Man, as a Red Sox fan I can’t be anything but happy for Sale … the one thing that’s evaded him his entire career, he finally has.
Props to you for being a good sport, I am far too petty to have that mindset if my team was paying 9 million to not have the NL Cy Young winner.
As a white Sox fan I am too, he’s still one of my favorite plays of all time
He 100% needed a fresh start somewhere else. Whether it's mental blocks or poor conditioning programs on part of the Sox' coaching (what I most suspect given the team's pitcher-injury issues for the past several years), the rebound just wasn't going to happen in Boston. Really hoping he finally captures his elusive white whale this year.

This guy gets it

I feel like this season has cemented Sale has what he was all along but often forgotten about by fans. He is one of the mostly dominant pitchers of his generation but was stuck in the shadow of Kershaw, Verlander, and Scherzer. Now he’s no longer in their shadow but standing right next to them as an all time great pitcher. Sale’s carer could have been even better if not for unfortunate injuries.
I would argue, “rightfully” forgotten about, as he was dealing with injuries and covid disrupted the world starting in 2020. 2023 was basically his first year back since 2019. That was basically his whole Red Sox contract. Kershaw, Verlander, and Scherzer owned the 2010s, as they all won multiple Cy Youngs and were on multiple playoff teams (2010s Dodgers, 2010s Nats, and early 2010s Tigers).
so early jolly give me a kiss
I honestly wasn’t surprised by this in any way, as soon as he got extended by the Braves I was like oh this dudes winning cy young. That’s just how it is for the Braves they never do anything wrong lol plus he’s an insane talent
As a Braves fan, respect for this comment. To pay it back, you guys have been playing out of your minds and if you make the playoffs this year (highly likely) it would be literally insane given you were supposed to be rebuilding for a couple more years
@@NDTexan I understand your reasons to think the Mets will make the playoffs as normal logic would say that however after so many years rooting for this franchise I know we will be swept by your Braves Monday and knocked out as how life goes!
@@TheTEN24Eh, you guys don’t know; maybe you both sneak in and the D-Backs are kicked out 🤷♂️
When Sale is healthy, he's really good. Like really good. This is just the first season in while he's been fully healthy.
The Jacob deGrom tidbit is actually wild lmao
I think Sale is also a really good guy to have in Spencer's corner as he's dealing with his injury. you've got someone who's gone through it and is proving you can come back just as good if not better
Everyone loves a good comeback story
Like Kim Kardashian
Hoping this punches a ticket to Cooperstown for him 🙏
Probably needs a couple more seasons close to this type of output. This season I think puts him right at the borderline
As a Sox fan who really couldn't be happier for Sale, I believe it is. A truly dominant pitcher, top 5 of the 2010's, and this season's comeback cements it. The ace of one of the 21st century's best teams, and even closed out the WS.
The new Tribal Cheif Chris Sale
As a Red Sox fan, we only traded him to save money. We got virtually nothing (Vaughn Grissom) in return. He's played maybe 20 games I think. If we'd had him this year, it's possible we make the playoffs.
So glad the Sox are paying Sale to pitch a cy young season for another team
I always loved his expression right before he throws the final pitch to strike out Machado. The 2 had a history and Sale embarrassed him on the grandest stage
2:41 MLB the show players who play with announcers on knew that one instantly
Baja blast is the best Mountain Dew flavor
He ate the souls of half the Atlanta roster
Future HOFer
Thanks for giving love to Chris Sale. I’ve been watching baseball for almost a decade now, and I remember when he was in his prime. I always knew he still had it in him, if he could just get healthy. Now he gets the award he’s long deserved.
P.S.? Good job Jolly in the floorball tourney so far 🥳🥳🥳
lol acting like a Cy Young is a foregone conclusion is WILD. 20+ fewer innings than wheeler, worse against elite teams than Wheeler, fewer Quality Starts than Logan Webb.
Every Sox fan should be loving this. It killed him to miss so much time for the team, but as a Sox fan I couldn't be happier seeing this for him
So many pictures revive their careers in Atlanta. I knew this was going to happen when they acquired him in the off-season.
As a Red Sox fan, and someone that's been a huge Chris Sale fan since before he was even a member of the Red Sox, I'm not surprised by this at all.. I always said "If Chris Sale can ever get healthy he's still going to dominate, if you watched the Red Sox games he still showed flashes that he still had this in him, he just wasn't healthy. Sale also is just a great pitcher, I wouldn't be surprised if he continues to dominate for another 3 years.
Every Red Sox fan I know (including myself) couldn’t be happier for Sale. Gave us everything he had.
5:32 2019 Mariners for the first month were the best team of all time. Shout out Edwin Encarnacion, Tim Beckham, and Jay Bruce.
Also, Zach Wheeler actually deserves the Cy Young this year.
had Sale come up with almost any other team than the Why Sox, he would have been dominant for years. Imagine him coming up with LA or Atlanta, with good coaching, good strength and conditioning coaching, good farm system, and good management. But he came up in a system that sees stupidity as a feature.
What team a player comes up with is as important to MLB pitchers as it is to NFL QBs.
I've always wondered if more pitchers could a la Ohtani. They had to know how to hit before coming up to the majors. If they practiced could they still do it?
Just saying? I knew Dave Pavlas before it was cool 😤 Cubs and Yankees pitcher during the 90s
I knew he gave up the homerun to deGrom because of MLB The Show 2023. I used the Rangers and every time degrom would pitch they would mention it
I'm a Red Sox and Braves so seeing Sale return to form is great to see.
As a red soxs fan, happy for sale
As a baseball fan, watching two triple crown seasons in one year is pretty dope
Sale finally getting his Cy young over another elite starter that's going to have his 2nd top 2 finish is fitting. Wonder when wheeler is finally going to get it or if he'll always miss just slightly
1:10 Eminem's been real silent since jolly dropped this
Does the cold have to do with it at all? He got hurt in boston and his first year in atl hes completely heslthy
9:08, 26 walks by Snell? Did I read that right?
mtn dew sponsorship is awesome
11:37 That call was atrocious.
Randy Johnson was a freakin monster
Greatest pitcher I've ever seen in person.
why did I have to drop him from my fantasy team 😢
Thanks for such a dope video
Now all he needs is 3000k to get in the hall of fame
Let’s goooo
Finished. The. Story.
WE LOVE SALE
sweet
Wheeler's going to make it close, but I do think Chris has this. Also, 🎶Adrenaline in my soul...🎶
Something something Cody Rhodes
Sorry a$$ dodgers could've had him ,but they always rather sign injury prone players and an unproven rookie japanese pitcher
he was already a superstar in japan and had six years of experience in a league that is just as good as the MLB, especially as it integrates more
Its insane Sale is doing this in his walk year too whomever gives him his next contract better pay him what hes worth.
Braves actually gave him an extension for next year with '26 club option before the season started.
The Braves had to sacrifice the health of their entire roster in-order to get Chris Sale healthy enough for a Cy Young
It's really so sad to hit on Lopez and Sale while everyone else goes down. I just keep thinking what could have been...
What's crazy is Zach Wheeler has had a fantastic year and in any other season would be an easy Cy
It's not even close to Chris though when you actually look at the numbers. He's been THAT good.
For the stat nerds, the craziest number this season is that he leads the second best in all of baseball at FIP (Skubal) by a ludicrous .50 lol
I'm happy for sale. Glad he's doing well
Wheeler is the cy young
Yeah no. Sorry dude.
I need to see this guy pitch in the playoffs. Lets go braves 🪓
