Indeed. The notion that the NBA would not want to sign a player - let alone BAN them outright (lol) - _because they are "too good"_ is one of the silliest stretches of irrationality I've read all month.
Lol yeah. Clickbait title. The reality was he was still a struggling developing player when the 76ers drafted him, and this video even covers those early years of struggle. I’m hindsight now he seems like a great player who probably should be in the NBA, but that wasn’t evident at the time.
@@shaft9000 your stuck on the word banned. No they didn't ban him like they did McCants cuz McCants attitude was garbage. This kid was stashed in Europe by the 76ers that part isn't up for debate its facts.
I actually quite like the fit on OKC. I've been saying for a while that we don't have a great backup PG to slot in for non-Giddey minutes, and I think his high IQ passing style will be pretty familiar for the guys we already have and can lead to high percentage touches for Shai, J Dub, Joe, and the other guys when Giddey isn't on the floor. Bonus points that he's able to score efficiently as well. Shooting has been a weakness of Giddey's, so I'm hopeful that Micic can help shore up that weakness at the 1
Reminds me a bit of Luka, without the post game and a worse handle. Unfortunately I don’t like the fit with him on OKC. I completely agree with you on changing that rule that kept him out of the league.
No rule kept him out of the league NBA has recognized rights to foreign players as assets this way for a long while. Dude was drafted in 2014 and was not a big time baller then but had 6 years to make his way to the NBA by joining the Sixers before OKC got the rights to sign him.
@@Kermit_T_Frog OKC is not about size but more shooting and savvy players. He fits right in to that concept but you are right they have plenty of similar size guys already. If he is a stud then great maybe they trade somebody else and if not he didn't cost them much
If he really is that guy like he is saying he is he’ll make his presence known and work his way into the rotation until okc are able to either trade him to get assets for him or trade other players to let him become who he should be
As a Bulgarian, I have to mention Sasha as a better player than Micic. But I can't do it. Vezenkov is an amazing catch & release player who can easily make you 20/7/5 per game in the NBA. But Micic is just the complete player. He's a truly efficient player, as he can play both PG and SG. An insane playmaker who also can shoot deep 3s. He can effectively rotate SGA and Giddey. And that costs OKC just $23 over 3? That's a steal. Micic has the potential to be the best 6th player, and also become a starter at another team. I'm a Heat fan, and this dude can unlock our offence. A much better option that Herro, whose next year salary is bigger than this guy's whole contract.
You have a point however Sasha has one of the rarest qualities in basketball and especially in the NBA, he does not need the ball. He can go through the entire game with 15-20 touches, 2 dribbles and give you 15 points and 8 rebounds in the NBA. Micic on the other hand needs the ball and the entire team should be rotating around him, and this is not going to happen in OKC or in most other NBA teams. Had they prepared a team for him as they did with Luca he would have been a star or close to it. If they just give him some time in the rotation surrounded by other ball dominant egocentric guards such as the hundreds he is going to find in the NBA he is going to go unnoticed and back in Europe before next years playoffs. Sasha on the other hand is possibly not going to be a superstar, but if they only give some little respect he is going to be an amazing role player with 15-20 pts and 8-10 rebounds that all the point guards are going to love as he is not going to take away their precious ball and convert their passes into assists...
@@vasilisantonopoulos9326 Btw, Sasha has one of the quickest releases in basketball, I think. Given he's 6'9, it'd be very hard to contest his shots. If he's on fire, he can easily get you 50% from downtown on 6+ attempts, and can average way more than what he had in Olympiacos, as he'll have more space. So, we can see him at around 50% FG and 40% from 3P.
I think the NBA All Star Game should the best NBA 12-15 players vs the best 12-15 of the world. I think that would raise the level of competition or give the game more incentive.
It’s not possible to give them a good enough incentive to make em play hard most all-star players make like 30 million a year what could they possibly give them to make em risk their whole season for one game
@@TMPOUZI I hear ya but then they’d meaning U.S.A would get annihilated because the rest of the world is hungry as noted by the top players in the NBA. Btw I think the rest of the world should be mostly outside of the NBA talent not just NBA talent.
I would love to SEE him stand up to the challenge! In this 27 minute clip, to see how he has PUSHED himself to the level and throw himself into the challenge would be very interesting to see! It would provide an excellent challenge just as it has for other Europeans players WHO DIDN'T get the chance to play for whatever the reason's were. Purely from the stand point of a baller, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE COMPETITION!! May I add: A baller is a baller, Basketball is a universal GAME!
