    I loved Edith & Beverley's friendship.

Edith was the embodiment of true Christian values of compassion and kindness with no judgement. She loved everyone and left God’s business in God’s hands. She wasn’t sanctimonious or pious. She lived her life with love and caring. Edith had the innocence of a child with a true wisdom of the heart. I just adored her character.

When Edith called Beverly "family", the person playing Beverly showed how much it meant, and it seemed real. The little quiver in the voice, and the hint of emotion conveyed in two seconds said a thousand words. In a world where downing others, criticizing and judging has become the norm, I thought this episode really touched on empathy and caring about people. Sounds corny, I know, but watching this episode from all those years ago, and seeing how today's problems were problems we've had for, well, centuries, really, was pretty touching.

Yes I could feel the emotion Beverly felt in that moment. For marginalized people like Beverly where the world can be cruel and unkind, even from your own family, she found the one person, Edith, who saw that they were a person of worth and deserving of love and acceptance. It made me cry!!

Edith always treated people with such love and kindness. She gave everyone a chance and that's what made her such a beautiful person. RIP Edith and Beverly❤❤😪😪

It doesn't sound corny to me at all. People can be way too judgemental sometimes. The older I get, the more accepting I am of people. I really liked the Beverly LaSalle character. I thought she was a riot.

Edith was such a sweetheart. I believe if All In The Family existed today Edith would be the very same accepting of everyone. Edith was a gem!

So ahead of their time. Some people need to see this episode if they still have a closed heart.

I love how the had Beverly on the show, Edith needed more friends. I just wish they didn't keep kicking her friends off the show.

That "I'd love to!" is so cute. And then the "you're like a sister". Aww... I didn't know this show until Beverly, as I was studying drag history. :)

The one thing that bothers me is that Edith always loses friends in this series. Louise Jefferson, Irene Lorenzo and Frank and then Beverly. It makes me sad. And it is always death, moving away, or not appearing on the series ever again.

@@u.s.m.c.fewproudthemarines2987The above commenter isn't wrong, but neither are you. The introduction of wokeness did start much earlier than most realize, but Beverly shouldn't have been killed for it. Beverly didn't deserve to be killed for it. Nobody should or deserves to be murdered for being different. And nobody has the right to take the life of another.
