  • BUNDY IN COURT ANALYSIS! • Ted Bundy's Sinister B...
Theodore Robert Bundy was born on November 24, 1946. While he claimed he had an overall happy and average childhood, many describe Bundy as having a difficult childhood. He spent his early years with his maternal grandparents, who raised him as their son. Bundy was said to have thought his mother was his sister, according to a prison psychologist who once interviewed Bundy, in the documentary "The Ted Bundy Tapes." He apparently didn't find out who his birth mother was until later in life. Along with this, a forensic psychologist and FBI and law enforcement consultant stated that Bundy exhibited signs of conduct disorder as a child.
This was further amplified as a young Bundy began to avidly view violent pornography. He stated in his final interview that he felt the need to take in more extreme content to give himself the same feeling until he finally realized what he had to do to take it to the next level.
While his first attack occurred early in 1974, his first killing occurred on or around February 1st of 1974 from that point on through the year 1978, according to his own confession, he killed, kidnapped, and assaulted more than 30 women in seven states, while escaping from prison twice. After his final arrest in 1979, Bundy insisted on acting as his own attorney and even cross-examined witnesses during his trial. However, he was found guilty of murder and was sentenced to death via electric chair.
Over the next ten years, legalities would play out. Bundy even was married during his imprisonment and had a child. However, he was later divorced and was executed by electric chair at 7:06 a.m. on January 24, 1989, at Florida State Prison in Starke, Florida.

At 19:39 he says “Yes absolutely” (that he feels remorse) but he is clearly shaking his head ‘No’. I do not believe he regrets a single moment of it. Also at 27:58 Bundy looks at the interviewer to check and see if the interviewer believes his lie. Any mention of Kimberly Leach was always a clear no-go subject for him to discuss as she was the youngest victim and showed how deep and dark his depravity truly was. The man was just evil

At that moment he has not to many emotions felt, except shame and calming the consience throught those speech with Dr. Dobson. You can't see through that Interview that He remorsed. But you can see that he is "remersing" from the guilty and shame, not from the love. I think that He was not a Person that had Anger, but He was very violent and sexual frustrated, and had remorse for Power because He was evil. But whether He remorsed or not, it stays between him and God. Many People were violent and they accepted their guilty and remorsed, and that can you see not too much from body fellings, but from really Personal change. Vikings were very violent and lazy, but then they became peaceful preachers of the Gospel of Sweeden.

YOu aren't possessed 24/7. However the same demons that would possess him to kill would also entice, encourage them to think, rehearse and even plan out doing something that would destroy your life. And as Ted himself admitted, it didn't start there. It started with viewing violent pornography. So if someone is reading that, then its flooding your head with vain imaginations (forethought) that are leading to planning out murders of your own.

During the first escape, Ted observed an unattended window, identified an opportunity, and practiced jumping off his cell bunker to brace his legs for the impact. The second escape, he starved down, lost a few pounds and hacked his way thru the ceiling.
The man is an OPPORTUNIST. Even in this interview, he is looking for opportunities to sound remorseful, to sound sorry, and sound sad, but the truth is....in the "ODDITIES", as you explain it. His eyes constantly darting over to Dobson, checking for response, checking if he is emoting correctly. This whole thing is Ted desperately trying to get out of the electric chair. He was absolutely obsessed with maintaining this normal person image that he successfully had going for a long time. Even in this interview his main focus was making sure that everyone understands how “normal” he was outside of those “rare” moments when he would flip into the serial killer mode and allegedly had no control of himself and his actions… Shame is one of the emotions that many sociopaths and psychopaths can feel since it does not have to be based on empathy. i am a survivor of domestic abuse and as such i feel like my instincts are excellent when it comes to picking up on signals of danger and ted bundy radiates them. the way he talks, the way he thinks, the facial expressions he makes, the eyes always staring at you, the even breathing, the cool attitude. like i have a hard time ever believing anyone couldn't think he was a freak because he just seems phony and fake.

