Once my friends told me a story about their mega-bass project. They took a steel rope, tied one end to a tree and another to a truck, then bashed it with log while trying to control pitch with car. Eventually, this did not work out at all and ended with a broken tree.
As funny as that is and it is djent needs to stop before someone finds the brown note and becomes the most infamous fad on the internet

a double bass is tuned the same way as an electric bass, same octaves too.
oh dammit I didm't know there already was such thing as a double bass other than for the drums. Where I live it's called Kontrabass.
phunmaster2000 Actually, Infinity's got it right. A double bass/contrabass is a 40" scale, so you can go to a much lower pitch than you normally would on a bass guitar.

What is djent? And why those it look so easy?
it is a very difficult genre of music to master, yet is INCREDIBLY easy to play once you have practiced long enough, it gets mocked by the community alot, especially its own community lol
I wouldn't really classify this so much as djent, there aren't enough polyrhythms. Go check out Ragnarok by Periphery for some real djent.

Jordan B As the name suggests, multiple rhythms playing at once. Basically it's still the same time signature, but the accents are in different spots, giving a very off beat feel. A lot of djent bands also use polymeters, that's when more than one time sig is being played eg. 9/8 guitar with 4/4 drums.
***** If only someone gave me that explanation whit started searching for rhythm ideas. Took me a few months to get the difference of polyrhythms and polymeters.

1.- This doesn't sound like djent, at all.
2.- This style of "humour" got old really fast.
The thing is, I don't know why there is such a stigma against djent, when there are many bands that have the original style and do it fucking well. Meshuggah, Periphery, Vildjharta, After the Burial, Monuments, TesseracT, Animals as Leaders, Volumes etc... And yet, all most people think djent is is this shit, when it clearly isn't. I challenge someone who rips on djent to listen to Periphery's self titled album, The Joy of Motion by Animals as Leaders and Catch Thirtythree (holy fucking shit) by Meshuggah and tell me that it is as easy to write/ play as everyone says it is.
