I love my Alberg 30 but the one thing I'm always doing is zooming in on other Alberg 30 videos trying to figure out how other owners are utilizing the very limited space we have on board. Thank you for talking about "one of your absolute favorite subjects" :-)

It’s definitely a challenge and like I said always a work in progress but I figure if we can do it on an Alberg 30 than we could do it on any boat 😁

Awesome tips Gwen and Andy! Love the idea for a his and hers locker of their choice.

My Alberg 30 is 1967 (#223), and I have to say you have an incredible interior paint job and teak varnish! Probably one of the top few A30 interiors afloat. I have a few dozen spots in my boat where I get "brown bleed" from the underside of the cabin top and deck. Not sure if it moisture oozing out of the laminate (getting its color from the pegboard masonite core), of if it is diluted uncured resin (after 55 years). It used to gross me out, but now I just wipe it off with a damp paper towel when it appears. Not sure I want to sacrifice a season to try and redo the underside of the deck (or pay what it would cost to have someone else to do it). James Baldwin does some amazing interior refinishing on A30s and similar boats, but I have no idea what it costs.

Thank you so much! It’s a labor of love!
We also had a bit of the brown bleed you are describing and we never really figured out what it was from. It has since stopped, and I don’t remember seeing any in the last two or so years. Sorry not to be of more help! Maybe ignoring it will help you too 😁

One thing to keep in mind is if you use all of your spaces then airflow is reduced and if there is condensation mold may start appearing. This has always been a challenge on my smal boat.

That is a really good point! We were having that issue in our shoe bin in the hanging locker, but once we figured out that leather was a TERRIBLE idea on a boat and got rid of a few thing we haven’t had issues since. We also have a regular cleaning schedule where lockers are emptied and wipes out with diluted vinegar. So most lockers are emptied and cleaned at least quarterly. Our clothes lockers monthly.
We will certainly be putting all this to the test this summer as we will be in Maine which is notorious for condensation. ☺️
