For anyone who bought a crosley for Christmas or Black Friday or whatever:
Congrats! Welcome to the wonderful world of vinyl! Yes, a lot of people will tell you that these are detrimental to your listening experience and will damage your vinyl. Those people are not wrong, due to the weight of the needle (or called the tracking force) being more than what is needed for the needle to stay in the grooves it can wear away the bumps in the grooves making the sound muddier overtime. Now for someone that just wants to have some fun and enjoy the medium every once in a while, this is fine! just remember that over time it may be best to upgrade for a little bit more $ if you feel like you want to make a small commitment to the hobby.
Have fun and keep spinnin’!
I've heard the tracking force is decent enough to not ruin records! I've also heard just to add speakers and replace the needle!
kylee ren They won’t carve up your records immediately like some people claim, just be sure to change the stylus before it gets worn out. I still wouldn’t play expensive/rare records on one just to err on the side of caution however. Adding external speakers to play through will definitely help sound quality as the built in speakers are awful.
As an entry level turntable it is fine, but not something I’d recommend keeping long term unless you don’t really care about sound quality or record collecting in general. They’re good for testing the waters to see if it’s a hobby you’re going to stick with. A lot of vinyl enthusiasts need to realize that not everyone is as big of a nerd as them, some people just want to enjoy their records in a simple manner and without having to spend hundreds to thousands on a state of the art hi-fi system lol.
@@josejalaeno73 I completely agree!
well you could buy that piece of crap and destroy your records or you could pay even less and get a really high en vintage 80s turntable from ebay. I got a JVC QL-F300 for £44 and it will outperform basically anything you can get new for £400
For right now I could afford a crosley but i am saving up for an audio technica one :)
Thank you for going over everything in your review! I just got one and I've never used a record player myself before so didn't want to break it lol
Same-
Me right now💀
thats why im here😹
that sad moment when you watch this to see how it came packaged so you can return it.
LOL! I'm sorry.
Thank you for actually giving this review- A lot of the other videos were like "If you bought one, just throw jt in the trash" and its like, id like to give it a chanve before throwing 70 dollars away 😂 so thabk you, cant wait to try mine!
Glad I could help! TYSM!
thanks for this close up review. I bought a cruiser a couple of christmases ago and the plastic parts that hold the needle arm and buttons, were raised and lifted up from the base of the box. i thought it was just the way the thing was designed. this now shows me that i got a defective machine. too bad i didnt check this review sooner.
I'm sorry you got a defective machine. i do stuff like that all of the time, I get something and don't open it for a long time or don't try it out...and then I'm stuck. I'm sorry.
I didn't realize the static was normal? Now I can tell my daughter it isn't broken. Lol
I have a Crosley Cruiser Deluxe and i played my Van Halen record on it and it was amazing thru headphones i listened to the whole album front to back
Awesome! I've never had any issue sixth old albums, the only record to ever sound horrible was the Wheezer Blue album (brand new). It was so bad!!!
@@VianneyCreates rhe Van Halen album i have is their debut and ita 180gram vinyl and i had albums from the 70s that still sounded great
No offense but you probably have terrible hearing. I have had a couple of these things and they're all hot garbage. They sound terrible and they damage records. I have had 3 of these remanufactured record players. 1 was a gift, another one was on sale at a hipster clothing store, and I got 1 from a dude in a goodwill parking lot who was strait up throwing it away with a frank zappa poster.
The part when she dropped it was the best part of the video