@@acpliego more likely, he will be 6th man leading 2nd unit for OKC. Furthermore, OKC will use so many different lineup that Micic will be tested with different players on the floor as well. I believe he will be very good with some guys from the first unit like Chet, J-Dub or even Giddey.
Not doubting he might be a good player in the nba, but him being banned from the nba is a total play on words. If teams have a high value prospect they will always retain that player especially in rebuild mode. Here's a direct quote on why he has not played in the NBA, "I think there was hesitancy to give up what would be your whole midlevel (exception) if you were a tax team for a guy who, you’re not sure how he fits,” on NBA general manager told Heavy Sports. “Most of the good teams, they’re tax teams this year. So you’re using your best chance to improve on a guy who has some risk, a lot of unknown. I think the Clippers’ experience with (Milos) Teodosic fed into it where a lot of teams said, ‘We don’t have much to spend, we can’t afford a mistake like that." If you couple that with the fact that he wants to play with a contender team and not a team rebuild you can see he simply has not found a proper fit even with OKC as he will be a sixth man with Giddey as starting PG.
Anadolu Efes actually won a European title, in 1996, when they were called Efes Pilsen (beer brand, forbidden by the government) a FIBA Korać Cup. Altough not a top tier competition, it was the first European Cup ever raised by a Turkish sports team.
What a joke. If dude was actually half as good as u say. Okc would have brought him over quickly. Sga and as u say a great player. Obviously he's probably not nearly as good as u say. Jokic is amazing. Doncic does literally the same thing every possession. Anthony Edwards locked doncic down in the play in game. This guy looks ok. But he's never played against real NBA players.
Other point is that if he was so good, then the Sixers should have brought him over in 2018-2020 when they've been one of the top teams in the league so the Sixers having him for 6 years before trading him to OKC being all about tanking isn't 100% accurate...the tanking years ended in 2017 when they became a 50 win team, i.e. 2014-2017. Therefore if he was TOO GOOD as you imply they should have brough him over from 2017 onwards but they didn't so I would certainly hamper expectations for now. Reminds me of when Anthony Parker (former Euro league MVP) came and played for the Raptors. He was a solid role player but never became an allstar caliber player. Based on footage of Micic I think similar expectations should be in line.
Last point is that Zach LAvine is likely the best Guard from the 2023 draft class, for full transparency you can't overlook Lavine although he does pull SF too so might be why he wasn't mentioned given Micic is more of a pure PG vs. SG/SF.
so he wasnt banned technically but was stashed away strategically since OKC was tanking and in the process. and now since the time is ripe, time to unleash the beast lol
I feel like he could make some buckets. But NBA is a different beast, I don't see him being a star. Because of his physical body and lack of defense. He's also smaller and not a knockdown shooter really. He's streaky and I feel like going up against these athletes in the NBA. That will be much harder, keeping him from being able to score as well. The other problem will be playing time. I'd like to say I see him sticking, but I'm not sure he will. I'd like to see it and will be rooting for him. Anyone that works that hard definitely deserves a fair chance. I hope he gets that chance in the 2nd unit early on to get a real feel of his potential. Certain matchups will be key to his success. As long as he isn't going up against a freak athlete, maybe he will have some good game's. You never know with the NBA and the best are usually the bigger player's. Europe has definitely gotten the best player's lately and I absolutely love their loyalty as well. I only wish my Pacers could get some of these guy's.
i have been holding to say Congratz from moving your talent away of only Ball family topics. keep it up and nice topic! We all hope that Micic impact to be a good turn for OKC franchise.
! DKM....hmmmmm. well I love your content but DKM is also MY initials for my national radio show and my record label Digital Konfusion Mixshow and Digital Konfusion Music. So we both share those letters !! I support your content! Keep up the good work
European players are better because Euro leagues were more physical so Euro players were used to that. And then they get to the NBA where it's less physical and they go crazy. After Jordan left, the NBA kept making the league less physical with rules changes so they could have more offense and more offensive stars.
Man, OKC is going to be a force this year. Another Euro guy I love is the Spanish team's Santi Aldama. I was hoping my Pacers would pickup Willy Hernangomez as well.
