670Kg FIAT X1/9 Alfa Romeo || INSANE AGILITY SuperTurismo Engine Swap

- Опубліковано 26 тра 2024
- One of the outright Fastest machines in European HillClimb Racing, it´s Manuel Dondi and his FIAT X1/9, a duo that took some time off during this last season, racing only an handful of events, but showed tremendous pace during the 2022 Season as remember here. All-Time Touring Car recordist at the legendary Trento-Bondone (beating Georg Plasa´s time with the BMW E36 Judd V8 in 2019), it also went to Buzet in Crotia to completely obliterate all its competition and leaving behind plenty of machinary with over twice its power and almost doing the same at Ilirska and the iconic St. Ursanne. This is a 670Kg lightweight mid-engined machine, now powered by a Alfa Romeo D2 motor (taken from the 156 Touring Car) tuned to around 320Hp/9.000Rpm. This 2 Time Italian Hillclimb Champion has been tuned and refined for years by Cavallini Motorsport and is one of the pinnacles of efficiency in the Sport. And coming back in full force this year. We´ll be here waiting patiently...

This driver is a savage. Fearless.
that drivers been driving this car for a while. i watch this call EVERY time i see a video of it. he has some seat time in it. this is just what it looks like when you master your craft with the tools you got. the driver is pure insane and i loooove it
@@AlteredCarbons Manuel Dondi is about as talented as we´ve ever seen...and we have seen a lot...
It's truly impressive how a "fairly modest" build runs rings around much more powerful (and certainly more expensive) cars, this car is almost always at the top of the leaderboard. It goes to show that _some_ things just can't be fixed with money, the true talent behind the driver and his team is priceless.
This.
What do you mean by fairly modest? Kk
@@MrPeteRR299 not too crazy looking earo package, "only" 320hp.
Compared to other hillclimb cars it looks tame but certainly doesn't perform that way.
@@twanheijkoop6753 only 670 kg. Very light car, very low and great driver behind the wheel. Spectacular.
0:50 Those camera people doing literally the exact same movement like npcs in a video game looks so funny xD
The magic of watching Hillclimb Racing live on site ;)
😂😂😂😂
This car is set up so well and the driver drives it so well. I kept looking for the car to twitch or break loose a little. Never happened.
Yeah, I was going to say the same thing, who setup this car is a tuning genius! And the fact it's "added with lightness" just makes it even faster!
It's the physic too.
That low mass, with an low center of gravity(tiny wheels)+ good balance (mid/rear engine),that already a perfect start!
Love this car.
I agree with everything you said.. great to watch
Yes, but imagine giving this engine even a little boost ... it would be insane ... if the cylinder liners would just hold the pressure ... 🙂
It broke loose. You just didn't notice.
It's got the sort of point-and-squirt quicksilver speed, like a terrier after a rat. Fantastic machine, and whoever the engineers were who designed the suspension and aero setup did a brilliant job. Getting a car with such a short wheelbase to corner like that is nothing short of incredible. The Stratos has a well-deserved reputation as a bit of a handful, with a similar footprint, but this turns in with a darting enthusiasm and then corners as if it's on rails!
It is one of the most successful European HillClimb cars for a reason ;)
@@HillClimbMonsters I wasn't aware, but I'm not surprised in the least. The driver has to be something special, too, just to keep up with such a car.
@@gerryjamesedwards1227 The driver,Manuel Dondi,is one of the best in business.
Always great to see him in Buzet, such a legend and really nice person
Fingers crossed he is getting back this year.
OMGOOOSH ❤❤❤ I had two X19s as a teenager. Dual Webers with full-length headers. I miss working on them. I always knew it was capable of way more performance. Bayless was my goto for parts. Man, the good old days 😂❤❤
We the viewers will be waiting patiently and all... An awesome car right from the get go and continues to prove that it aint no slouch. A great car, driver combo 🌝🤪
One of the most successful European Hillclimb cars for a reason...
Manuel Dondi very top driver +Fiat x1/9 by Cavallini very top car ✌💪❤
What kind of tire/tire compound he use?
At the very very Top ;)
@@houseofsolomon2440he uses Avon tires i don't know the compound but i think something softer because the hillclimb is about 7-8 km. For Trento Bondone (the university of hillclimb) 17 km i think little bit harder
He and his team knows what they are doing, great job👍
For well over a decade now ;)
Insane build. I had an X1/9 years ago. Respect to this guy to getting it so fast. They're very buggy cars.
When you say years ago…how many? I got one of the first ones delivered to Beverly Hills in 1974. What a fun car even without the engine swap.
Thi machine has been evolved for well over a decade now. It is one of the most sorted cars in European HillClimb Racing ever ;)
Fantastic. What a car, what a Driver
For god damn sure!
Always like the looks of Fiat's X1/9... but being 6'4" I just couldn't fit in them, so I never bought one.
It is a tiny thing for sure. Low center of gravity to the point of no return ;)
Now this thing looks seriously fast. Would love to have a lap time comparison to a gp race car.
That's a well executed piece of kit there 👌
Wish I had the balls to drive my aw11 like this. Awesome setup.
Wow- great combination
What a weapon
Perfecta ejecución de este piloto.
Conoce a la perfección su auto y se acopla extraordinario.
Saludos desde México
Old is gold a story thats always been told
that must be huge fun
Just BRILLIANT!
For god damn sure!
So this is a 155 2.0Ts racing engine? Goes very well and the wee fiat is well set up!
Precision excellence.
To the nth degree ;)
damn that's quick.
This thing is seriously SET UP well!

Flying Fiat!💨
My default video speednon youtube is set to 3x, and i switch to 1x for car videos. For this one, i accidentally switched to 0.75x and the tiny alpha still looked quick
Bona fide

He took off the brakes for weight saving because he doesn't use it. (joke)