When? I was just skipping through I ain’t trynna listen to her talk

Mine didn’t come with the rubber mat?!
Mine also came without it!!!
Same
Same :(
Same mine also didn’t come with the AC adapter
SAME WTF
I have the same Crosley brand record player and earlier today i plugged mine in and it plays old records just fine.
Right? I am playing old records, no problem. The kids love my original Disney ones from when I was a kid!!
May i ask a question? How do you put the matt ? which side is up ?
your daughter is lovely! just got my hands on one of these, and cant find the manual. So thanks for sharing that was super helpful
Just bought one today to jam to my east side story volume 1 vinyl😎
The words youre looking for are "Console Stereo" - some even had the television included. Usually an 8 track or cassette, sometimes both, a record players and usually some pretty good sounding speaker systems incorporated into the base cabinet
Awww, I still miss ours! No TV, but it was a sizable piece of furniture with radio, 8 track, and record player. (:
omg thank you for this! 🥺 going to ask my parents for one, hopefully for Christmas! This was so helpful in understanding how to use + your daughter is adorable! Btw, did you find out what way the black cover is meant to go? Super easy to understand thank you once again!
I just got one for secret Santa lol. Along with a Pink Floyd vinyl.
@carl nice
omg cool i got one + many Mariah Carey vinyls ahaha
@@tobylupin how’s the records going do u still have the radiogram probably not
whats the name of the album like the music remember you get what you pay for if your only going to use it sometime its good enough if you cant afford anything better it will due
I really want this for Christmas and I hope I get it
That’s exactly what I remember. It’s great. Thank you.
i want to go full office space on this thing. what a frankenstein's monster of a setup
If something breaks on it can you get replacement parts or or do you have to go buy a whole new one for $70
Or maybe take that as an opportunity to upgrade to a better turntable? Not necessarily new. Most vintage turntables will be fine as long as they work, and they often cost less
I got one yesterday for $30 at Walmart’s Black Friday

