    I’ve made one made to measure project and I just completed my first design. I found it comes down to using fractions, I’m making an excel sheet to go with the pattern so if people are not math-savvy they can do it that way. The pattern is for lace tights, so it would be impossible to make all the sizes necessary to accommodate all sizes AND heights. It’s harder to write, but the end product is more custom and better fitting :) the process was hard, but so worth it for me

    I want to add on Ribblr's cons that they only take creditcard for payment. Might not seem like a big deal but in the Netherlands (where I live) creditcards are incredibly uncommon. I know losing out on the Dutch market might not seem like a big deal to a creator, but as someone who has wanted to buy quite a few patterns from there I hope one could keep it in mind :')

    Thank you so much! I'm planning on doing a tester call soon and have no idea how to do it 😅 this video gave me a better understanding of tester calls and I'm now confident to do a tester call!!

    For making a gauge swatch for a garment using various stitches ; how do I know which stitch to use for the swatch ?

    • @annakallajian
      @annakallajian  4 місяці тому +2

      you can use either the stitch from the pattern (which i recommend) or a generic stitch like a Dc. using the stitch from the pattern though will ensure the gauge is correct, because sometimes we have different tension for different stitches

    Thank you for this video, it really does help with a few things. Do you have any more tips on how to do size grading for more complex patterns?

    • @annakallajian
      @annakallajian  4 місяці тому +1

      ah yay im so glad! unfortunately no, i haven’t made any patterns that i’d categorize as complex. my best tip is just trial and error, and reading other patterns that use more complex techniques to see how they approached the size grading process!

    okay this might be a dumb question but because I don't think you mentioned it in the video and I would love to know: where do people find/post tester calls? I never really know where to look to find them which means I a) wouldn't know where to post them when I get to the point of having a pattern ready to test and b) can't be a pattern tester for other ppl to get a feel for the process.

      not a dumb question at all! it can be hard so i get it. to find them to test for others, try looking under hashtags like patterntesterwanted or any adjacent hashtags. even ones like knittingtester or crochetester. adding those hashtags to your own calls can help reach the people who want to test your patterns as well
