    Every Sunday we release a new video of us sailing around the world but here is another video of the top 10 small items for your boat (apart from the obvious bigticket items and safety gear!
    If you have any questions, ideas or advice for another video, please let us know in the comment section below and we will make another video! We had a lot of fun making this!
    1:24 Macbook 12v Charger
    The perfect charger to charge any of your larger electronics though USB-C through 12v without having to turn on your inverter saving lots of power on your boat house batteries. We bought this to charge our 15" MacBook Pro Touch Bar and works flawlessly!
    amzn.to/364aGUs = 87w version
    2:11 The Best Water Shoes
    We have gone through a couple different shoes and these are by far the best we have come across due to their versatility. They are so comfy to wear kicking about the boat and best for swimming to shore, running on the beach, hiking with Jackson and look just like a normal shoe we can even wear into town! Not on Amazon, but they gave us a 15% off code to pass forward to you guys!!! :)
    bit.ly/2XfhYBH = Aleader Shoes
    Enter "SUNDAY15" at checkout for 15% off
    3:40 LED Globes
    The first thing we did back in Malta was replace all the interior globes to LEDs saving 3w per globe. I have just now recently swapped over our navigation lights and anchor light to 4w globe from 10w. We also have a dimmer LED strip light for the cockpit for sundowners out in the cockpit creating that perfect ambient lighting. For back up, we have a solar powered LED light.
    amzn.to/2R7bnbm = G4 Interior LED Bulbs
    amzn.to/2G8NYzH = BAY15D Navigation LED Bulbs
    amzn.to/378FqVF = Cockpit LED strip lighting (Non-Dimmable)
    amzn.to/2tyUxsG = Cockpit LED strip lighting (USB - Dimmable)
    5:57 Mr Funnel
    Twin filtered funnel, say no more!
    amzn.to/367l11C = 12 Gallons / minute
    amzn.to/2G3FBFM = 5 Gallons / minute
    7:37 GoPros
    We have the old GoPro 3+ for the more basic dangerous stuff where we may break or lose it, but for everyday filming we use the GoPro Hero 7 Black. As explained this is probably the best camera we have. GoPro have just introduced the Hero 8!!!
    amzn.to/2tvmyS4 = GoPro Hero 7 Black
    amzn.to/30AI1W0 = GoPro Hero 8 Black
    9:26 The Perfect Bags
    From duffle bag suitcases with wheels and a handle to camera bag, waterproof bags and Pet bag, we have it all covered with the best backpacks for living on a sailboat. We walk a lot carrying various items for miles, so bags are something we know a thing or two about!
    amzn.to/377wHmB = Small bag on wheels
    amzn.to/2R7tpKD = Large bag on wheels
    amzn.to/2G226eb = GoPro Seeker Backpack
    amzn.to/36aIKhr = GoPro Cheaper Alternative Backpack (DeKasi Backpack)
    amzn.to/2NFz8VD = Backpack rain cover
    amzn.to/2G22SI7 = Waterproof Dry Bag
    amzn.to/37a2BPs = Pet Backpack
    13:32 Toaster
    This toaster will cook the perfect piece of toast in 30 seconds! This little invention is Unbelievable.
    amzn.to/2FZt3PP = Camping Toaster
    14:18 Powerbanks
    Everyone will have one, but you should have a dozen. We charge all our powerbanks up during the day while our battery bank is at full charge from the sun, then at night recharge all our camera gear, phones and iPad again ready for the following day!
    amzn.to/2RHQKBJ = 10,000mAh powerbank
    15:23 iPad with RAM Mounts
    We have paper charts, 2 navigation units onboard but we use our iPad as our primary source of navigation with Navionics. We have it permanently mounted at the helm with RAM mounts. I did lots of research before moving onto the boat and this RAM mount is probably the most important item we have bought.

    Nice! Will get those shoes for me and Bi. Also, quite impressed by your reversing skills. Artemis has this epic prop wander, pulls to port heavily. To yellow to put speed in for the rudder to take effect...how did you learn this?

