Awesome! Loading cattle doesn't usually go that smooth 😅. Just my 2 cents, next time - get you a long T post or similar that's a few feet wider than your loading isle and put it behind their butts when they walk down the isle. A lot of cows will get scared/ claustrophobic and back all the way out. Once they do that and get out, it's harder to try n make them go back down it. Love your vids, keep it up 😁
2 suggestions. Get a long sorting stick. You can touch or push them and not be close enough to be kicked. 2nd, you need a cut gate in the alley near the trailer to close behind them. One day you will have a steer balk and try to turn back at the trailer.
It seems to have worked well. You have a huge asset in that you are willing to seek and accept advice from others. I like the change you made toward greater funneling and also keeping them penned overnight. I think the overnight penning likely helped settle them a bit, so they easily accepted the morning loading pressure without getting worked up. I agree you have a new cattle skill set that can continue to be a blessing for years to come and can also grow with each year, much like your pig skills have been growing every year so that you can now teach others. You are a good man with some real wisdom.
Those are some really nice healthy looking steers. You guys did that like you were old pros. Once they get in the squeeze shoot you can lay a pipe/fence post or something across the panels (half way up perpendicular to the ground) so they can't back out.
Good job Chuck. When you have cattle broke to poly wire you can use a piece of it to sort cattle. Simply tie one end to a post and then pull it through your cattle separating what you want. It doesn’t need to be electrified.
I have to do it by my self now that I have corral panels. The first time I used a rope with 5 people but he had horns to hook on too. The second one I took was a1500 pound hoilstien with horns we had to tie him to a tree then back the trailer up then 10 people had to pull him in that cow dressed out 750 pounds hanging weight. So now I have corral panels so I can do it by my self with a cattle prod and a stick. You just have to put them in the trailer there is no other way once you have the date set. It still gives me adrenaline every time because it's dangerous sometimes they go nuts.
Sweet handling. You’ve probably seen Greg Judy’s video on quietly and slowly separating and loading cattle using a strand of polywire. Enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing.
Good job sorting and loading, nice and quiet, slower movements and cutting a few out at a time keeps it calm and much safer for everyone. I go to my barn to feed in PJ pants and farm boots sometimes too. 🤠 May want to consider finding a 2” diameter steel pipe to slide across the shute panels behind the last steer in line so they can’t back up. Then advance the pipe forward as the last steer moves forward. Saves a multitude of headaches loading in trailer or putting through a shute and into a head gate if one decides to get uncooperative. We used one when walking hogs through the shute and loading into trailer too. Made life much easier and decreased likelihood of people getting injured because an animal decided to back up at the most in opportune time.
Chuck I don't know what it's called but I've seen folks use a plastic rectangle on about a 5 or 6 foot pole to separate and move cattle. The plastic rectangle has beans or something that rattles. It does two things, keeps you out of kicking reach and gives you a longer stretch to move the steers in the direction you want them to go. Good job, cattle sorted, loaded & sent to the processor with no animals or people hurt.
great job! thanks for the video. gives me some ideas, im about to load a bull calf that we are giving to some friends. i also enjoy your farmers market videos. how about making a video on the steps you took to be able to sell your beef?. i know each state is different, but getting a general idea of what is required would be very informative. thanks again!
Have you thought about putting a little feed up in the front of the trailer to help draw the cattle in? I got that from Pete on "JUST A FEW ACRES" . Give credit where credit is due.
Went pretty smooth! Our goofy steer plowed under the temporary panels when we were working them. Check out our “bud box” and cattle pen for sorting, handling, and loading. You guys inspire us and teach us a lot, thanks for sharing so we can all learn together!
Great inspiration to watch, no horses cow dogs, just plane simple man power!!! I’m getting my list together to get moving that way. Now all I need is money. Lol. Like watch y’all’s vids. Keep up the great work
Thanks Dwayne. Appreciate y’all watching. I was wondering if anyone would notice that we didn’t make a lot of noise and force the cows to do things. Nice and quite!
hi! great work. I would encourage you to check out a bud box . there are alot of videos on UA-cam. for smaller operations and movable systems they are simple to build and work awsome. nice quiet working of your Animals. they are used to you and it shows. Good job!
Glad the loading went good brotha been watching y'all for a good while and I would still like to do some business with y'all if y'all are interested just let me now how I can get in touch thanks and y'all stay safe out there

you are so right! can't get anything accomplished sitting on the couch and not at least trying!
I did not know you had so many cows. Nice

Been watching for a while now. Thought your comments at the end were thoughtful, and wise…
Go do something and learn.
Nicely spoken

You all did a great job. Proud of you. And.... I'm a bit jealous of your grass. We are dry here in Northern California.
That went very smooth.. I wished I lived closer to come get meat.. I love yalls farm and most of all the great videos..🍀💚
They say if plan B doesn't work go back to plan A, i always love your farm and as usual a great video,
Thanks. Appreciate y’all watching
Skill increases are a great thing to have. Enjoyed the video. Keep up the work

I am so happy for you Chuck. That went so smoothly, please dont get too comfortable my friend. Working cattle inside a pin can be dangerous.

Amazing video thanks for sharing wat ur learning and helpful
Met a guy before that had a bull turn around and go crazy. He spent 2 yrs in hospital with pain killers and spinal injections

Great job fellas!
Chuck has the meats! Good stuff

Great video guys glad it worked out for you
Thanks. Appreciate y’all watching
Very nice! You’ve really added another layer to the farm.
Too bad pigs don’t load that easy.

Also have a big pole to put in behind them once they go up the shoot.
Feed them in the trailer for a couple days before you want them in, sometimes they will just walk in for you!
Awesome job

If you don’t mind me asking how much land did you run the Cattle through?.. Thanks a lot for showing us your journey it’s greatly appreciated
Wonder if you put some wheels on the gate to be able to close faster, jut a thought.
Hey guys comment a lot so this video gets more views
Yes! Please do. Thanks Brayden!!

I find cattle like to flow in circles, I set pins up in a circular pattern to take advantage of this. No hard corners.
Where’s the BEEF?? Awesome job!
Thanks JP!! Hope you guys are doing well
You should be able to load pigs and heard cats now 🤪

Which race of pigs you have
Keep it like u got it u don’t want them turn around on when u loud up in the trailer u want them to loud up like they did
If u warm them steers they will get fat they look good
They say you are more likely to get killed by a cow than a shark
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂at 5:53 ,,,,,, sorry
