Great tutorial! This one was pretty easy to do but make sure that the paper you use is not too thin otherwise it will be a bit complicated to link all the pieces at the end. So happy I discovered this UA-cam channel!
There are several people doing really great modular origami videos on UA-cam, but yours are some of my favorites. I've made several pieces from your videos. I never have problems following along. I had to up the craft I had been doing for 20 years for a health reason. I came across your Yami Yamauchi Fireworks tutorial and it was such a fun thing, I decided to try it out. After making that, I was hooked on modular origami. So thank you for making your videos.
I just started making this one and folded 5 units so far, just for the sake of assembling the first pentagon. It really holds well, i will sure make the last 25 units. if you practice enough, it doesn't take much time either for one piece. :D
Maybe you should put when the making of modules start, assembling, and finished product time side by side in the description. like - assembling = 6:06 . would help a lot of people ;)
Hey so I don’t even know if you’ll ever read this but I’d really love to make this and would like to have the same colours. So could you please tell me where you baught the paper?
I bought from Daiso. I think it was this pack: www.ebay.com/p/Daiso-Japanese-Metallic-Chiyogami-Origami-Paper-Gold-and-Silver-20pcs-15cm-F-s/1152317111
come on! excellent and beautiful origami almost a million hahaha ... by the special subs 1000000 a full tutorial anciet dragon !! Jo like to see it Greetings from Colombia :D :)
Amazing model jo! I know you didn't design it, but the creator of it must have been very skilled! Good job! P.s can you please make videos more often? There was an fighter aeroplane you put up on your channel a few years ago, but you never taught it! Please teach it.
if you want to save on paper, you can cut your sheets in four. only caveat is that the smaller the paper, the harder it can be to fold.but you pass from needing 30 sheets to 8(7.5)
I was thinking of cutting some 19.5cm squares from a roll of paper and then diving each sheet into 9... I think if I divided 15cm squares in 5cm pieces it may be a little too small for me to accurately fold... but I'll test fold half a dozen pieces on cheap paper first anyway.
When adding new units, always make the groups of 5 units first, they are more stable than the pyramids If you form a pyramid first, then it will be harder to keep units together when making a group of 5
Francesca Acquaviva You can get origami paper in the "crafts" section of Barnes and Noble. If there's a Daiso store in your town, they have it too. I usually use gift wrap. If you keep an eye open during Christmas you can sometimes find a double sided gift wrap that is good for projects like this. Cutting gift wrap down with scissors takes forever, so you might want to invest in a paper cutter if you plan on doing this stuff a lot.
hello mister Jo. I have a question. like the model that you have made above( origami kusudama) , does this comes under the category of origami? because in origami 1 model is made with 1 paper? so is this origami or if not then what is it called?
Sooooo.... I need 7.5 sheets of 15 x 15 origami paper? WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH .5 OF A SHEET?!?!? Well I guess I could make an Origami heart which also doubles as a 4 leaf clover emblem if not folded in half....
Jo Nakashima - Origami Tutorials just you're reaction is priceless. I over complicated my comment. What I was Trying to say is what am I going to do with half of a 15 x 15cm sheet of origami paper This model is amazing though!!!

MUITO LEGAL! Adoro origami. ficou bem fácil de entender com as ilustrações ao lado.
after a long time I have been notified about a video on ur channel
hey, you could make the inverse of this as well, connecting 3 units like you connected 5, and 5 units at the points, like you connected 3.
I just started making this one and folded 5 units so far, just for the sake of assembling the first pentagon. It really holds well, i will sure make the last 25 units. if you practice enough, it doesn't take much time either for one piece. :D
I spent ages doing the first star. Does it get easier as you add more pieces?
Just made this out of 5.2x5.2cm paper :D thanks for the tutorial!
Maybe you should put when the making of modules start, assembling, and finished product time side by side in the description.

Thanks! Bought this paper in Tokyo
Jo Nakashima - Origami Tutorials do you buy all your paper from Tokyo?
I got some paper like that at my local daisu
When i saw 30 sheets i was like....WHAT THE F*CK!!
Only 30? I've done ones with 120+

BestPlayer divide 15x15 squares into 4 and divide another 15x15 to get a fifth one
BestPlayer if you use 15 x 15cm sheets of origami paper then you only need 7.5 of them to make this model if they're divided by 2
What at #2:37 which points
Cool! I like it!
could it be done in 12 units? and how will be the assembly?
mais que legal, faço muitos origamis complexos mas nunca tentei fazer kusudamas e já aprendi essa