Name the last Euro player to play any defense at all. Im not talkin Embiid or Giannis, they are really Africans. It's alot easier to run offense in Europe than the NBA with stronger more atheletic players with top NBA defense. Hell even guys on the playground in USA can look like allstars because there is no real defense on the playground. Even I have a great games cuz I know no one is going to stop me if Im super agrressive. It's the defense that makes the difference thats why NBA coaches preach this more than offense. He will be a descent player, but a bench player for sure. Lets get off the high horse here.
we have best players reppin', eastern euro, mainly ill just say former Yugoslavia but since it wasnt me or couldnt be () im still and have been waiting, hoping, wishing and all else for that one stud to come here to play in the NBA with the country listed /drafted from/born/etc.. be my home country, the old country, that one country brother to the other country . . . The SLOVAK Republic aka SLOVAKIA !!
Stumbled across this video a couple of weeks back, came back after pre-season just to say that no way he's the best point guard in that draft class. I don't think he's even better than Jordan Clarkson. His playmaking has been unreal but need more from other facets of the game. Maybe his shot will fall as the season progresses. 7-8th man on a young OKC team at best, in stacked teams he might not even crack the rotation.
This guy would be perfect for the Suns who let’s be honest definitely need a point gourd and am pretty sure he won’t cost that much money to get him to the Suns
Man bro u got me wanting to follow Europe ball. I have so many questions. How does the Barcelona fc have basketball and soccer? R there any others like that.
Its how it works in EU. Its not just a football or basketball team, its a sports organization with multiple teams in many sports. Its not just Barcelona or Real Madrid, but all around Europe, down to Bulgaria. Has to do with government paying good amount of money for the sports needs of its ppl.
@@Assen87 man I think that's pretty cool. So everyone probably likes the same football and basketball teams. Do they do other sports like volleyball and do they have a women's team also? Its definitely something I'll b paying a lot more attention to. Thanks for the info
He could become the first player off the bench & be on the floor at end of games , getting 30 minutes a night. OKC could take the kind of jump that Memphis took a few years ago - Chet is a game changer both offensively and defensively. OKC loves smart ball players more than athletic ones - it’s why they took Giddey rather than Kuminga - and it sounds like they will love Micic.
@cory4419 exactly, in Europe you pick a team to support and then follow them in every sport they have/you like (football, basketball, ...). It can be both good and bad, as teams choose in which sport they're going to invest more money and they might invest less in a sport you like
the only issue I see is he's old and OKC still has a lot of young guns that need minutes. Being 29, he's likely to be close to his ceiling by now. Maybe he could be a stop-gap while Dort and Giddey develops their shot. Or if he could take Manu's place as the best 6th man ever, the Thunder will be unstoppable.
OKC will be tough because they have so many young guys that should have prioirty, but just due to him being european I'm calling role player and a few iconic moments in the playoffs.
I hope he just plays off rhe bench or they focus him on that role. I remember Milos Teodosic, also a Euroleague MVP, when he came over being unable to adjust being up against NBA starting caliber guarss. Hopefully not the same story here.
Teo was a pure talent, but never worked hard on his physicalities. Micic is a hard-working player, but unfortunately, does not have maybe the talent like Teo, Campazzo or Vildosa to dance on the floor and see the game plays.
The NBA plays at a faster speed and 90% of its players have more athletic ability than Euro players. I'm not saying Euro players are not NBA level, I'm just saying that very few Euro players can handle the pace of the NBA.
So he was not banned for being too good, you described Philly and OKC as teams who were stockpiling picks to find the next big thing and if he was too good at basketball he’d be the next big thing.
@@bornaculig6952 embid nor Simmons are from America tho I get what you’re saying but and I somewhat agree after the stunt they pulled when doncic was signed but still you don’t pass on generational talent does not matter where they’re from
@@thatcubanredneck9111 Its simple in capitalism, you either get what the people want (money picks) or you dont get anything at all. The low intelligence nba media has something to say about that too. Should we have to state that they are racist biggots?
Also worth noting that a team would trade for his rights if they thought he was worth it. Since the Sixers or OKC didn't want him even a couple of 2nd rounders would be more than enough
The issue is that he may not get a fair shot or opportunity at OKC with all the guards on the depth chart ahead of him. All these great Europeans in the NBA all had something in common in which they all mostly came in the league to either fill a position void on the team or they were outright the best player on the team. Also, the OKC organization may not know how to incorporate him in the rotations like perhaps maybe teams in SA, DEN, or TOR..
