The video is great. But the name of the round is confusing ...but I'm just a noob, so maybe it confuses just me? SLAP round made me think of a round like a 308 SLAP or an M903 SLAP.... where SLAP stands for "saboted light armor penetrator" And this round in the video has no sabot or does it? Could SLAP stand for something else?
No matter how many times i see it, every time you cut open the magazines i wait for an "oops that shouldn't be in there" as a dirty mag gets exposed. 😂
@@PostTenebrasLux being shot at isn't nothing if shooter misses Much worse getting hit As long as people are missing they can shoot all day long therefore being shot at isn't bad Getting hit is by far way worse then being shot at
That is one impressive round - short flight time and flat trajectory on short-mid ranges so it's fairly simple to shoot, very low penetration and immediate fragmentation upon imparting tissue-like material and outstanding accuracy makes for a really decent PHD round. Thank you, folks, for making this video and marry Christmas to you ^^
The flash and fire on the first slug to the plate was most likely caused by a couple of factors. 1: Composition of the Delrin likely had a larger amount of polyester which reacted with the friction and high heat from the impact on an aluminum target causing it to catch fire(over 500C). 2: Like you mentioned, composition of the aluminum alloy likely raised surface tension and increasing the friction which reacted with the heat generated by the slug. If you can send me a sample of the slug and/or plate, I can test it for composition and tell you which it was. Dissimilar materials and bonding to them is what I have done for almost 20 years. Website/business credentials available upon request.
Quick question since we have a materials expert here: There are some molecular bond effects that will cause visible light when they happen (breaking of the bonds etc.), an extreme example would be ripping tape causing enough x-rays to be generated to actually make an x-ray picture of a finger bone. Do you think something like that could also be contributing to the flashes we see, even when a plastic pellet hits a plastic jug?
For matters of state and local licensing we are unable to sell until after the first of the year 2018. But we will be doing Holiday drawings and giveaways for a Mossberg 88 pump action fully rifled shotgun, our PHD ammo, and more. Just go online to slapshotusa.com and sign up before Christmas day for a chance at a free gun or a chance to try our ammo yourself. As soon as the ink dries on our licensing, product sales will begin and winners will receive their prizes!

I think the flash is coming from the speed of the projectile when hitting the metal. I seen the same flash before with extreme speeds on this channel but it was a plastic airsoft bb hitting aluminum plate.
Can you do a wax slug special video? You have a lot of targets now that haven't had the the wax slug treatment. A lot of your wax slug videos are pre Chronos so getting some good slow-moes would be cool. Thanks for the great vids.

I had a random thought the other day. What if you put targets / objects inside of the gel blocks while making them? Like a steel plate in the middle of gel block or something Catch the fragments and such Or is that not possible
Wesley Oliver it is possible!!! Me and my bro have done it, mostly with figure toys and bottles of liquid to see how it reacts when shot, steel plate and wood would be sweet! I think we will try it, I hope tao sees our comments and tries it!