On paper his grades were very poor in college, he bombed his LSATS and only got into Utah bc of letters of recommendation (from people he successfully fooled, many of whom were actually well educated and successful) I think “just smart enough to convince people that he’s smarter than he is” is a perfect summary for who he was as a criminal. Interesting note (I'm a student of psych):
Usually we find patterns of non-verbal 'leaks'/ desyncs/ misalignment but the appropriate/ expected verbage.
With T.B., I noticed the reverse. I felt that he emoted very very well and almost as expected, with only a few oddities here & there. Instead, it was his verbage which was interesting.
Do you feel remorse? Goes on to talk about how others feel and God, and then vaguely refers to remorse.
Did you find solace in God at your final hour? You'd expect him to have almost 'surrendered'/ sense of defeat, and accept the repercussions of his actions, instead he rationalizes as death being an inevitable end to everyone.
What did you feel during/after the murders? He describes the event/ circumstances in detail but glosses over his emotions.
As someone with ASPD, he would be good at acting with the expected emotions as a form of manipulation, good at compartmentalizing, and analyzing. But he is not able to describe any of the emotions well or understand the depth of those emotions or truly empathize. That's very interesting.
Of course, I may be wrong. But it is what I noticed and what I understand about ASPD.

Any time he was interrupted, it seems like he became agitated, and his mannerisms sped up to take back control, and his gestures seem more firm.
He appeared angry when Kimberly was brought up. Like he didn't want to talk about what he knew would affect his image.

He talks about compulsion, but he planned things out ahead of time, and would revisit some of the victims after he killed them.
I think it's all an act, and he has absolutely no remorse. He is only sorry he got caught, his reputation turned sour, and that he was going to be executed. It seemed like he gave the quickest smile when Dr. Dobson said her name. He hid it behind his hand and quickly changed his expression. Plus, he did that deep breath. To me it sounded lustful. I do believe he got off with these murders. Then, later when his eyes flashed up to Dr. Dobson, he was trying to see if he had fooled Dobson. From the way I was reading him, he refusal to talk about any of these murders (including the 12 year old) was because he wasn't sure how to talk about it and sound like a normal person with normal feelings. But like I said, I only have an associate's degree in psychology and don't have a lot of experience of reading the body language of psychopaths so I could be entirely off base.

He was also able to have what could be viewed as a "normal" relationship with women yet still, when he got the "craving", could still go out and rape and murder another women and then going home to his partner. Interesting is that he had chosen victims with very similar likenesses. As a very young child he started displaying signs of Psychopathy (Conduct Disorder). I feel like people like him are less likely to admit to why as a way to maintain control. To them, what's the point of giving closure? That moment where he appears to be so pained at recalling events, then that instant flash at the end, of him looking at the doctor, said everything. The hair on my neck stood on end. He was checking. Checking for a reaction, to see if he was believed . If not for that error, I might have believed him.
But that cold flash said it all. It not only illustrated that the pained expression was an act, but indicated he was more interested in how he presented to the doc and viewers, than anything else. I think he was hamming it up for one last shot to have his execution “stayed”

Something that really caught my eye and that I found very interesting is when the interviewer "interrupts" Bundy. ( 16:45 ) He looks almost upset or agitated by this and then he emphasizes AGAIN that he was okay and a normal person. I don't know anything about non verbal communication but it seemed to me that he was trying to gain simpathy and to make everyone believe that he was in fact "normal" by saying it multiple times. Or maybe he was just trying to believe it himself, like a self assurance type of thing. Also, the way he looked at the interviewer, his voice tone and the gesture he does with his arms looked passive-aggresive to me.