overall thoughts after owning it for a year? i want to purchase but i have heard some reviews that make me question it.
I used it a lot more when I first bought it, but it's still going great. The only record I picked up that sounded horribly was Weezer Blue Album. I don't know why, I can't get it to sound right. Everything else has been great.
Only buy it if you aren't looking to take record collecting seriously, if you are then save up a bit of money and but something that won't ruin your records in the long run and something that will let you experience the sound quality of vinyl much better than the small speakers on a crosley.
My 6 in 1 Art+Sound record player kept skipping and damaging my records, it was $100!! I got this record player, everything works amazingly. People keep telling me that this brand is bad, but I find nothing wrong with it.
I know, mine works great, too. Oh, well! LOL! (:
Just picked one up..it works great!
Great to hear!
"It has that staticy sound like records do..."
Mine don't Sure there's some surface noise, but no static type sounds. Just be sure to change the stylus on that regularly. A worn stylus is what damages records. They use a cheap sapphire stylus and it wears down a lot quicker than the diamond styli used in other turntables. On a diamond conical stylus like the ATN-3600L you'll get maybe 500 hours of playback. On the sapphire stylus for that turntable, more like 80 hours.
I'm not even sure the sapphire tipped styluses last 80 hours.
I make it a ritual with all my phonographs (not just Crosleys) to replace the stylus once a year, and only with diamond type, and to always have spares onhand.
I have this and mine doesn't not make the crackling noise old school record players used to make..and it's not that loud and skips a bit
On line manual says replacement needle is NP6 which is sapphire, get NP7 which is diamond. It appears this comes with sapphire. Amazon has them
TAHNK YOU THIS HELPED ME SET MINE UP
Thank you for this video!!! Just got one as a gift always wanted one
Very cool! Enjoy!
This is the worst record players in the world. You have made a huge mistake
@@keenobeast5920 oml STOP it isn’t watch “record-ology’s” video 😐
I think this is a good record player for a novice record listener. This is similar to people just starting out playing cassette tapes and this buy a small portable tape player not a big expensive setup.
Absolutely! TYSM!
So, a friend bought this for me on Christmas. And I was wondering why my arm was drifting towards the center of the vynll?
Bought one today for $11 at Walmart on clearance. Figured it'd be a nice starter turntable for my 4yr old daughter. We have a bunch of old storybooks with 45 records. Cheaper than buying an old Fisher Price record player for now.
same here because of the freebie guy i scored one for me and one for a gift
11 ? Wow
$11?
The speakers are a little quiet on mine when the volume thing is in the middle. Is it supposed to me like this? I’m just so paranoid because people are telling me crosley is a bad brand, but I don’t think it is.
I hear what you mean. Mine is ok, almost too loud. I have it upstairs and can hear it downstairs really well.
my only issue with it is hardly any bass. but i connected it to an amplifier/ receiver and that fixed that issue
WHATS THE 3.5mm auxiliary cable you need to put in the AUX input??? IDK IF I DONT HAVE IT or I haven’t to purchase it myself
if you want to connect anything to it like a cd walkman and listen to it through the built in speakers. why would you wanna do that? only you know the answer as that would be something you just wanna do
I just got a a Crowley deluxe as well. My did not come with the rubber mat.. and when I opened it looks wobbly already.. I’m see if I can buy the mat see if it helps. Thanks for your review
Did it help? I think I’m having a similar issue
Throw a UHQR 45 RPM Kind of blue in there. I'm curious to see how it sounds
I found this at an electronics garage sale for $10 each so I grabbed 3. Figured it would be a good start for my brother and temporarily for my dad until he gets his new one (the one he’s been using since the 80s), and for me to get back into. It worked fine, but some of the audio is warped on them. Are they all like this or is it just because I bought them so cheap?
My sound was warped and it skipped often
Thank you so much you explaining so good! 😘
You are so welcome!
I got mine today and for some reason the speakers aren’t working
I need help
Nevermind I went back to Walmart and I got a new one. I believe that since I got it for Christmas, they were probably on sale so people were probably moving them around a lot and maybe at some point someone dropped it and messed up the speakers.
I'm glad you were able to exchange it! Enjoy!
I got my daughter one and the turntable doesn't turn ! Any ideas..? What junk
@@georgemedina3712 hello I got one today and mine isn’t working either I was wondering what you ended up doing
Mine never came with a rubber mat
Mine either
buy one from ebay or amazon
record players are so beautiful and romantic idk i love them sm
I know this video is a year old but i bought this cruiser deluxe by Crosley for my brother on his birthday last year. He didn’t tell me anything was wrong with it until a month ago when he said he could never get to work properly. The tonearm on the Crosley slides down the vinyl way to quickly and I’m not sure how to fix it or I what I’m suppose to do. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it so I can get home to listen to the vinyls I bought him. Thank youuu
Bro, I am sure that your brother are really appreciate your gift and I am very happy and proud for what you did to your brother. But I still have to tell you some facts. Crosley or Cruise or any super cheap vinyl record will damage your records. I am not saying that it will destroy instantly. But they will significantly reduce the lifespan of your vinyl. Dont get me wrong , of course you can keep using it, but please dont play some ultra rare or expensive vinyl on this player because they deserve to live in a better place.
Same problem. Did you find any solution to this?
At the end of this month I'm gonna be ordering my Audio Technica LP60 Bluetooth record player online from Walmart
Laura Corbett you can just go purchase it
That's a good brand!
Its ok for a test run but dont use it for blue tooth
That's really a good one to have! Good luck with that
Whats the name of the record with the commerical used song
10:50 is where she gets to the point if anyone is curious.
Thank you!
Yeah I tried to use one of these and it made a crazy popping noise, and then it started smoking. Now it won’t work 😶
