Great video! As a newly graduated health professional, I think it's really interesting to be able to communicate well on the subject you want to advocate for. This video talks about NSSI but it can really be applied to pretty much any other subject (ex: eating disorders...).
Thank you so much for this video, it'll help me be more careful about what I say and do IRL and on social media (I'd like to advocate for NSSI and eating disorders some day😁)

I think these are good guidelines. I'd don't have any issues with any of them. I'd have to think for awhile if I think any more are necessary.
I also wanted to say that I've been called a "cutter" by many, many therapists and it's always rubbed me the wrong way.

I knowwwww it's so annoying, especially if you don't actually cut but you can still do damage. I used to be called a cutter and I was so distressed by it

I recently have found something to distract myself from self harming- instead of self harming I’ve been just taking a red gel pen and drawing on my wrists/hand/legs- I do do it a lot though and I try not too do it to much but it’s better then self harming

I was in the ER for 4 hours today and had to talk to a crisis counselor for opening up about my self harm

So sorry you've had to go through that :(. And I'm sad that our mental health system works like that. Too many people who self harm are advised to seek help, but we know if we do that we will be sent to the ER or to inpatient. I know personally that getting sent to either for any prolonged period of time would be the death to my job and grades, which is the same reason why so many people keep quiet about it. Hope you're doing well.

don't beat yourself up for it (both figuratively and literally). be proud of yourself for not committing to the act for so long and be willing to stay on your recovery journey nonetheless
