooler world.

    I’m also addicted. I’m a bit grumpy if I really wanted to go out, but things mess up my plans
    Lately I’ve been obsessed with heelflips. I should keep up on pop shove its and maybe get into some grinds and slides, but after a few warmup ollies, I just hit the heelflips the whole time. I know I’m close to some better lands. I got a lot of footage to sift through when I decide to make a video

    Haha, i loved those ending edits.
    yeah, its quite phenomenal seeing the old footage, to you floating on up, stalling and dropping back in perfect (occasionally).
    i know what you mean about wanting to buy the things. Ive spotted a rodney mullen reissue single kick deck, and a Per Welinder. But then id need some narrow trucks and some cubic wheels. And of course whatever trucks i got, if i went high, id want to try the opposite too 🤣

    Dude, you are looking so smooth on those and you got me fired up to keep working on them! The summer heat and humidity is tough for sure and really takes it out of you. You do it right getting out early, I must prefer the slimy feel of sopping wet clothes and pads in the afternoon heat since that's when I always end up skating! Keep it going!

    • @theaverageoldguy
      @theaverageoldguy 2 місяці тому

      @@Steves_SkateXplosion Not every day. Most weeks I can get 4 or 5 days in, a couple on inline and a couple on the skateboard. I have to leave my helmet and pads out on the deck every day to dry and they get slimy as soon as I put them on, and the padded shorts are the worst, I have to hand wash them every day I skate. I wish I could forgo the elbow pads, but every time I don't wear them, I fall on my elbow it seems.

    i heard that shit, normal people have no clue. steve i really think you could grind the hell out of that quarter. you need somebody to skate with and that will help push you. when your by yourself its hard to get psyched up the way you need to be to learn new stuff. if thats to high learn a small one. i go at it almost at a 90 and make a sudden turn. you can do it. smooth up the coping if you have to. as somebody watching from the outside , i think its time to take the training wheels off so to speak. you can do it bro