Why does the record stop spinning on mine? Immediately after placing the needle on the record it comes to a halt as if too heavy. It's brand new.
Luis GeeTee me too i just bought one it doesn’t spin it comes into the middle
Because Crosley cruisers are cheap
i hear the volume but it i can barley hear it what do i do
everytime i play a record with my crosley it always sounds warped, and i can't tell if it's the record player or the records themselves, but it's like that with literally every one of my records, even the new ones :/
I'm sorry to hear that.
When you plugged it has to stay like that? Or it charges and then you can use it unplugged??
It needs to remain plugged in.
Hey! Have you tried the Bluetooth function? I could use some help :(
Mine won’t spin
Is there a specific size for records that fit this record player just got one and my very first one still confused if any record will fit or if there’s bigger ones that won’t fit this
Generally records come in three more common sizes...I think those would be 45, 78 and 33. I believe they all fit on this player, as I think I do have records in varying sizes and the largest fit. I hope that info helps.
if that record is bigger than 12 inches it may not play
My wife brought me one for our anniversary for me as a gift I think it’s awesome 🤩
Mine works well, too! I'm glad you like it, too!
@@VianneyCreates does it damage records?
@@Bucky1836 yes it does
I have one. Does anyone know how to connect speakers or which speakers would work with this?
The RCA Red and White in the back. Hook that up to your receiver
Im kinda sad mine doesnt work he goes so fast over it in 5 seconds he is over the vinyl
There’s not supposed to be static.
Mandarin LEMONS some people lile the static
NATHANRIVER _ yes but there should be no static because thats just a cheap stylus scratching the record... records should be crisp and clear. Its a crappy turntable and it ruins the records itself.
Josh Carrillo you are a smart man
NATHANRIVER _ that’s the sweet noise of the needle carving into the record
The static is caused by surface scratches and imperfections on the record itself, not the needle! And she put a brand new record on there she would have heard of virtually no static at all.
Hi there...I just finally got my exact one and no rubber mat:( and also the instructions say to pull off the red part? For the needle??
Hi, I am sorry...I don't know if the mat is just missing or if it was a bonus at the time. You can play without it, it just helps the record sit better. As far as removing the red part...I don't remember. What you see in this video is how I set it up.
@@VianneyCreates ok thanks...I think the mat is necessary as the record wobbles up and down so much. Also sorry last question...did you find that you had to adjust the pitch between songs?? I had to for nearly ever different song.
Ellen philomena mine doesn’t have the rubber mat either
Thanks so much!
@@ellenphilomena4535 mine didnt come with a mat, either, which is what led me here. Didn't know if I got burnt or what? I saw you can get them cheap, but I saved this thing for spring so I could plug er up and jam while transplanting my flowers. I'm gonna try it without it, but that should DEF be something Crosley should put on the box! Mat not included...
How are you enjoying your Crosley? Does it still work well? I plan to get one in a few months
I bought a crosley a few months ago and it’s actually kinda bad, the vinyl sounds really slow (I checked and I did everything good). So you still haven’t bought a corsley just buy another company of record play.
@@user-jg4tq6tt8c I got one and after a couple months I stopped using it and then later tried to plug it in and smoke came out of the speakers but because I dont have my receipt anymore crosley says my warranty will not be upheld even though I have all the papers except the reciept and I registered the player onthe site when I got it
Mine won’t even turn on
@@deasgusting Mine basically blew up when I plugged it in after a couple months, put smoke everywhere. I'm too scared to try and get another record player since idk what brand is good. Any recommendations?
recommendations for a more long term record player???
It depends on your budget and needs. There is a dizzying array of turntables and record players out there - some really good, and others that are not much of an improvement over the Cruiser.
Audio Technica's LP-60 line is excellent for entry level. Target (the department store) sells a surprisingly good turntable called the Heyday for around $100.
Audio Technica also offers a nice direct drive model (LP-120) for around $300 as well.
All three of those use MAGNETIC type cartridges, and have built-in preamplifiers. The LP60 also sports fully automatic operation. They are not 'record players', they are turntables and require a separate amplifier and speakers.
The U-Turn Orbit is a nice rig, too - though a little esoteric. The base model starts well under $200, but does NOT include a preamp (It's offered as an extra-cost option). A fully loaded Orbit can go north of $600. It, too, requires a separate amp and speakers.
The prices, feature sets, and quality generally go up from there. I
There aren't many 'upscale' portables, I'm afraid. There were a few models but they've mostly been discontinued.
Ty so much!
This help me a lot
Mine won't even turn on
ours skipped a lot, popped too much and the sound was muffled, even with external speakers
I got us a better entry lvl player (Audio-Technica lp120xbt)
Lp120 is not an entry level quite actually. That’s a DJ-grade turntable already cause of its build, features, and price point
I just got one today and it won’t even turn on
The Crosley Crusier Plus is junk! I have had mine for 2 months now and the pitch is high on every record and the belt slips constantly. The pitch knob is basically pointless on this thing.
You’re amazing! Thank you
Wow, TY!
thank you this was a lot of help! ❤
Glad it helped! TYSM!
Hey sweet pool table!👍
Do I need to use a different needle for my 78 rpms? Those records are very old and scratchy and I don't want to ruin the stylus
I honestly don't know that, but I personally haven't switched it out.
if i were you id immediately replace the stylus with a diamond one. there are 2,3, and 4 packs on amazon for 15 bucks. also clean your records
Yes you do. If you play a 78 RPM record with a normal (33 and 45 RPM) stylus, it will damage the record and the needle.
Can’t figure out how to make min spin
Mine does NOT have a DC plug in ....
All i have on the back is USB out, RCA line out red/black, and Aux IN.
No-where anywhere on this unit is there a dc plug in for power 🤷🏽♂️