My Guy, US Major League Baseball (MLB) has a rule that if a player gets picked by a team that they do not want to play with or don't like the $$$ they are getting offered, they can return to college and re-enter the draft the following year. The NFLPA & NBAPA need to pushed for something like this as well. Especially now that college players are getting NIL deals and European players can go home and play.
Tbh there'd be no reason to do that for the NFL or the NBA. You already get a good idea of where you're getting picked. Money is also usually determined by pick. and there usually isn't a situation where a player is drafted by a team they don't want to play with.
Holy fcuk, the Oklahoma City Thunder are going to be good this season. They have Chet coming back AND this guy? Easily an 8 seed and a dark horse 7, but if OKC can gel early and enough things go right, I can see them making the playoffs outright as a 6 seed. I had almost given up on DKM, but he came back with a banger. Nice job! 🏀
Okay I can't believe my 76ers drafted this guy in 2014 i know ur theory is we sent him back to Europe cuz we wanted to tank but remember by 2017 we were trying to compete we had Ben Simmons and embiid we should have brought him back to play with us when we were trying win a championship in 2017,18,19 sixers management and coaching doesn't surprise me. I can't believe we gave away his rights and 2020 we could have used him the whole time.
Kings fan here. Could you do a video about how past EuroLeague MVPs did in the NBA? I don’t think their track record is that good. Kings had another former MVP in Nemanja Bjelica.
@@DKM_Sports I would like you to do more videos on top prospects from the FIBA Champions League that deserve to be scouted by the NBA. Because of the way the EuroLeague is setup not every great player is in the EL. Out of the 18 teams, 13 of them are permanent while the rest are wildcards and champs from EuroCup and ABA League. So, most of the great teams from Europe's national leagues play in the FIBA Champions League and FIBA Europe Cup (after they began in 2016). Nowadays the EL clubs, who are by default richer, tend to pillage the players from the other clubs after they've proven themselves in the two FIBA leagues, but by the time any NBA scout could look at them in the EL they're either much older or they're comfy staying there. What NBA teams should be doing is paying attention to the stand-out players in the Champions League, Europe Cup, Spanish ACB league, Turkish BSL league and the ABA League because that's where most of the top talent who are young and hungry are. NBA teams should have people on payroll overseas whose part-time job is paying attention to that year-round. I want to see every NBA team or their G-League affiliate sign overseas players every year, not just every few years.
We just aren't made aware of anyone in the Euro League. Like all of our own team's the NBA and ESPN refuses to talk about. My Pacers never get spoken about. It's not our fault, it's the media doesn't let us know anything.
Good on you for jumping on UA-cam to find out for yourself then! I'm Australian, so I'm always more interested in international players in the NBA.... even though Europe is a LONG way away from where I live. In saying that, I've travelled all over Europe, Asia, and America.... so I feel an extra affinity for players from the countries I've spent time in. You should check out highlights of Alex Sarr, Luke Travers, Alex Toohey, Ben Henshall, Lachlan Olbrich, Taran Armstrong, Jaylin Galloway, Bobi Klintman, Trentyn Flowers, and Rocco Zikarsky. They all play in the Australian NBL.... and like LaMelo Ball and Josh Giddey before them.... these guys will likely ALL go from the NBL to playing in the NBA soon!! Alex Sarr will likely be the number one overall pick in the next NBA Draft. 🏀🏀🏀
I hope he gets more minutes this season so he can prove himself to the League. Tbh, OKC should consider trading him if they're just going to keep him in reserves anyway. His trade value will only decrease over time if they give him junk minutes and never let him get in a rhythm.
its crazy that this guy comparing all star in a country vs in a continent. its contradicting, by your comparison your telling US have bunch of good players than countries in Europe, combined.
Ok but he’s not been banned but that rule by the NBA has been horrible for him and he at 29 years of age should absolutely be an Unrestricted Free Agent!
paths of foreign players in the NBA are harder than the player academies in US especially his age. but one thing man, at sheer eyeball his game and size reminds me of Manu Ginobili.😁
Sasha will have the better NBA career mainly because of fit. The reason the kings went after him so hard this off season was because on paper his game fits like a glove.
Can he play PG? Bucks are in dire straits for a backup PG and we're already the oldest team in the NBA so were not afraid of older players. If he can play PG I'd be all for the Bucks trading to get this fella. If he can only play SG we don't need him though. Bucks are loaded with guys that can shoot the ball we need play makers. We have Jrue Holiday but that's it for guys that can distribute the ball from the perimeter.
