I'm like to add a note that I significantly underestimated how much of a detriment this things hull armour would be. The result is it's actually one of the worst T10 heavies and I woudn't buy it until it's reworked.
The reason theres 5 less ammo on the conqueror is because of their onboard tea machine

It's basically an STB-1 that sacrifices mobility for even better turret armor and a 120mm instead of 105mm. They even look very similar.
Yes a heavy tank is like a medium tank but slower and more armored. And both are Japanese.
@@Paciat I meant more than that, same hull shape, same turret shape, both have hydropneumatic suspension, both have terrible hull armor but are good hull down.
The tank was supposed to be a more heavily armored version with a bigger gun. It says in the description anyway.

I loved hydropneumatic suspension on my Citroen Xantia. I miss that car.

how is frontal armor ?
does it have good dpm?
what is its alpha?
What's nice is that if you have down time between combat or you're driving into position at the start of the game, your first round will have the better accuracy saved up so you can hopefully land that first shot and start applying pressure on the enemy.
This tank will be fun to play. I think at the start of battle it will be more of supporting/sniping role unless you can get in some powerful position to hide totally. And at the second part of battle it's mobility will help it to push/finish the job.

nice it has a deppresion, it can use the STB/UDES mechanic and it has the new gun mechanic, but at the same time its armor is quite weak. I like it, i dont think it will be broken
My experience with the Type 71 in Blitz is very different since it's a different tank to here but from what can be seen from what you show us, it really is one of those tanks that once you got in a favorable matchup you definitely roll but any map that you can't hulldown or hide the hull, then you are fighting an uphill battle.
I do like how novelty the new mechanic makes the tank. That ridgeline engagement does show the poor DPM when you resort to using the cooling mechanic to assure the shots. Overall, I do feel like it will be decent in close-quarter (assume you hide the hull) and excellent sniper but can't do both as efficiently as say, S. Conq
that maybe true now but back when it was first released with the frontal armor and the mobility equip you don't even need to hulldown. you just wiggle the same way you would a T-22 and get even more bounces
The nice thing about the cooldown is that it is easy to understand and use. It makes it much more fun.

It looks pretty damn decent. Amazing dpm, good ammo selection, amazing on sniping maps and the standoff range is amazing too. Better turret armor than the super conq too

This tank is terrible. I played 50+ battles on the Test server and it's just bad. 2/5 at best. The platform is horrible.
Honestly the Sconq has a better turret unless they are shooting you from the side. That and the sconq is just more versatile as a general purpose tank, especially when you consider the hull on the T71

@@ASSASSIN19923 I mean the Type 71 is good but nowhere near as broken as the obj268/4 was at release. The obj268/4 had the armor of a good heavy combined with the mobility and gun handling of a medium, nearly as much HP as the Jagdpanzer E100 with 250mm thick "weak" points. The only thing it didn't have is dpm.
The tier 8 looks amazingly good fun, looks awesome, can't say im fussed on the rest of the line.

the Sconq will still heavily outdpm the type71 unless it decides to not use its improved accuracy as the Sconq always has its 0.33 dispersion

as far as i can remember (from at least when it first came out) on blitz the type 71 had a very strong upper plate
Type 71 in WoTB got nerfed like 5 times in testing and 1/2 times in normal game cuz it was simply too OP 😂

Dpm goes down waiting to cool down and the gun depression is hydro so in order to be at its best you have to wait for an extra 4 seconds

Man this thing looks and plays completely different from it's origin in Blitz. The Type 71 there is literally a walking iron fortress.

this thing seems like more of an Oppertunist Brawler to me, with capability to snipe in a hulldown position when possible and/or when needed.
amazing rate of fire, GREAT pen and more than good enough gun handling when close to other opponents, this thing could be a Peek-A-Boo monster like none other, taking oppertunities to shoot when enemies get cocky or when focus is on other teammates as well as when they have fired, and then retreat to a position where it can utilize the double accuracy mechanic to it's fullest, i think that is the way to play this thing most effectively.
Looks interesting. If it were faster it could be a menace on a med flank.
I like how the Wot PC version of these tanks are just lesser versions of the Blitz ones.
Let's be honest. Almost every vehicle that QB plays looks unbelievably overpowered😂😂😂. But when I finally manage to get it, ohh it is not as good as it looked in the video.
I still wish Wargaming would fix hydropneumatic suspension so that it can also tilt the tank's hull side to side as well as front to back, so they can get that extra depression over the sides as well as the front and back. Because as you can find in videos of the real-life Type 74 (the mass production version of the STB-1), that's very much ow hydropneumatic suspension works.
I think WG took Chems' (yes that Chems) idea and turned it into a mechanic, of having to wait longer to aim to get better accuracy.

Mights just get it because of its look tbh. Also love heavies with balanced alpha damage and actual weakspots when hull down. Not everything needs to do 500-700dmg at tier 10.

Tier 8 engine is pretty bad and it doesn't do well against tier 10 and plenty of tier 9's.

STB-1 is the Type 74. Pretty sure the Type 71 is completely fictional but I think its a pretty good imagination of what a heavy tank development would look like.

Serious question QB. How the hell do you get 119 fps and low 20s ping? My ping will start at around 25 then as soon as the battle starts shoots up to 150+ which is a real bummer along with very low fps. I've got a pretty decent rig and internet speed but it's driving me nuts. HELP!

I think this tank is what all tanks should be: very strong in some area so there's a reason to play it, but it's balanced by some very bad values.