Hi Vianney. I'm sure you know by now but 33s were the larger records and 45s the smaller ones. Never saw a 78. I still have my collection of 33s and 45s. Of course that tells you I'm old!! 😜😜 TFS --- Patrice
Thank you! Yes, 78's are like the 33 size. Large, but the grooves are finer.
@@VianneyCreates Errrrrr, 78's are 10". 7" and 12" are the other two standards (and 16" for some professional transcription discs). 78's have much wider grooves. Sizes do not pertain to speed at all. 78's are always 10". But you can also have 33rpm 7's, 10's, 12's, and 45rpm 7's, 10's and 12's too.

12 inch records are 33 1/3..78s are about 10 inches wide...the small ones are the 45s....and I think your record looks warped a bit which is why it sounds wavy...its not the dial...
TY!
Some 78rpm records are 8 or 8.5 inches across and have a very tiny label in the centre. The Audio Technica LP 120 is best for those. Other turntables stop halfway through those non-standard sized 78rpm records.

There’s 4 screws you can take off and you should be able to find it. There’s some wiring connecting the board so take a flat head to pry up the board and then lift carefully. Give a lil shake. If you’re record isn’t spinning after. Look up “crosley record player not spinning” and you’ll also learn how to fix your belt that causes the platter you put records on to spin
go back to CDs LMAO

Anybody know how to fix a warped vinyl?
I recommend getting a record clamp. They are pretty inexpensive and work great.
I just bought one last night and it seems like every one of my records has a little skip in it. All the records were also bought last night. Help llease!!!
On one of my records, it’s sounds really wonky I’m not sure if it’s the record it self or what.......
You'd be treating your records better with a rake, trust me
@Thirsty boi it probably is unadjustable for the tone arm weight and the stylus is probably garbage. it would more than likely damage your vinyl buying this quality of all-in-one turntable. itl work. but its so low quality, if u care about your vinyl you'd probably not even want to submit it to playing on this setup. but if its some stuff u dont mind putting on there, as long as u enjoy it is all that matters
It’s not the best turntable and won’t sound as good as a turntable that costs 6 times more. The tracking weight is about 5 grams which is less than lps we’re originally designed for.
This won’t damage your records and the rumors that it would came from audiofile snobs that only approve of professional grade turntables

I agree with you 💯 but don’t you have to buy speakers as well?
Seriously, everyone forgets that you need to buy a good pair of speakers lmao
Can you link the Audio-Technica all-in-one system for 65 bucks?
or for the same price your could have got a high en vintage 80s Japanese turntable from ebay.

Where did u get the record ? Not the player but the record
Goodwill.
To start the hobby I guess it is Ok but a much better starting point would be an Audio Technica LP60. From there set a goal to save enough for a real turntable that allows to experiment with different cartridges and upgrades, also buy good speakers and amplifiers. Be patient, if you bought a Crosley that is Ok for now. If not, take my advice. Keep spinning!
Audio Technica needs powered speakers that would also cost quite a lot though?
Love it 😊😊😊😊😊
