I think Bob may have misspoke when describing the switch for ohm load... the bottom would be 2 ohm, 4 +4 ohm cabinet. He said the middle setting would a 8 ohm with a 4 ohm, that would be the top switch setting according my owners manual and amp. The middle setting is for 8 ohm or 4 ohm. Anyways I love Bob and GK!

Guess I’m wrong again lol. Both are in my sweetwater cart. Just gotta figure out the one. Thanks.

Bought the 1200 fusion head, 2x12 and 1x15 Neo cabs. Sounds good. The cabs don’t come with slip covers. Disappointing considering how expensive they are.

YUK. Absolute YUK. There was not one solitary moment where I thought, Gees that sounds almost ok. Each and every adjustment made me want to cringe. Like chomping down on a roll of tin foil. Harsh I know but that's where I'm at with Class D amps. I'm simply more interested in the tone shaping abilities they do not produce. All the efficiency of today's technology, its lightweight, compact, glorious advancements are completely negated by such sterile, overly hifi preamp sections.

I recently purchased a slightly used Fusion 500S and I am loving the flexibility of the tone variations that I am able to get out of it with my upright acoustic bass or any of my passive or active bass guitars. It is absolutely wonderful. I have a problem with the footswitch. As soon as I insert a a known good mono cable (2-conductor tip/sleeve 1/4" plug) into the footswitch jack the amp instantly switches to the overdrive channel regardless of if the footswitch is connected to the other end of the cable. With the footswitch connected, the LED on the switch toggles off and on, but does not switch channels on the amp. Is there a special cable required for the footswitch? I have emailed GK Customer Service twice regarding this but have not heard back. Thanks for this video.
Don’t know if GK will still be reading these comments a year on but if anyone else out could advise that would be really helpful too. I’m looking at getting the Fusion 1200S head with the Neo IV 212 4ohm and 112 8ohm cabs. My question is, that cab config would have a 2.7ohm load so the head would put out 950watts. My concern is that the 112 is only rated to 400watts and I wouldn’t want to risk damaging it. For context, I will be running the rig at high volume hence the relevance to my question. This will not be me tinkering at low volumes in my bedroom! So is the 112 at risk of overload is my question? Cheers
The NEO IV 112 will handle that rig just fine! The Fusion 1200S has two power amps, so you will be putting the NEO IV 212 into one channel drawing about 600 watts and the NEO IV 112 into the other channel drawing about 300 watts. It's actually the perfect setup for that amp since each speaker will be putting out roughly 300 watts. Let us know if you have any other questions!
Got the rig now and gigging it. Really impressed with it. Build quality is first class. Sound quality is amazing. And it really does have enough power for any situation. Plus it’s tiny compared to all the other heads I’ve owned. The cabs are equally as good. I’m getting compliments from audience members on how it sounds and how it looks too. The Legacy 500 or 800 with a CX 210 or CX 410 would be a great rig to start with. It would be able to handle any practice situation and most gig situations. If a combo is more your speed, you can't go wrong with the MB 212!

@@barondavis5692 we would recommend the 800, only reason for the 500 is if you just don't ever think you'll need the extra headroom/volume and wanted to save a little

I have the 1200s model and the chassis gets hot to the touch while the unit is on. Even if I am not playing anything through it. It is not hot enough to burn you but hotter than warm. Is this normal?

If this had a power switch on the front I'd buy one. It would be a huge pain trying to turn it on or off when mounted in a rack
Leave the GK power switch in the "On" position, and power it up with a rack mounted Furman power conditioner.

GK support got back to me and stated that the heat sinks are mated to the chassis to dissipate heat and this is normal.

It took me a long time to find my tone with the 1001rb, now it's starting to take a dump on me and they discontinued it.
