I love these story-vids where I don't actually have to watch the screen. I can relax in bed at night to it, listen with earphones while I'm walking etc or have it on in the background while I'm working. Plus your accent, voice and tone is calming and relaxing to me. I love Fascinating Horror and I am happily subscibing to this too.
You are so relaxing to listen to- a great voice for spooky stories indeed. It's nice to hear you narrate something without true stakes. Can't wait to hear what you do with this channel!
A great, and still chilling, classic story, read wonderfully. Thank you for uploading! Please keep these fictional horror stories coming. :) Also, I can't help but feel terrible for the mother in this tale. Granted, I wouldn't want to see what was behind that door either, but still... her grief was driving her mad.
I absolutely ADORE this! One of my favourite UA-cam narrators, now in a new context! I’m a lover of HorrorBabble and TheDarkSomnium, so this is basically my fantasy crossover! 😂
Thank you for sharing more narration with us! As many have said you truly have a great voice and it's wonderful that you've chosen to share things like this with us
Wow - that was fantastic! You read that disturbing story SO well! Not surprising as your narrations are top-notch! Best of luck with your new channel and I am looking forward to more.
This is the first video I've watched on this channel. I forgot I had my playback speed set to 0.25x from a previous video, and thought you had taken a VERY avant garde approach 😂 I'm sure this channel is going to be a huge success, I write short stories (more 'spooky' than outright 'horror') and have found there's a lot of demand out there for decent content. Good luck!
That was close! My Grandmother read me that story when I was ten year's of age. The year was 1971. Excellent narrative. You definitely have talent. Actually I've listen to this 3 times by other UA-camr's. I have to admit, all of you are very good. Please continue. You are very very good.
so his last wish was for his son to disappear again? is there any interpretation that indicates what the consequence of him being alive again would've been or what the consequences of the father wishing him gone might be?
I just randomly came across this while looking for an audiobook to listen to and as soon as it started playing I realized you're the Fascinating Horror guy!!!! I've been subbed to FH for years, so this just made my night! 😂❤❤
“I know a wish that CAN’T fail! I wish for a turkey sandwich, with lettuce, tomatoes, and mustard, on rye bread, AND-with no mayonnaise, and-AND, I don’t want any ‘zombie turkeys’, I don’t want to turn into a turkey myself, and I don’t want any weird surprises, you got that!?” **monkey paw curls its last finger and a sandwich appears before me** 🥪
Okay, no zombie turkeys...but you neglected to wish for no ZOMBIE TOMATOES!!! And now those tomatoes are coming to eat our brains!!!!! Oh fate, she is a delicious but cruel mistress!!
Omg!!! I love your work so much, it helps me relax, helps me sleep, helps me focus. This new channel may become my favorite. Thank you so much for your work!
I remember reading a couple of stories from a "Pan book of horror" when I was in my early teens (in fact, I was told off by the girl guide leaders as I'd read them out loud and some of the younger girl guides couldn't sleep!) The titles were "the fur brooch" and "I'll never leave you - ever" I'd love to hear these narrated (assuming they're as good as I remember them to be!)
I heard this story when I was young and the final scene has always stuck with me. The mental image of this young man, broken and mangled, in excruciating pain, having somehow clawed his way out of his own grave... oddly, I remember a different ending. The way I remember it, the woman was able to open the door and see what was left of her son. She dropped dead on the spot from fright. And for each wish, the monkey's paw curled one finger inward. I don't know if that's a real version or just a childhood misremembering, though.
Amazing project! I like it very much! This is one of my favourite tales. I often think of it when I wish for something... "Be careful what you wish for 'cause you might just get it" If you accept suggestions, I propose "Nightmare in Yellow" by Fredric Brown (one of my favourite writers, who masters the art of short stories) Looking forward to see what you bring to this channel! Greetings from Barcelona, Spain!
I'm still curious about what would've happened if the corpse of their son had gotten inside. Would it have been like "Pet Sematary", possessed by something evil and killing people? Would it have been an animated, mangled body, wishing for death, but reluctantly alive by magical forces no one understands, like in, "Tales from the Crypt" (1972)? Or would it have just been their son, crushed and deformed by his accident, but alive once more?
I was thinking about a monkey's paw the other day after I saw the video of a man getting arrested. The police officer said, while patting the suspect down, "I have to check you for items that you may uses as weapons, drugs, or possibly escape.". I thought to myself, "I should carry a monkey's paw in my pocket" to see ur they'd take it if I get arrested upon return to America
I wonder if….spoilers the man killed his son twice or actually saved his wife’s life. Part of me wishes hard for the latter since the former is far more horrific.

I agree
Proper ghost stories. Brilliant.
More please ❤️ sometimes the true stories are a bit depressing if I listen to too many in a row, fictional horror stories are perfect!
Great point

This story has always given me the chills! You tell it so well! Thank you! Keep up the great work!
My grandfather, born in 1916, told me a variation of this story. Thank you for such a gift
I remember hearing this story long ago. The conclusion is properly haunting. A real classic indeed.
Thank you, Kristian. Excellent!
Very nicely done. You have a perfect voice for narration. Keep the stories coming!
You are my favorite narrator ever. Thank you for this channel!

I could listen to you read the telephone book Kristian!! Best of luck on your new endeavour sir~ 🌟 Joan
I love that this channel exists! You are a very engaging narrator.
This was simply fantastic, keep this going
Yay! I am incredibly excited for your narrative in a longer format! I know anything you set your mind to will be brilliant!
That was a really great short horror story and well narrated. It reminded me of Algernon Blackwood's short stories.
Excellent narration.
Love it! This is fantastic! I certainly wouldn't be adverse to longer stories either, great for listening to while doing housework and such 😁
Love the story! You have the voice to read the dictionary and it would be soothing. Can't wait to listen to the rest of your stories on the channel.
You are a very unappreciated speaker. Love your reading series. God bless you and yours.
such wonderful content narrated by such a phenomenal creator. love this and i look forward to everything you put out!

This channel’s existence makes me so stupidly happy 😅
Such a classic!

As a fan of Edgar Allen Poe, this was the first story i read way back in 1966.
Poe did not write this
@@joenickell6323 My mistake. For years I thought he wrote it. Thank you for clearing my head.
It was still the first scary story I had read.
Omg!!! I love your work so much, it helps me relax, helps me sleep, helps me focus. This new channel may become my favorite. Thank you so much for your work!
Enjoyed this thoroughly. Looking forward to more.
I’m really enjoying your fiction content!
Wow ... perfect
Ok, I’m hooked. Subbed! ❤

Great decision, i look forward to listening to them all.
I've seen parodies and jokes about the monkey's paw, but god that was harrowing!
My mom told me this story, with sound effects, when I was seven. I haven't been the same since. :0)
Thank you i enjoy listening to you what a great idea that you have come up with

I already enjoy your other channel about disasters. Then you have this new one with the eerie content. Excellent narration! 😁
This was great. It will go well with your other channel. Good stuff sir. Keep them coming.
Amazing narration

Chills, well done! ❤
i’m so happy you made this channel :’)
Great voice. I thought you sounded a bit like the guy from Fascinating Horror channel. This was a great listen for Halloween this year 👌🏻
Very nice reading! You would be good at narrating audiobooks. ❤

Wow thats some black mirror level of disturbing
I wonder if a subtle drone sound would enhance or hinder the narrations
Excellent job. Perhaps some Edgar Allan Poe?
I wonder what the old man’s third wish was…
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOO
I wonder if….spoilers

@@light_s_daughter it's all good I liked it haha
I thought he wished for his mangled son to go away again.
I hope this channel provides you more opportunities to narrate professionally.