I am certain he did not feel remorse. Talking about the 12 year old girl - and that look back up at the interviewer appeared to be checking to see if he was buying it. And it is a very chilling look. So I’m truly obsessed and fascinated by this man. What he did was absolutely disgusting and vile, but I can’t help but want to learn more about him. Unlike any other killer I’ve seen, he clearly knew how to be normal. And I think it’s what he wanted. He had a girlfriend and he was a father figure to her daughter. He had a job and he wanted to go to school to become a lawyer. But something was clearly wrong with him. Kind of like he was unsatisfied with his life. I read somewhere that serial killer’s victims reflect from some sort of past trauma. And I guarantee being lied about who his mother (who to him was a coward who did not own up to being a mother and just passed her son off to her parents) was took a huge part of who his victims were (young, bright girls who had their whole lives ahead of them). He was taking out all of his hate on other young women, believing they shouldn’t get to experience life because they don’t deserve it. His whole life was based around lies, and he simply tried to be someone he wasn’t. I think he took that sense of hate and betrayal onto other young women. Notice how he hides his face and tries to stray away from the topic of the murders. He knows he will act in an unfavorable way, so he tries to hide it. Even to his death, he wanted people to like him. Now I have some done stupid things in my life, things where I’m not sure why I did them, but I did them anyways. Of course it wasn’t to the extreme level of murder, but they were things that looking bad, I did not regret. I knew they were wrong, but a part of me still wanted to do it. Our worst enemies our ourselves, and Ted even said that humanity should be protected from itself. I’m not glorifying Bundy, nor and I sympathizing. But I am pitying him. Because he didn’t realize how good he had it, having a family and on the road to a good paying job. I am a human as well, and I have no right to judge anybody. When something goes wrong, I believe everybody is a victim, in some ways more than others. I hope all of the lives lost are now resting easy.

I'm impressed, what a respectful and neutral analysis! Very far from others that I've seen where they were looking in non verbal communication confirmations of what they thought Bundy to be and, of course, they found them.
Many people expect from this interview signs of a common person feelings manifestation and, as they don't find them, point to the manipulation.
Obviously he has a total different process of emotion than the average people, but it doesn't mean he's not struggling or being honest about what he's feeling in the inside.
That struggle isn't with what he's done or its consequences, as one could expect, but within.
It seems to me that he struggles with the understanding of his own being, as he is obviously aware that he experiences emotion in a different way that most of the people and tries to understand and explain it. First to himself and then to the rest.
    Great video!!

  • @veezienhamoruhwande99

Dr. Evan Lewis indicated in his psychological report: Mr. Bundy is able to compartmentalize his emotions and thought processes to an unusual degree, possibly to the point that he can dissociate himself from one set of stanstandards so that he can almost totally adapt another. Thus, he is probably capable of giving people very different impressions of himself, depending on what set of standards he chooses to guide his behavior.
Possibly one of the best descriptions of his behavior came from Larry Voschal about the raft trip in the summer of 1974:
His personality went from a very pleasant person to someone who was practically unbearable to be with. I don’t
know whether he was tired of his amateur partners or what but it was one of the most unusual personality transformations I’ve seen. I’ve been a reporter for about ten years and it’s one of the strangest things I’ve seen. I believe he’s got a split personality, a dual personality. The psychological test data was too clean and of a nature that I often see in people who don’t want to reveal themselves. There were a couple of times I saw the angry side of Ted so I knew it was there. Putting all the information I had gleaned from the test data as well as the phone conversations and the personal interviews with Ted, I arrived at the following conclusions about Ted Bundy, which I put in my report to the court. He is a private person and won’t reveal himself to others. He doesn’t want to be known by others. He became defensive and evasive when any of his girlfriends tried to get information from him. Outwardly he looks very adequate. This masks strong feelings of inadequacy. He couldn’t handle ambiguity (for example, he was obsessively organized and continuously called his investigators for updates so that he would know what the police thought of him). Loss of a father was very significant. He viewed women as more competent than men.He demonstrated a strong dependency on women for emotional support and yet he couldn’t settle down with one. He said he resented dependency and yet he seemed to most resent his own dependency. He would get very upset when people would say negative things about him. There were a number of people coming in and out of his life. Most relationships were brief, suggesting instability. He would hurt deeply when he would lose someone. There was a strong sense of futility about him. He is reluctant to accept help or support from anyone (except for financial support). He wants relationships with people on his terms and he wants to be in control of the relationship at all times. He is egocentric. It is extremely important for him to be in control of his emotions, interpersonal relationships and interviews. He has a very strong fear of being hurt and he puts up strong defenses against getting close, including being touched. He has an obsession regarding controlling and structuring and he runs from the situation or relationship when it doesn’t work. He shows strong suspiciousness regarding people playing games or trying to trick him and he is always on guard. He is a very perceptive person. There is a strong theme of having been put down, humiliated and made fun of. There is a strong sense of loneliness. He shows a rapid change in moods from pleasant to angry to depressed. He lacks outward indications of guilt and tries to conceal his anxiety. However, he shows it through deep sighs and heavy perspiring. He claims his behavior is not modifiable by fear. “I don’t have fears. Fear, pain and punishment don’t stick
with me.” However, this is not true. I concluded that it was my opinion that Ted’s personality fit the crime for which he was found guilty. I submitted my report to the court. Then all hell broke loose.

