I actually bought the UA tribase because of you. I bought a few things because of you and been happy with all my purchases. Your reviews are super accurate. Thank you.
After so many years of CrossFittting, I now know what I really like. For years I would buy everything that comes out, but now I know I prefer lighter weight, more flexible shoes so the Nike Free Metcon range have been my fav. I really really rate the Free Metcon 3. I still buy the main Metcons and agree that the Metcon 6 is good, but I only use those for heavy lifting days now.
Will agree soon I hope! Had the nano x's for 8 weeks and cannot run in those despite how great they feel in any other exercise. Returned them and nabbed the metcon 6's on special and I haven't taken them off my feet since I bought them today. Keen to test em out
The nano x feels great but it’s like wearing an oven. Especially in the garage gym in Texas during the summer. I used the be a nano guy but this changed me to a metcon guy. The metcons are way more breathable than any of the others. Except maybe the speed tr.
I've started Crossfit with Metcon 4 and I now rotate between my Metcon 5 and 6 shoes nowadays, I think the Metcon 6 shoes look better on me. I'm not sure why, but my coaches always notice when I get a new pair of shoes.
im use to the slim feel of the metcon 5/6 which i prefer because i have narrow feet i decided to get some nano x to compare i agree alot of stability but they are a bit more of bulky shoe which wouldnt be my first pick for look sake! non the less great video
I bought in 2020 but react metcons are my favorite. Dicks had tri base reign clearance for like $55 online was going to buy but not available for pick up nor shipping so 🤷🏼♂️.
Do people really destroy multiple pairs of shoes every year to lift? I've been using my Otomix Sting Ray and Romealo2 for years. No issues or need to replace.
Has the Reebok speed tr been rereleased in the states only? Had a pair years ago and loved them but they just don’t appear to be in the UK? They were a great all purpose shoe, reasonable to run in but stable enough to lift in.
Look forward to this video every year. Thanks again! If you had to choose between this year’s shoe and last year’s (Metcon React) which do you like and why?
I'm debating on getting the Inov8 F-Lite 245 or Altra Solstice XT for minimalist shoe and the Inov8 Bare-XF 210 V2 or Xero Prio for barefoot shoe. I do power-building and sprints (no distance running or rope or anything like clean and jerks). Thoughts?
I'm going to second a previous comment (and last year's list of the best shoes) and say the React Metcons are still my favorite shoes in 2020. Looks wise, know they are love them or hate them (and I'm one of the people who doesn't love the look), but from a performance perspective, my hands down favorite. Thanks for another year of great content, Joel, and Happy New Year!
Treated myself to a pair of Nano X and Nano X Unknowns for X-mas. Sad to hear that you sound a little disappointed with the nano X's. Hoping I like them as much as my beloved Nano 6's
@@AMRAP lol true (regarding them being #3 and heavy). From the sound of it, it seems like their lifting performance is their saving grace. Hoping they break in nicely since you were spot on with how you described the fit in your review (definitely fit smaller than the 9's). Thanks again for the great reviews! Happy new year!
Happy new year! I have bought tribase reign 2 based on ur good review. Would that be any big diff between this and metcon 6 for heavy squat and deadlifting?? Which would be better in stability?
What I like about the Tribase in comparison to Metcons are that they feel a little more connected to the ground - I'd rather deadlift in them. Where the Metcon's beat the tribase is that theyre wider and the outsole geometry is more stable, also they don't have as aggressive a toespring.- id pick them to squat in and overall stability. Difference, yes, big difference, no.
Well, I stopped at this shoe, only one I've used to train for basically the entire year: 1. Inov-8 F-Lite 235 v3 (maybe this didn't come out this year, but I was bummed it wasn't listed) I know, I didn't try the rest so how can I comment? Well, I stopped at Nano 9 as it got more stiff/clunky from the 8, and the 10 just got uglier and didn't look any more flexible/comfortable. Metcon, well, I stopped at Metcon 2/3 when they squeaked and felt heavy/clunky to me. I want a training shoe, not an anchor. :)
Maybe, but I have both Nke Metcon 5s and 6s and Reebok Nano 9s and 10s. The ones I personally get the most out of for my workouts and the most compliments for are the Metcons. Also, if you're using a Nano 8 or below, upgrade to Nano 9, X, or X1 because the older models can easily become a slip hazard. I actually suffered an injury back in 2018 from a pair of Nano 7s because they weren't built as stable as the newer ones and my left leg slipped out during a power squat and caused me to fall and injure myself with the weight on my back and shoulders. I was squatting around 300lbs on a rubber traction gym floor.
5) Reebok Speed TR (not durable)
4) Inov-8 F-Lite 245
3) Reebok Nano X
2) Under Armor Tribase Reign 2 (narrow shoes)
1) Nike Metcon 6
agreed on the UA tribase
Sucks that their all out of stock rn
I wear size 15 and their 15 runs small. Very disappointed in UA Tribase.
Hi @obesetoobeast
For lifting, converse low cut works great once you break into them! Keep them in the gym and they’ll last years.
My pick are the Reebok Nano X Froning. I don’t really do a lot of running or plyo due to bad knees. But I love the look and the fit.
I actually bought the UA tribase because of you. I bought a few things because of you and been happy with all my purchases. Your reviews are super accurate. Thank you.
1. Nano X
2. Metcon 4
3. Nike Quest 2 SE (All around , great for plyo and lighter lift days)
4. Nano 9s
5. Brooks Revel 4s
1. Metcon 6
2. Tribase reign 2
3. Nobull Project Superfabric Trainer (I know, I’m basic)
4. Nano X
5. Inov8 F Lite G-300
love my UA tribase Reign 2's. Spot on that they are pretty balanced overall for running and lifting.
I love my Metcon 5's. Interesting choice with the UA's. I never liked their choice on styling.
Go Ruck ballistic trainers are the #1 shoe. Glad I got them to.