This thing will be the best tier 10 techtree HT yes and no.
If you get in Malinovka, Prokhorovka, El Halluf, maps where you can stay hulldown or you need to snipe, it is the best.
If you get in Ruinberg, Highway, maps where you need to sidescrape, it sucks.
Consider the current map rotation and how the meta is working, this tank is surely not the new meta tank, but it can work, just not as often as the S.Conq or even the E5.
The Type 68 at tier 9 is actually a very good tank and it's better tier-to-tier compared to its bigger brother.
Think it is very strong in comparision with the other heavies at t10. Mayby a bit to strong. But otherwise is the gun trash, is you use the full dpm. So the tanks gun is mayby in the most situations worse than the gun of the S. Conq. But I think that should be a better advice that the gun is fully accurat. For example a sound or another visual effect. It would be also interesting to know, if the gun has only the accurate and the unacurate „mode“ or there is enything between it. If you do not shoot instant after the reload but do not wait for the full cooldown (wait for example 10 secounds between the shots).

In the hands of a good player it looks like it’ll be quite the good tank. Hull armor is about the only thing that stands out as an issue
get your crew Armorer skill and you'll get more accuracy with damaged gun than normal healthy gun before cooldown!

I was looking at the model for that yesterday, it looks absolutely amazing, more exited about that, than anything else in the tech tree.
If you want to use the strong Type 71 tanks, play the lesta Ver of WoT. Because the lesta Ver of the Type 71 is close to the Blitz version, and is armored enough to at least fight on a flat surface. And you will be reminded how much the WGs running EU/NA/ASIA are reluctant to balance the game and how much lack of coordination is evident.
I've tried to play this Type 71 in the last test server and the present one, but I cannot understand why the double aiming system never works for me. The cooling down system does not work. I never get the 2 aiming dot's, it simply aims and fires like any other tank. Am I doing something wrong? are my settings wrong? I just do'nt get it!!! ☹

i already see my crew from type 63 being switched in tier probably 9 type 68..the main reason is tiers 10 drains a lot of credits:D but this is not the tank for avarege players, every battle must be calculated.

accuracy is the most important thing to me, because i cant affort gold ammo and i have to be able to shoot very precisely. If this will be top of the tree for january im gonna try to get one of this beauty, do you think this will be tott

This is absolutely going to be god-tier on Frontline and other maps where you are dealing with long-distance shots and lots of hills and places to get hull-down and stuff to hide behind. Close-in like on a map like Himmelsdorf? Just expect to get exploded first. lol.
I was hoping for the Type-74 to join the ranks of the Japanese Tanks, Its a Heavy tank with a 105mm and hydropneumatic suspension...I was embedded with the Japanese Ground Self Defense Force back in 2014 and they can put these tanks to their limits for sure
STB 1 was a prototype of the Type 74 so the tanks would've been even more similar.

QB, firstly thank you for the video! Very interesting seeing the new tank. Secondly, what you say around the 14min market, is exactly true of rhe Kunze. I know we've briefly talked about it in chat but this tank, is literally a heavy kunze. You have the DPM when you need it, and the accuracy when you need it. Maybe it'll help your games in it!

yea.... double aim mechanic is great job done by WG, you see load of them camping red line sniping in their Type 63, truly great job....
That hull armor is tragic af, the mechanic is good, like 3 years ago I think of this kinda mechanic on the game, and wg now have it, good job for wg to make some creative tank playstyle, still, that tragic hull make the game very rigid on gameplay, well at least as a heavy.
The tier 8 looks like the crown jewel of this line. The tier 10 looks like a turd with that hull armor that's softer than melted butter.
So he need dpm or turret armor nerf. For -12 pay with something.

not that OP, this is the good kind of OP imo, if you play it right it has an amazing turret but your hull must also be pointed in the same way otherwise you only have 7 degrees.
Likewise it would be very easy to overexpose the hull and then t8 can pen your upper hull.
I’ve got the type 63 and honestly, it became my favorite tank in a blink of an eye. The weird playstyle that differs from every other heavy tank just hits the spot for me. If you have the opportunity, you can sit hulldown in front of the enemies, shoot your 290 HEAT ammunition and slowly dismantle the enemy tanks. Out of HEAT? no problem, just wait for the mechanic to kick in and hit EVERY SINGLE CUPOLA and weakspot that enemy tank has with 95% accuracy. Battle going arye? no problem, fall back behind a bush or take a cover behind a rock and SNIPE with accuracy comparable to Strv…. Ofcourse, situations where enemies just push through and kill you in seconds because of no hull armor happen from time to time, but I am doing well at avoiding those as much as I can. All of this combined with it’s mobility makes it one of the most versatile tanks in the game currently. Even tho the new tier X has a cupola and not so great premium ammo, I think I’m going to like it a lot.
PS: I’ve just realised that I made a short tank review on Type 63 under the wrong video but it’s whatever.
Buff the upper plate armor, and side armor. The tank has weak spots already, the entire upper plate does not need to be one.
And nerf lower plate so it's not auto ricochet. Also, orzanel had a good point, that the hit to your dpm in exchange for accuracy should probably be mitigated by give the tank higher alpha and higher reload time, match or slightly lower current dpm but allow you to make use of accuracy at less cost.

that game 2 was simply a horrible misplay. showed the weak areas of the vehicle but also shows the weak areas of the player as well. no good player would push into that position at that time.
