    In this enlightening interview, our Don delves into the fascinating world of quadruped robots with Tony, USA sales director from Unitree www.unitree.co...
    They explore the various models available, including the consumer-friendly Go-To Pro and the highly programmable, industry-oriented Edu version. With prices ranging from $3,000 to over $10,000, these robots are designed for a range of uses, from entertainment to serious industrial applications.
    Tony shares how their robots are versatile, capable of integrating with various sensors, and how they're programmed using AI technologies like Char GBT, making them adaptable to a variety of tasks. The discussion also touches on potential competition with Boston Dynamics, though Tony stresses their expansive product line that caters to different market needs, offering a more accessible entry point for educational institutions and other industries.
    Exciting future applications are explored, including how these quadrupeds can collaborate with drones for enhanced inspection and rescue operations. The conversation also delves into the advent of humanoid robots, aimed at alleviating manual labor and enhancing safety across numerous industries.
    As the interview unfolds, the potential for integrating aerial and ground-level robotics is discussed, painting a picture of a near future where multi-robot systems work autonomously and in coordination for a wide range of applications. The enthusiasm for what’s to come is palpable, making it clear that the future of robotics is not only promising but is already here.
    Keep an eye on us as we continue to explore the advancements in the quadruped market and work towards developing innovative solutions that bring the future of robotics closer to the present.

    I could see these taking off if they increase payload capacity, battery life, and the ability to understand complex commands. Imagine if it could carry groceries while following behind you in a store. If it had an arm module you could then tell it what to grab and then return back to you to pay. Guess that won’t be for quite a while though.

      You can do that today with the Unitree B2 and later this year with the H1 but the cost would be prohibitive for this shopping application. If this was a manufacturing or construction application, the payback would be pretty fast.

      That is a great request. We have started development of several commercial applications in security and construction. Should have something in a month. What would people like to see developed?

    • @ericwallentine6119
      @ericwallentine6119 6 місяців тому

      @@DonGarland I would like to see robots learning to emulate tasks such as cooking a meal, etc. I am in home health and having a robotic aid to help around the house would be huge and more cost effective for seniors.
      Currently, 24-hour care is over $20k per month. Should be able to lease a pretty good robot for much less. Still a ways to go . . . but robots need to replace people in these roles to bring costs down.
