  • !! Don't do the breathing exercises in a swimming pool, before going underwater, beneath the shower, or piloting any vehicle. Always practice sitting or lying down in a safe environment. Tinnitus symptoms may appear as a result of pushing too forcefully during the breathing exercise. If this happens, take a step back in your future practice, it’s important to increase gradually, not forcefully !!

Testimonial. I started with meditation to manage anxiety, and that led to breath work and that led me here. I have been doing the Wim Hof breathing method for a month now and it has gone beyond just managing anxiety, it has eradicated it. I highly recommend doing the cold showers daily, even if you can only stand it for a minute or two it's been a game changer. So many things now seem possible.

I struggle with occasional waves of intense anxiety that can prevent me from working and living my life normally. This breathing technique is one of the best tools I've found to combat the anxiety. It always helps to clear my head and bring my awareness back to my body, instead of whatever I'm worrying about at the time. Although it has not eradicated mine completely, it never fails to help when I need to calm down. I'm glad to hear other people have found similar benefits.

I wake up, drink a full glass of water quickly, exercise on treadmill for 30 minutes, do some minor light weight lifting, then take cold shower immediately after. I have struggled with major depressive disorder, adhd, and autism all of my life. These conditions usually have me bed ridden and suicidal on a regular basis. Today, I was suffering with a particularly strong bout of depression, overstimulation, and hopelessness when I decided I would try to do this breathing method and take a cold shower. Before I did it, I was feeling tired, hateful toward myself, and overwhelmed with life in general. After this exercise was over, tears started falling out of my eyes and I began to feel real emotions for the first time in a while. It’s almost as if those tears were stuck behind a dam of sorrow and fear, begging to be let out. Once I did this exercise, the dam broke and it felt wonderful. Thank you so much for creating this video and this technique ❤

All guys have had nights like these: Go to a party, already in a bad mood, trying to socialize, unable to really connect to anyone, get pissed of at yourself and the world, get hammered, try one more time to socialize, go home hating everything. After a night like this, before I would go into my depressed fuck-the-world routine (weed, porn, watching random shit on youtube) I did wim hof breathing. And boy, it really saved me from going to the dark place. Instead, I cried for like 2 minutes, got up again and suddenly felt how benign these issues were compared tot he fact that I’m alive and breathing. Then slept like a baby.
I enjoy many different practices to find my balance like yoga and meditation, but what I feel is unique about WHM is that it works ALL THE TIME, irrespective of your current mental state. Love you Wim for teaching me this!

I'm 18 and in the darkest place I have ever been, a darkness that I didn't think was possible before, but is very common in basically all of my family. Before my nervous breakdown, I was very academic, I worked out a lot, I was very disciplined and was trying to develop my skills and educate myself. Then this hit and I believe I now know what suffering feels like. This has been a very humbling experience and one of great teaching, teaching me to be more compassionate towards others, because you truly never know what they're going through. Establishing a solid morning routine of movement, Wim Hof breathing and a walk acts as a glue holding my life together. Every day is difficult, but reading everyone else's experiences gives me hope that such suffering is not forever and happiness is possible again. Thank you Wim and thank you to everyone in the comments, what a community. Anyone reading this, I'm wishing you the best ❤

You are very young really, and much love to you. I am exactly twice your age and have been through a lot myself. But yeah, wim hof and breathe with Sandy are really the ones that changed my life, apart from Sadguru. These helped me with stress, mental strain and anxiety. If you ever feel stuck or low, just listen to sadguru even if you don't feel like it. If things aren't working out listen to Neville Goddard.

When I was a child swimming alone in a pool, I came to the conclusion on my own that we actually can hold our breath for such a very long time. It wasn't even uncomfortable. It felt natural, like I was a fish in a former lifetime, or perhaps remembering back to the womb. Very amazing technique that I will start to incorporate into my bedtime routine. Thank you. ❤
