  • In this video w went foraging in South Australian pine forests for a variety of different wild mushrooms including Slippery Jacks (Suillus luteus), Laccarias and of course Porcini (Boletus Edulis).
We also crumbed and deep fried some Slippery Jacks, which tasted awesome!

Wonderful mushrooms, congrats! My only consolation is that in Italy we don't risk to get tagged by eastern browns or red bellies... hope you won't meet them though!!

The flora does not look like Mt Crawford. Wrong plant life. Really nice clip though!

@@ProfessionalStaffy you seem to be very fixated on whether or not uploader is foraging on private land or not - I know one thing for sure.... you wouldn't be taking your kids foraging on private property 😂 You also recognise forestry SA sites have been visited ... common public foraging sites.

My tip is to look under big old pine trees in the public walking trails of stirling, Crafers, etc... If you seek, you shall find. Good luck.

@@FruitsOfLife001 do the public walking trails of crafers and stirling have names or specific parks ?

@@luminousages I suggest you go for a drive around the area, particularly, old Mt Barker Rd. The Adelaide Hills isn't very big.

@@FruitsOfLife001 Thanks for sharing... we live in the hills and have been teaching our children about mushrooms too... We mostly harvest birch bolete and pine mushrooms. We went out today in the rain to that sloping place near that creek you were nearby by the look, however, didn't know where to look... up above the track area or down below that lovely old structure close to the water. Any tips you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Might have been too late in the season possibly. It's been the best year for pine mushrooms though!!!

@@lifeofintention4711 Hi there. I was out with the kids too today, but no luck. On the positive side I was able find a number cool inedible mushroom I have never found before. Were you out at Aldgate today? I think I saw a family with two boys? As for tips look under big old pine trees. If there are pine mushrooms around, there maybe porcini.
