Remarkable! Learning this now is great. Learning this as a youth could be game changing. There's so very little positive representation of Black people in our schools. Basically, we're taught that we were brought here as slaves (not sons, daughters and loved ones), finally got tired and a few leaders and pioneers (Dr. King, Rosa Parks and Jackie Robinson) brought us into the post-racial society we have today.
I absolutely love your videos and share them with my students often. I would love to see a video about the effects of desegregation. It would also be interesting to see a video on "sundown towns". I can't seem to find a lot of information on them.
In a roundabout kind of way Jim Crow made us rely on each and pool our resources, but look what has happened since Dr.King Rev.Jackson Rev.Al Sharpton ,all they had to do was call themselves Rev, hate to say it but we got played!!!
My Dad was born in 1926. ❤ This story is new to me and I have studied Black History since 10th grade.