    • @SailingSunday
      @SailingSunday  4 роки тому

      Mikael Reichel thanks 😊, we have bad prop wash also but I just point the nose 45 degrees to where I want to end up by the time I can steer. That initial turn between the pontoons was all rudder, no steerage. I have some guys called “Pro Sailing” in Malta to thank for teaching me that! Lol 😁

    • @SailingSunday
      @SailingSunday  4 роки тому

      Yes they are good too, out of our budget though, we can only recommend what we have, we've tried a couple different water shoes but these ones are our best so far, very light, comfy, grippy and flexible running around the boat, drains the water instantly and good price 🤙

    Thanks, going to try that one and aim for something cheap. You then gave enough power in a burst to have rudder action?

    • @SailingSunday
      @SailingSunday  4 роки тому

      Mikael Reichel yep! I pull up out of gear slowly drifting to a stop turning 45degrees and while almost stopped (depending on wind etc) at about .5 of a knot, thrust it in reverse to stop completely and start moving backwards to 1.5 - 1.9 knots. By the time I hit 1.9 knots I’m heading straight down the middle of the pontoons with full steerage 😀

    • @SailingSunday
      @SailingSunday  4 роки тому

      I see people go in forwards and just pivot reversing right out front of their slip, but I guess you really have to know your boat and be really good at it, but I would rather be completely stress free having full control before entering being surrounded by millions of dollars worth of boats!!! 😂😂😂

    Do you connect your IPad up to your sensors - wind, depth etc? If so how? Wondering if I can replace my old navigation system with one centered around an IPad or Android Tablet.

    • @SailingSunday
      @SailingSunday  4 роки тому

      We don’t actually, it would be nice. We use it for our main navigation as it’s new and updated easily and regularly. The iPad does give us an exact speed every second from the gps in the iPad which is great but our main chart plotter is also always turned on showing a speed and wind also and we keep that one zoomed out so we are always looking at 2 charts.

      Hey Walt,
      My apologies, we are on land in the boatyard at the moment doing repairs with limited internet... Its taken me this last hours just to post this lol!!! I bought it on amazon, the lifeproof cases were so expensive and this was only about $30-$40. It all clips together really well, there is this small rubber seal which is obviously needed to be 100% waterproof but it made it hard to unclip and clip all the time, so I took it out and its still very waterproof/resistant (I assume just not submergible for a long period of time). but definitely worth the money! I would rather buy 6 of these than 1 expensive case!

I'm setting up my newly acquired boat for New England sailing this summer and have the same question regarding the iPad case. Look forward to the link when you can provide it. Very Useful indeed! I have an iPad generation 8 on the way and have been on the phone with Ram Mounts more than once talking about their various mounts vs. cases and so forth. Good Morning, at least it is for me. 😊🙋‍♂️☕
    I'm curious about the laptop charger. How long long have you had it on the boat?

    • @SailingSunday
      @SailingSunday  4 роки тому

      Mike Barron Hi Mike, that’s my newest item, we had it for about 1 month now. Because we are editing videos all the time it’s probably used 2-3 times a day. The laptop pulls about 6-8amps the inverter uses 2-3amp. So for about 2-3 hours per day we save on running the inverter so it really helps because some days we have even forgot to turn the inverter off which just adds to draining the batteries. No need to worry anymore with this little gadget though. I would have got the 60w version but was sold out when I went to order, so bought this one 87w one instead.

    • @mikebarron5805
      @mikebarron5805 4 роки тому

      @@SailingSunday Thanks for the response. I'm interested in a charger like the one you have for use in my boat and was checking to see how well it was standing up to the task. My yacht these days is a 15 foot aluminum canoe that I use for up to 2 week trips on rivers. 😎 So not up to your level but then you haven't swamped your boat in white water, yet. 😉 😁
      FYI, asking a teenage granddaughter to leave her phone and tablet at home is worse than telling them to SSSSSH!!! 😲😳😂
      🙋‍♂️

    • @SailingSunday
      @SailingSunday  4 роки тому +1

      Mike Barron haha, yes I can imagine, electronics run our lives now especially teenagers!!! 😂 Oh jeez, no hopefully we won’t do that anytime soon! It works really well, the 12v plug will eventually rust out (they always do) there’s no way around that living at sea. I’ll just have to cut it off and attach a new 12v plug at some point. The box itself is pretty sealed up and appears to be glued together quite sturdy so no complaints there. It has a USB plug too so we usually charge the MacBook and GoPro or phone at the same time and still works well.
