I just did my first couple of sessions and WOW. THIS is AMAZING! The future of exercise really is VR. They make it really easy to understand and you get such a great full-body aerobic workout. I will be doing 30-45 minutes of this 4-5 times a week. If you think that Beat Saber is a workout, wait until you try this. I came in 2nd my first session but blew everyone away in the 2nd. Yay me!
I've got this game for PS5 VR2 - it's surprisingly become my favorite game! I've done 15 workouts in the past two days, other than all the of the clothes that have had to go in the washer after being drenched, I'm really enjoying it.
I like that this app shows you leg positions to do the shadow boxing in, and switches it that's very important I play a lot of games in VR(not fitness ones) and the common thread for fatigue has been the leg positioning. Sure it's physically more active than couch gaming, but there is usually some form of body pain due to standing in a bent posture(for shooting bows/ two handing swords).
I just recently got this game on Pico 4. Absolutely adore it. I did martial arts in physical classes for a while, when I was in better shape. Things happened and now I can't keep up with a class even doing low intensity, so I just felt like a burden and stopped going. This bridges that gap, allowing me to continue my love for martial arts and build my fitness. Trying to maintain good form in my workouts. And man is it fun. I was always bad at the boxing, my focus was kicking. I just couldn't do the combos. This is amazing as it gives me visual indicators, allowing me to combo without having to constantly repeat it in my head what the combo was.
Thrill of the fight is great but it is very hard to start with... FitXR and Les Mils is great to practice your body before you can get into Thrill of the fight...
I haven't yet found a game that works you as hard as Thrill of the Fight. That's my recommendation if you want a game that will really put you through the paces. Pistol Whip and Beat Saber make for nice warmup and cool down.
There's boxing gyms all over that swear by TotF. Only apps that kept me in aerobic for long were it and the original FitXR. Unfortunately, they killed FitXR one month in for me and I haven't found a replacement. I might be giving this one a try, though.
I agree, I play all those regularly and The Thrill of the fight is the one that destroys me the fastest, it's not quite as fun though so usually it leads to shorter more intense sessions where as with Beat Saber and BoxVR I can keep up a good intensity but play for much longer. I find it's best to play a bit of both.
So happy to see this appear on the PS Store tonight for PSVR2. Pistol Whip/Synth Riders were my go to 'workout' games up to now, but the narrators/coaches in this take it to a new level. Cant wait to get stuck in, and lose a few pounds.
I've still got the OG HTC Vive, but I just picked up a cheap Quest 2 mostly to get friends into VR. Usually I play BoxVR and Beat Saber but this looks fun too, I'll have to try it on the quest. 'The Thrill of the fight' is pretty crude, but that's probably the most intense game I've played as far as cardio goes.
I have been using beat saber for my workouts for the last couple of months trying to get into shape. I have not looked at this one but my only complaint about most of the fitness stuff is the cost, some of them are a bit pricey.
Ohhh it's a workout thingy, and here's me thinking from the title it was a ahem build a patio simulator. Ah well maybe one day .......... Oops 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Great vid as always, after all that work relax with a box of choccies, 🤣🤣🤣
I ordered the pro controllers for the quest 2 and I think it was worth it. I would bet this is a game where you would see a slight boost in your scores. Not a huge upgrade but a slight boost. They are definitely lighter and there is no question the tracking is improved.
Looks fun! I've had a pretty lean build my entire life, and I've always felt like I could easily get ripped if I were so inclined. Just not really into fitness, or gyms, or fitness culture. I am into gaming though, and this looks like it might bridge that gap. I'm gonna try it!
I've been trying to convince a friend of mine to try VR. He's been thinking of getting a Wii because he remembers enjoying Wii Fit. I sent him your "Through the Fire and Flames" video to argue VR is viable as a workout. He didn't like it and says VR makes him seasick. I think I'll send this to him and see if it makes any difference. edit: There should really be ankle controllers for tracking your feet. I think this game would be much more effective if it could include kicks as well as punches.
It does include knees as part of the workout, you have to grab the target up and push it to one of your knees. Works pretty decently and actually kills me when doing workouts with those movements included. For feet tracking though, there are a few games on pcvr that use them, I have them on my Index even though I don't think they are super worth it right now for these type of games.
How is this for small, office sized play areas? I find most of my Winter workouts are in a smaller environment. Does it have much offline content? Internet is also a bit finicky at times.
Does anyone know how she is able to stream Body Combat like this? I have a Meta Quest Cable link, but there isn't a PC version of the game - I got virtual desktop the Meta Store, but you can only use it to stream PC Versions of games also. So, I don't know how to get Body Combat on my PC screen to share/stream it. It's driving me crazy I've been trying to figure it out for days.
Haven't been on my Index in a while, but I remember there was an app you could use that would let you run any and all Quest games on your Index. Maybe it's still working? Dunno.
My problem with some these fitness games as I call them, is they don't offer an "insult motivation" option. When I was younger, one of the best motivations I got working out with my cousin was when we were throwing insulting challenges at each other. "Move it, you candya$$". "Is that rep to much for you, you little pu$$y".
After Meta's $15B disaster, fitness apps like this are going to elevate VR into the right direction. I love the interactive competition. It's so motivating.
i really dont know what they were thinking with meta. i guess they didnt bother to check if it had been done before, or they figured a platform built just for VR and nothing else would be enough.
I hope you’ve changed your stance by now, they way you are moving is really off, doing it properly will help a lot with the workout. Making it more intense and really flowing through the core.
I've lost 40lbs since early February, by just doing intermittent fasting, caloric restriction (around 1,000 nutrient-dense calories a day), and not eating ANYTHING after 7pm. Now I've ordered something they call "skinny shots" which are B12/MIC shots, which supercharge your metabolism and when combined with a good diet and exercise, can help you lose weight really fast. I'm 6'4 but I was 270lbs when I started, and I'm down to 229lbs the last time I checked, yesterday. I expect to be at 200lbs within the next 3-4 months.