This is so sad actually. So a player gets into a draft in hopes to play and develop in the biggest league, and the teams have the right to keep him in purgatory for a decade... Now what OKC will get is a player at the end of his prime playing as a rookie... Similar how Teodosic did when he came to play for the Clippers.
What's sad is that in Europe, 29 is considered the "end of your prime." Players start playing WAY too early in Europe, and often "burn out" faster than American players. Colleges and universities in Europe failing to provide athletic scholarships for basketball players is the main reason players there must go professional so soon. Players are also discarded faster in Europe if they fail to perform. 🏀
@@TuNnL In Europe there are no collegic leagues. If you play basketball, you play it after high school or earlier. And they don't burn out until 29, they play good over 30 too, but at that point there is already a new generation of players coming in to be the best in the league. In NBA older players with championship and playoff experience are valued more. In NBA also players aren't expected to win championships first 4 5 years but play as prospects for the future, while older gen is running the league.
@@ShiljamannnYour comment basically proves my point. In Europe, players start playing professional basketball too young and as a result, younger players are better than them even if they are only 29 years old. This is very sad. American players like Kobe Bryant, Vince Carter, Chris Paul, LeBron James, etc. do not reach the end of their prime until at least 35 years old. But they still continue to play as a reserve until 38-40 years old. Perhaps one day, European universities will place a value on athletics and create collegiate leagues. This will make European prime years longer and later in life, as good players can be given more time to develop without the pressure of "professional" basketball.
@@TuNnL LeBron and Kobe has once in a generation genetics and were spending millions every year on their body there's really no comparison there. Also both of them went to the NBA straight out of Highschool so are you really sure they're the guys you want to make your point? Universities have no business being sports leagues. Teams have their own youth sections and leagues. It's far more likely that the University Basketball system will die out in the US than Europe adopting it as it's innefectiveness and morality has been questioned for a while and now other leagues such as G-league ignite have risen and taken top level prospects from it while more and more prospects are also looking at Europe as a possibility so they can get paid as fast as possible while still maintaining their draft stock high
before you make an assumptions, it quite a bit impossible that okc will let him handle sone games aside from Shai, lets be honest, 1st reason why he's in the NBA is for marketing strategy, yes he's an MVP, that is why he already has a huge fanbase to support okc, unless hes on a team that doesnt have any stars like were luka go to the mavs and not unless the okc is willing to use him as a regular role player
I have no doubt of his talent, the only problem is that he might get low the usage and not be able to show out because of Shai,Giddey, Chet and those other youngins assuming they stay healthy. Best case he is a spark off the bench, maybe 10-20 min
He was 3.4 more points than me and had horrible shooting splits. If you're too late to enter the NBA you're never gonna be half as good as your potential. The gods we see now played in the best league with the best resources and they're the best because of it.
I disagree with your solution to the stash problem, I love it as a way to stash, but I think it should fall to the prospect, they should be able to demand a signing by the team who owns their rights, the team can deny that once, but if they deny it again that player immediately enters free agency. I love the strategy of "stashing" someone to develop, so this at least creates an opportunity to do that with power to the prospect
Best Starting 5 for me!!! C - Jokic PF - Porzingis SF - Markkanen SG - Antetokounmpo PG - Doncic 🎉🎉🎉 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 All Bigs!!! I can put Giannis in SG because of his speed. Well, we know Porzingis can play well as PF and Markkanen too at SF. Luka and Nikola is no question on their positions.
So the sixers drafted him then stashed him for six years even tho they needed a guard that can create his own shot and shoot next to Ben? 🤔 I’m suspicious of your reasons
Europe really taking over. If Vezenkov and Micic actually get minutes and starting lineup spots, the western conference will have 6 top European talents, in Doncic, Jokic, Sabonis, Markkanen, Vezenkov and Micic. Let's see how this pans out. These two latest signings especially could really pave the way for more Euroleague stars to enter the NBA.
Not a chance OKC already has a young star player in Shai Gilgeous Alexander, a great and young second option in Josh Giddey, and a lock down permanent defender/solid 3PT shooter in Lu Dort, A great 2-way young talent in Jdub. He won’t get minutes, because he isn’t better than any of the players named. He’s coming for being the guy to being a role-player for a team that already has a big time star.