I truly love my Nano 9s but the 8s have a small place in my heart. I throw them in some days still.
Yeah, the tribase reign 2 are great, but without discount, here in Mexico are a little pricey. Happy new year to all.
I like the nano speed tr also. The newest one release in 2020 is actually quite different than the previous version though.
impressive lifts!

I wish UA would make a tribase model that was a bit wider, because I really like that shoe, but it's too narrow for my feet.
UA tribase is also super underrated
Inov8 fast lifts . Most underrated training shoes.
Not a training shoe, more of an oly shoe.
I've started Crossfit with Metcon 4 and I now rotate between my Metcon 5 and 6 shoes nowadays, I think the Metcon 6 shoes look better on me. I'm not sure why, but my coaches always notice when I get a new pair of shoes.
Will have to check the UA Tribase and Metcon 6.
Always been a fan of Nano.
1- metcon 6
2- new balance prevail (2020 colorway 🤷♂️)
3- speed TR
4- nano X
5- 🤷♂️
Try the go ruck ballistic trainers before you start making a list.
Loved my metcon 4s
The nobulls I would add
I like Reebok Nano X than Nike Metcon because they were designed very nice
im use to the slim feel of the metcon 5/6 which i prefer because i have narrow feet i decided to get some nano x to compare i agree alot of stability but they are a bit more of bulky shoe which wouldnt be my first pick for look sake! non the less great video

Most people who get shoes every year are like me and are big shoe junkies.
Holds up brand new shoes
There’s a clip of me wearing each of these shoes - besides the Tribase, which are obviously dirty. Try again.
Please also mention about the durability, how durable are Under armour R2 ???
Second!
Happy New Year 2021! Who’s waiting for Nike Metcon React to drop??
End of Jan is what I hear
thanks for your reviews

Very nice review
1- metcon 6
2- metcon 5
3- nobull
4- 😎
1:31 guy in the back looks normal when the shot is changed
I love that I made the video. One of my worst Box Jump Overs ever!
Have you done a video on the nano x unknown ??
I agree. Keen to hear your thoughts
@@bennyfinktunes I love the design and he does such great reviews I’d love to here his thoughts

Hye. Wats ur opinions for air max alpha savage?
Look forward to this video every year. Thanks again! If you had to choose between this year’s shoe and last year’s (Metcon React) which do you like and why?
I still like react Metcons, because they have a better midsole.
@@AMRAP Thanks again!
What are the major differences that you noticed of the Innov-8 F245 vs the F 235 v3?
I'm debating on getting the Inov8 F-Lite 245 or Altra Solstice XT for minimalist shoe and the Inov8 Bare-XF 210 V2 or Xero Prio for barefoot shoe. I do power-building and sprints (no distance running or rope or anything like clean and jerks). Thoughts?
Wondering where does Free Metcon 3 rank on your list?
Is the Nike Renew Fusion a good training shoe?

What’s your thoughts on the GoRuck Ballistic and I/O Cross Trainers?
Thanks for the reviews. Are you gonna review the Puma Fuse this year?
Yeah I just got them...not really impressed so far but they're usable.
please review nike metcon 7
What are the best laceless shoes like the met on turbo
Solid list! Where’s the thicc hat from?

Would you go with the metcon 6 or met on react turbo?
Tribase Reigns for the win!!!
What are your thoughts on the altra solstice xt?
Hi mate, can you help with advice on which you would chose out of inov8 f lite 235 and 245?
235

They’re still number 3, haha, I still really like them and use them but they’re just so heavy!

lol
What power rack you have in the background?
Griffin fitness GR3
Hey mate. Are nano x1 good for running?
Yeah they're okay for a training shoe
Happy New year
What would you recommend as the best shoe for HIIT workouts but Wide/flat feet?
If you’re not really lifting, the free Metcon 3 or super rep surge are pretty good for just plyometric stuff
NO BULL's ? A very stable, no nonsense training shoe (IMO).
If it was 2016, I’d probably say okay.
@@AMRAP I'm not sure what you mean Joel. Are NO BULL trainers no longer considered a good shoe ? Are they no longer relevant ?
@@stefanomagaddino6868 what he means by that is that they aren't new. That's it. Still really solid shoes
@@ahslan18 Oh. Thanks, Ahslan.
I have to ask, where did you get that shirt?

Is your CF box open at full capacity?
No, these are all old clips.

Metcon6....aka never available in my size
Is anyone going to comment on the weight this dude is throwing around?
How about a to 10 best looking cross training shoes of 2020?
Best looking? What are you going to gym for? To show off your training gear? Get out of here
Too subjective. What I like, other people probably wouldn’t.
Can I buy your t-shirt please
How dare you put the nano x at three! Lol
Cause it’s only good for heavy lifting
Others top 2 are more versatile
Am I alone in thinking metcons are ugly AF?
Maybe, but I have both Nke Metcon 5s and 6s and Reebok Nano 9s and 10s. The ones I personally get the most out of for my workouts and the most compliments for are the Metcons.