Thrill of the fight remains to me as the best VR workout one can get. Nothing comes close
Thrill of the fight is great but it is very hard to start with... FitXR and Les Mils is great to practice your body before you can get into Thrill of the fight...
@@furqanbangash Thrill of the Fight was killing my shoulders once. I had to pause my workouts for an entire week - That game is dangerous 😈👍
Yup!
One of the best VR workout games, I love this...

I agree. I use thrill of the fight and I have been reluctant to buy anything else. I just can't get a better workout with the other apps

This is my favorite VR workout! I push myself so hard trying to beat everyone else. Lol
Maybe it's time to steal my sons VR headset to get working out. Looks fun
Its great. And music/rhytm games are also a very good workout
the update is so good, best VR workout so far
i hope they will support mixed reality for quest 3, i can go in a large room or park etc.
It has MR. Look down at your feet and there's a toggle for MR

I just bought it and played it for the 1st time today. It's incredible!
Otterworldly needs to please show us all how to play pistol whip! You've got me hooked on synth riders which I suck at by comparison.

I've been trying to convince a friend of mine to try VR. He's been thinking of getting a Wii because he remembers enjoying Wii Fit. Wii is obsolete. A modern option is the ring fit for Nintendo Switch.
Ring Fit for the Switch is also good. And a system that isn't obselete.

Seriously want to get this but just so busy with beat saber and vr fishing, but will get it soon, and also with rl skiing. Love your videos
To bad its on quest only. Not planning to go on Meta. And i got a steam index is there a game for that is kinda like this?
Same. I refuse anything related to Zuckerberg

@@craigchatterton4164 pretty sure that still requires you to have a quest to get the games
The power strike update is fun!
To be fair you had a killer body before VR workout!
thousands of hours of Beat Saber will do that to a person
Where are the knee strikes?
How many packs are you up to now?
How long are the workouts?
similar to hitstream and many others boxing-like workout apps
Does it require subscription?
Nope no subscription required!

can you disable the coach voices and can you stream your own music on this app

@andrewslovak1 you can eat 800 calories a day and loose weight, look at the fast 800 and 500 , and the soup and shakes diet .
awesome game, awesome review. But gonna be honest really bad technique hahaha
Lucky mat.
shes quite tidy
Not my game. I stick to Beat Saber but damn are you hot!