I'm starting to believe that this is actually possible...I've heard other killers say the same. A guy killed his wife by stabbing her and then burned the house down while drunk at new years eve a few years ago. His whole family described him as a nice guy who was never ever violent towards anyone and who had a good relationship to his wife and kids. He described the night of the murder as absurd and like he was in a trance and as if something took over him. He had an argument with his wife and then something inside him told him to better end this and he just went into the kitchen, got a knife and stabbed his wife multiple times, then calmly went to pour gasoline allover the house and set it on fire. He felt like he had been in a trance and not himself at all. I am not religious, but I do believe there are some evil forces that can affect people, especially when intoxicated from alcohol or cocaine.
But Ted Bundy seems to have been like this since he was a kid. And there are theories that his mother was raped by her own father and became pregnant with Ted. That's a very evil act and who knows if he was born evil because of all the trauma and most likely negative and traumatic thoughts his mother had during the pregancy. Wikipedia describes an episode when he was a child: "Bundy occasionally exhibited disturbing behavior at an early age. Julia recalled awakening from a nap to find herself surrounded by knives from the kitchen, and three-year-old Ted standing by the bed smiling." ...Sounds like he was born this way. Maybe he was actually possessed while in the womb...

I am by no means a mental health professional or an expert in body language but I was a bartender for 20+ years so I have a little insight into what makes people tick.
That heads-down, downward gaze thing that he's doing? That's an attempt to come across as nonthreatening. It's used to lull people into a false sense of security because they are made to think that they are the dominant one in the situation.
The reason that he looks so ashamed about Kimberly Leach isn't because she was so young and her parents were hurting due to his actions.
He considered her low hanging fruit and he liked to feel that he had outwitted a worthy opponent. Kimberly Leach was in no way on the same level as Bundy so he was ashamed of murdering her because there was no challenge to it.

he said stuff like "im normal 99% of the time" and "i experienced normal emotions when i wasnt in this other state of mind", but hes also said that he used to go on practice runs, where hed practice his ruses and luring techniques and pick up girls, but hed let them go. so if he was that dedicated to perfecting his craft, then he was "in the killers mind" 100% of the time, not just 1%

My third son was born January 1989. Ted Bundy was executed shortly after. I remember the crowds outside cheering. It was kind of surreal. He was a master manipulator. He told Dr. Dobson exactly what he wanted to hear.

That's funny. My mother's third son was born shortly before he was executed.

He didn't confess to any of the suspected victims who were under 15-years-old, so his extreme agitation when 12-year-old Kimberly Leach was mentioned would be expected. Also, Kimberly Leach's murder was the crime that sent him to the electric chair.

After watching "Secret Window" a movie in which the actor Johnny Depp killed his wife, I truly felt the terror of what Bundy's victims would have felt. He did not show any hesitation or mercy. He was an animal.
