    Awesome thank you very much. I have seen other videos on Intro to scopes and still left me with questions but you explain it step by step and why to do it this way which is easy to follow and understand. I finally took my scope out of the box that I purchased and used it and it worked as you showed in the video. I will watch your other videos and look forward to any future videos. Again Thank You.

    Have been using various O-Scopes since back in the mid 1970's. Once you start you probably will NEVER quit. With all the avail accessories you are looking at a world of info. To me it is a toss up between vibration data vs comm data in ECM/PCM modules. Using the correct NVH velocity pickups You can monitor the bearing signatures at all four wheels. I have shown one installation just how to check injector ckts/drivers for correct operation. O-Scopes save lots of time with potential of mega bits of info using very few tools.

    Heyyyyy Justin...old buddy old pal. We don't really know each other however, I just wanted you to know that not everyone can teach. there are people who know how to do stuff, but they don't know how to effectively impart their knowledge to others. You're *NOT* one of those people - had you for a moment there didn't I.
    I have viewed quite a lot of videos on Pico scopes and got my first one yesterday - 01?20?22. You're a natural instructor. It's really easy to follow what you project to the listener / student. a lo9t of people come up here and ramble and fumble, saying stuff that's not true - like the flow of voltage....
    Anyway, do you have a video for the latest Pico software and how to use it> If not, I think you should do one coz pico 6 is not ancient. Pico 7 is the new kid in town and it's a lot less confusing for the newbie. So give it a shot old buddy old pal - even though we don't know each other.
    P.S. I think you should develop your own training course because I've seen training courses by a couple others and they simply are not in your league...in so far as being an effective instructor is concerned. So Why not? Well that's uP 2U

      Pat, It is good to hear from you again! You are right. I need to make some updated videos. I have been intending to make some new videos for PicoScope 7. I hope I will be able to get around to it very soon!
      Take care,
      Justin

    This is an excellent presentation, especially for us beginners.
    Novice questions: is the Pico Scope then, superior to the Fluke handheld scopemeters that are designed for automotive work?
    I'm assuming that one advantage would be the larger screen of the laptop but would the Fluke be easier to read in broad daylight? Also, is the Pico automotive specific software the real deciding factor here in terms of which to choose ?
    One has to rely on the opinions of those with hands-on or real world experience of both styles.
    These are luxury items in my spot on the earth and I've never seen either except via this medium.

      @JustinMillerAutomotive  5 років тому +1

      In my opinion, the Pico is much better. The hardware is a simple data acquisition box, the software can run on any computer with Windows, and it is faster and more powerful than about any scope that an individual would buy. It is also very easy to learn and use. Some of the other scopes have slow processors, required subscriptions to update the software, and are tied to a piece of hardware that will become outdated in a few years.

      @@JustinMillerAutomotive Thank you for your kind response. So many publishers on this medium appear to forget the theory behind why they post in the first place - forget that they were once novices also.
      Your points are timely reminders - each one of them. Sometimes one gets caught with convenience and lose sight of long term value, which you adeptly point out.
      Obliged.

    Hi, where can i turn the knot on channel A for voltage measurement to be on scale zero?
    ? Thankyou

    • @JustinMillerAutomotive
      @JustinMillerAutomotive  5 років тому

      You should not have to "zero" your voltage probe. If you are seeing a lot of noise, try adjusting your scale to higher voltage range. Just like when you use a voltmeter, when you touch the two leads together, it should read zero. If the leads are not touching each other, you will always be measuring very small amounts of electrical noise.

    Is Pico scope just a brand name of a lab/oscillo scope or is there something fundamentally different about it?
