Heyy guys! My boyfriend got me a cameo of Ryan congratulating me on graduating and for getting onto my PhD. It was an absolutely wonderful gift and I just want to say thank you ❤️ I'm a massive fan of the channel! Love, Lauren
Congrats, what’s your PhD in?
@@cameron1617 Thank you! Forensic Science 👩🔬
@@calamitylol647 wow, very impressive, Dr CalamityLol
I would say agree to the Taylor swift one just because of consistency. Like Ryan said there are many other artists who are very good, but I’d argue that no one has as many consistently amazing songs that stand the test of time as Taylor.
I can think of someone. They had the best selling album of all time too.
I'd say Dolly Parton probably. Michael Jackson would be another one
The test of time that’s lasted how many years?
“ I don’t sports”. never related to someone more 😂😂😂
Something I was thinking about while they were talking about Shakespeare is how many people could very well be the GOAT of writing but their writings aren't as accessible or widely published or have been forgotten by history because of race, gender, identity, etc. If Shakespeare had been a woman would we be studying those plays in high school and would all of the movies be inspired by them? I don't think it detracts from Shakespeare's ability but it's hard to say he's the GOAT when it's likely that comparable writers have been silenced or forgotten.
*it was free stuff*
Also does anyone else feel like Sam and Ryan should do a collab with Katherine Steel??
Yes they would definitely have some nice discussions about musicals!
YES YES YES !!!!!
YESSSSSSS THAT WOULD BE AMAZING
Amy Lovatt too, could have a great conversation about Broadway vs west end
@@lilblackcat03 YES OMG YES 100% ID LOVE THAT COLLAB!!!!!!
I've quite literally been binging your videos while I'm sick so thanks for the content besties
Me tooooo 🤍
sam and ryan hit different when you're sick fr
Fun fact, Romeo and Juliet wasn't actually Shakespeare's story; at least most of it wasn't. the story of Romeo and Juliet actually came from a man named Arthur Brookes who wrote a poem called "The Tragicall Historye of Romeus and Juliet" which was published in 1562 and "Romeo and Juliet" was published in 1597; so the idea of Shakespeare's most famous story mostly wasn't his. This is just something I remember being taught in my English class, but by the chance that even the smallest bit of this is incorrect, feel free to correct any mistakes as I do not wish to spread any false information. Great video! I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I can't wait to see more of these "Disagree to Agree" videos!
You guys are so creative with your video ideas, I can tell you guys put a LOT of effort into these videos. I absolutely LOVED this video to and liked how you both explained your answers
loved this one dads!!! sondheim was my immediate first thought as the goat of songwriting
Not Ryan thinking Beyonce writes her songs 😂😂.
She's incredibly talented and a great performer, but she's notorious for demanding songwriting credits on songs she didn't have a damn thing to do with.
So he’s on Kanye west side lol
But what if, what if you actually played song association. I would love that
have you guys ever thought about starting a podcast? i could listen to you talk to each other for hours!
Allan Turing, as soon as I heard about inventions, he literally created the modern computer, which help us win the war and also he predicted AI and how computers will be able to pass the Turing test, sorry I’m a computing science student, it’s very nerdy but omg it’s so interesting
Love this video!
Can I ask if you can get miced up next time you shoot in this room? If you have the possibility, that is! I don't know if it's just me, but the sound is not great because of the acoustics. I really have to focus to understand.
Strongly agree!
Ryan I'm so glad you redeemed yourself with your explanation of why you picked strongly disagree for the taylor swift one
I love this channel and I'm a taylor swift fan so this thumbnail has me SCARED 😭🤣 (Comment made before watching the video)
not me doing a shakespeare assignment while watching this... I did steal your 'staying power' thing btw.
Love the hair Ryan, love the red tint to your hair
Hearing Sam talk about how her family struggled when she was growing up make me cry
I loooove your videos, it's like my culture source kkkkkkk. You should do a PODCAST, it would be AMAAAAAAZING 😁😁
these videos are the G.O.A.T :-)
You guys are amazing! You guys helped me at a hard time and I love you! Let's just say… you definitely did not steal this idea lol
Sam's totem is always a diet coke can. I relate, I'm fueled by coke too.
Taylor swift is a good song writer
She definitely is but other people are as well.
god I love these people and their banter
good job. you taylor swift baited me
Even though she didn’t come up here, since Ryan is a big fan of Meryl Streep, funny story related to this: During the press tour for Don’t Look Up, Jonah Hill was calling Meryl a GOAT/the GOAT and Meryl thought he was calling her an old goat, like the animal and went along with it- Jennifer Lawrence did clarify what he meant to Meryl, but that humility just further proves why she’s a GOAT 😊
Shakespeare also invented many words that everyone uses to this day
Love y’all but it was painful watching you guys talk about basketball (stephon curry? Lmao) but great video otherwise ahaha
I love that they are in spellbound haha
Omg I love y’all!! 😭🤍
Thanks to the Gilded Age, I learned Edison was not the only inventor of the light bulb.
A black man, Lewis Howard Latimer also helped create the fillament that allowed the light to light up in the first place.
Because Black inventors do not get credit here, I will credit him with Edison on inventing the greatest invention, electricity?
Or should I also credit the inventor of the traffic light? Garrett Morgan with William Potts and J.T Knight.
It is a shame I had to look these names up because we don’t learn about them in history classes.
It is hard to pick just one.
It's funny because when I saw the thumbnail for this video I also immediately thought Paul McCartney was the G.O.A.T of songwriting.
Also Shakespeare latterly invented over 100,000 words used in the modern English
When I think of basketball I think of Steph Curry Shaquille O'Neal Rajon Rondo and Paul Pierce I don't really watch basketball I'm not a fan of basketball but my cousin talks about basketball all the time
Personally think RA’s “look what you made me do is better” then Taylor’s strongly agree with Sam tho
Hii!
Thomas Edison did not invent the lightbulb
Leonardo Da Vinci is the GOAT of inventions, I will accept no other answers.
Benjamin Franklin? Not arguing, just the first competitor I thought of against LdV
62nd 😘✌
Sam.... Thomas Edison is not the inventor of the lightbulb, Nichola Tesla is. Thomas Edison marketed the lightbulb.
Hi!!!
Hello
ryan voting strongly disagree is the biggest eye roll i’ve ever experienced from him
Much love to y'all and Obama and I do think he's a wonderful person and all his legislation cannot be blamed on him (as well as the fact that there is really no perfect legislation). However I think it's a little dangerous to regard Obamacare as simply a positive when it did disrupt so many existing healthcare plans for people. I do think it broke incredible boundaries and set tremendous progress forth for universal healthcare, but I'm not sure the people's health it left in the balance at the time was worth it.
Ryan why did you cut your hair 🤦🏼
Going off the tagline:
Contenders of the greatest of all time songwriter are: no necessary order
Elton john
Billy joel
Pasek and paul
Stephen sondheim
Howard Ashman/alan menken
Zac brown
Keith Urban
Edit:
Carole king
Demi lovoto
Stevie Nicks and christine Mcvie (entirety of fleetwood mac to be honest)
Sorry the female songwriters are not popping up in my head as much as the male ones.
Etc.
Taylor swift does not even scratch the surface
We all try to forget about the abominable trauma of Trump.
first lol