This whole channel is just Euro league glazing. From start to finish, never references playing stats or game time. Moans and groans Europe being brushed off, but this the back to back mvp and champion can't shoot higher than .4 from the field and is averaging less than 5pts a game... ben simmons is more lethal from the free throw line than this guy is during open play. And don't get me started on how this guy was using non-season exhibition games as a standard for quality.
I may be wrong but if he wanted to come to the NBA and the team drafting him refused, shouldn’t that automatically make him a FA or at least a RFA? I’m not buying he was not allowed to come if he was drafted.
The only players they've ever said were "too good" were Wilt Chamberlain and Kevin Durant. They widened the lane to slow down Wilt's dominance and they set a different standard for KD because he was too good to play for the Warriors because poor Lebron wouldn't be able to win.
ridiculous that after 5 years he wasn't a ufa... weird rules. If a player isn't signed within the time a rookie contract would last(3 years I think), they should be a ufa.( I typed this literally 10 seconds before you said this in the vid).
I don't see him playing to his full potential with OKC. They already have a lot of good young guards, and he's going to have to play off ball a lot and come off the bench. Hope the best for him, though.

He doesn't make a lick of sense on the Thunder roster.
@@Kermit_T_Frog OKC is not about size but more shooting and savvy players. He fits right in to that concept but you are right they have plenty of similar size guys already. If he is a stud then great maybe they trade somebody else and if not he didn't cost them much
If he really is that guy like he is saying he is he’ll make his presence known and work his way into the rotation until okc are able to either trade him to get assets for him or trade other players to let him become who he should be
minimal D is why he's out of the league
when you don't rebound, block shots and rarely clear 1 steal/gm... you're not NBA material, m8
OKC gonna be fun to watch this year... I really wish he was on Denver tho they really could use him
As a Bulgarian, I have to mention Sasha as a better player than Micic.
Thunder is loaded already with Giddey, Shai and Lou Dort in backcourt. If Holmgren clicks OKC may be a serious team very soon.
imagine him in Miami, broooo...
I disagree, Vezenkov is a much better player than Micic
I think that would raise the level of competition or give the game more incentive.
nah this is such a great idea bro lowkey
With the shit that he's talking in this video we definitely need to see that happen
It’s not possible to give them a good enough incentive to make em play hard most all-star players make like 30 million a year what could they possibly give them to make em risk their whole season for one game
They'd still play with no defence, making silly jokes during play, protecting their cariers from injury
Banned? Ok now I know you making up shit. Teams literally been calling okc for him. HE doesn’t want to come over that’s not being banned
If this guy immediately gets integrated into the OKC rotation, he's gonna be an instant plus
They have SGA and Giddy, sadly he’s not getting to handle the ball much. He’ll be a 3 and D player at best and I don’t know about his defense
@@acpliego more likely, he will be 6th man leading 2nd unit for OKC. Furthermore, OKC will use so many different lineup that Micic will be tested with different players on the floor as well. I believe he will be very good with some guys from the first unit like Chet, J-Dub or even Giddey.

Bro... 😭😭😭 I JUST LOVE BEING A THUNDER FAN FROM OKC SOOOOO MUCH!
IN PRESTI WE TRUST!
Not doubting he might be a good player in the nba, but him being banned from the nba is a total play on words. If teams have a high value prospect they will always retain that player especially in rebuild mode. Here's a direct quote on why he has not played in the NBA,
"I think there was hesitancy to give up what would be your whole midlevel (exception) if you were a tax team for a guy who, you’re not sure how he fits,” on NBA general manager told Heavy Sports. “Most of the good teams, they’re tax teams this year. So you’re using your best chance to improve on a guy who has some risk, a lot of unknown. I think the Clippers’ experience with (Milos) Teodosic fed into it where a lot of teams said, ‘We don’t have much to spend, we can’t afford a mistake like that."
If you couple that with the fact that he wants to play with a contender team and not a team rebuild you can see he simply has not found a proper fit even with OKC as he will be a sixth man with Giddey as starting PG.
Comparing a whole continent to American players..Real comparison would be North America vs Europe…in which I’d take North America
i gotta agree even as an OKC fan its crazy we still have his rights 9 years later lmao. they should expire after 3 or 4 years
Couldn’t agree more , 3 year stash at the most ! I want to see these guys
Do your research DKM lol OKC been wanting him to come over. Just reach out to some OKC media they’ll give you the scoop.
