    I have had this little guy for a month and with a quick switch out with some D'addario tapewound strings and I've never had more fun playing bass in my life.

      Just got mine 2 days ago and would already agree with your assessment. This thing is absolutely killer. And the quality seems top notch. I was somewhat wary of that with a $200 instrument in 2022. But like it so much more than I had thought that I would.

    Just got mine this past weekend. Recently sold my Squier VM Jag SS because it felt too small in my hands (neck in particular). This bass, however, with the fat neck profile, feels solid as rock. No mods necessary (and I usually upgrade at least to brass saddles) This bass is a tremendous instrument and value straight out the box. And very fun to play. Thanks for another great demo.

    Know something? You said a couple of times to go easy on you cos you're not a bass player. Well I'll tell you, it was an absolute pleasure to hear you play a bass the way it should be played! Plenty of low end grunt to drive the track forward, keeping the beat and pushing the song along. I get really fed up tuning in to a review and you get some guy who says he's a bassist but is really a frustrated lead player, and treats from the 7th fret to the nut as it it had leprosy, then goes to the 12th fret and above, laying down more chords that George Harrison. Anyway, great review, bud, Thanks!

      I was going to say basically the same thing.
      I got to hear the bass doing what it's supposed to do. Rhythm and tempo, boys and girls - that's where it's at!
      Maybe Ibanez should pay you, Guitar Manifesto - you just sold me on this bass!

      @@RC-so7rv Same on me, I recently bought an audio interface and started to put out ideas locked on me for 20 years in shape of song compositions, at this moment I can´t spent a lot of money ( I still have to buy an eletronic drums, cause programming drums sucks) after seeing this video I decided to buy one of this bass, at least 2 sells by Guitar Manifesto.

    Started playing bass two months ago @ 61 after years of guitar.
    Got given an Aria pro 2, which plays and sounds amazing but too long for my small, aging frame. Bought the tmb 30, Ivory, took the black headstock back to natural wood, and remade a pickgaurd in red tortoise based on the rare Ibanez Jet King. Check them out online ! Also added a chrome bridge cover. Looks and sounds great. Can't get enough and realised I should have been playing bass for the last 45 years. Guess I'm a slow learner!

    I've had mine a week... I have the 105, 5-string model with jatoba fretboard. I wish I'd known of this guitar back when I could've picked up the rosewood fretboard. Still, it's worth every penny and came set up with an extremely low action and almost perfectly intonated.
    Pickups are strong, but the P pickup is a beast. I couldn't be happier for only $249, I'm also glad Ibanez put their money into the bass itself and not into a crappy gig bag and other junk! Fender wouldn't put their name on anything at $249 and Ibanez is beating Fender all the way up to $1,500 in their bass guitars. They just have more value and the quality control is there with Ibanez.

    Great informative review as always. I've had one for about a year now. I'm also not a bass player so I wanted a short scale inexpensive bass to mess around with. Mine is a b-stock that I got for around 130 USD. The reason for the b-stock was a rather significant paint chip on the top of the bottom horn but because mine is cream, and what's under the chip is white, it's not that noticeable. My verdict is this is a great bass for the money. It sounds good enough and is very easy to play (I play like you - with a pick). My only gripe, and it's a small one, is that when using a strap (standing) the weight of the body is not balanced. It's bottom heavy causing the neck to go almost vertical. Thanks again for the awesome video!

    • @theguitarmanifesto
      @theguitarmanifesto  5 років тому

      Thank you, ooh that's a good price for b stock 👌🎸 yeah it's a good little guitar fun to play, great for beginners or players transfering over from guitar.

    Rob Id like to echo what others have said. You’re a great bassist. Very Krist Novoselic/Nate Mendel-ish. I’m looking at getting my first bass in 17 years. I traded in my old Ibanez sound gear for a new guitar. But I play at a church where they only have 1 bassist. So I told the music director I can fill in in a pinch. I’m seriously considering a short scale bass like this one. Thank you for the awesome review.

    P pickup is a little flabby on the bottom end (even for a short-scale), but that's a fairly easy upgrade, especially with the money you'd be able to duck spending
    The J pickup has a pretty even response, though
    Not sure I'd get this over a Squier Jaguar bass, but it's definitely kickass for the money