Micic will be 6th man btw
No they didn't. He's been trying to get the NBA for three years now
He's knows... He just makes it sound more exciting lol
Dude im literally in vacation with Vasa i showed him this video and he laughed his ass off. You have quite an imagination.
Vazenkov is averaging 6 pts and this guy is averaging 3.6 pts. Definitely not something to write home about
All part of the take over my friend

No he just didn’t wanna come over
I feel like he could make some buckets.
0:29 Is the flag behind luka wrong? And why is Embiid defined "european player" if he comes from cameroon (or so i remember)?
Embiid is a French national, or atleast were granted french citizenship as far as I know

What do you think about Dante Exum signing with the Mavericks?
we have best players reppin', eastern euro, mainly ill just say former Yugoslavia but since it wasnt me or couldnt be () im still and have been waiting, hoping, wishing and all else for that one stud to come here to play in the NBA with the country listed /drafted from/born/etc.. be my home country, the old country, that one country brother to the other country . .
Draft n Stash rights should exist for 1-2 years ONLY. After that, the clock starts ticking.

It can be both good and bad, as teams choose in which sport they're going to invest more money and they might invest less in a sport you like
As Monaco / Real Madrid / Partizan / Bayern Munich / Fenerbahçe and theres more

the only issue I see is he's old and OKC still has a lot of young guns that need minutes. Being 29, he's likely to be close to his ceiling by now. Maybe he could be a stop-gap while Dort and Giddey develops their shot. Or if he could take Manu's place as the best 6th man ever, the Thunder will be unstoppable.
in the meantime Lebron is almost 40 and everyone praises him...ageism i guess? :p
I'm not saying Euro players are not NBA level, I'm just saying that very few Euro players can handle the pace of the NBA.
thinking he is better than smart is delusional lmao. this vid aged great
So he was not banned for being too good, you described Philly and OKC as teams who were stockpiling picks to find the next big thing and if he was too good at basketball he’d be the next big thing.

The issue is that he may not get a fair shot or opportunity at OKC with all the guards on the depth chart ahead of him.
Euro players who want to be in the NBA have plenty of avenues to get there. Dude was drafted 9 years ago...
Tbh there'd be no reason to do that for the NFL or the NBA. You already get a good idea of where you're getting picked. Money is also usually determined by pick. and there usually isn't a situation where a player is drafted by a team they don't want to play with.

You convinced me, I'm looking forward to seeing his play and how he adapts
With SGA and Giddy there he’s not getting the ball very often. Bad fit for him since he’s a ball handler
The biggest factor is the grind of the NBA season. The Euro League only plays 34 games. The NBA plays 82 over six months, plus playoffs.
Question is…OKC is deep with guards and forwards, will he have an actual opportunity?
Sometimes the player has been playing for years and is getting old. Better to invest in a college recruit.
Love to see Euro bball (purist bball) teaching the US the art of the game. 👏🏻
its crazy that this guy comparing all star in a country vs in a continent. its contradicting, by your comparison your telling US have bunch of good players than countries in Europe, combined.
Teodosic had crazy talent, but was so lazy. He'd have no chance even in his peak
2:56 did he travel?
I have no doubt of his talent, the only problem is that he might get low the usage and not be able to show out because of Shai,Giddey, Chet and those other youngins assuming they stay healthy. Best case he is a spark off the bench, maybe 10-20 min

Let's see how this pans out. These two latest signings especially could really pave the way for more Euroleague stars to enter the NBA.
You forget about Sengün and Bogdanovic and ofc Wemby if he pans out.
Giannis?

Yeah have fun playing behind sga and giddy. He definitely wont be an nba all star or close.
Embid is from Cameroon not Europe
This whole channel is just Euro league glazing. From start to finish, never references playing stats or game time. Moans and groans Europe being brushed off, but this the back to back mvp and champion can't shoot higher than .4 from the field and is averaging less than 5pts a game... ben simmons is more lethal from the free throw line than this guy is during open play. And don't get me started on how this guy was using non-season exhibition games as a standard for quality.
Why did you not mention Clarkson , Lavine , and Joe Harris with the guards from his draft class
Vezenkov won MVP, led his team to first in the league, and led the league in scoring, Micic didn't make the play-offs. "I'll let you decide"
I don't see him playing to his full potential with OKC. They already have a lot of good young guards, and he's going to have to play off ball a lot and come off the bench. Hope the best for him, though.
