I am thrilled to find you and wonderful tips. I own a small home. And on a fixed income. This is exactly what I need to help make my home cozy and enjoyable.
I agree about buying high quality basic everyday items, I add character and individuality with thrift finds and occasional furnishings, I love to mix and match
Such wonderful tips, I agree 100%~ We invested in our couch many years ago....and have had it recovered twice over the years (adding to the cushions to keep them super full and soft.) We will never regret that purchase! We did the same with towels, and have been using the same ones for years now (we bought an off white color.) Fantastic video!!
Great video! Most furniture and art that I've purchased are 2nd hand and very unique. Lately I've had great luck finding original oil paintings in an antique mall that I occasionally go to. I just picked up 4 paintings (good sized ones) , which were marked down to $8.00 each! The frames on them are stunning as well and would have been quite costly on their own. I enjoy them so much and they are one-of-a-kind.
Very interesting video, thanks. I do try and follow the same principles but I have a tendency to choose unusual coloured towels that don't work when I repaint so I'm trying to be more neutral. I grew up in a 70's house with crazy coloured/patterned towels though so it's hard to buy a neutral 😂 I wish I hadn't bought my wooden tv stand and had done something modular with USM Haller or similar. Maybe it's time to start selling stuff on FBM...
Haha thank you! I totally get it. And also I totally encourage selling on FBM I think its fun to swap things out from time to time and try new things and getting some money for your old stuff is a great way to do it!
Towels, I totally switched to woven Turkish towels. They are light, dry quickly, don't get put in the drier, improve with time. In my house towels will start to smell moldy in summer, they are so heavy to carry to the laundry and not energy efficient to dry. Buy the best quality ones.
Love the Linen!! I have experimented with the lighting, and I love it also!! I changed my light bulbs for all LED bulbs throughout the house and outside and cut my energy bill in half!!
Love your site! I need to design my many cookbooks... I like to read them and some I cook out of, but I just rotate them currently. Love to see some style for them...
Hi Tracy! I have not put out a kitchen or breakfast nook video yet. I’ve actually been working on this for a while now and hopefully will get them out in the near future. Just super stuck creatively haha I’m still searching for the best solutions :)
@@livingwithlk I was thinking one of those Formica topped kitchen tables with all the chrome legs and trim would be a classic Mid-Century style. Of course it seems you really gravitate towards wood, and there are so many sleek wooden kitchen tables of that era out there. I am looking forward to seeing what you finally decide on.
I bought a wool rug without knowing it was wool. It was the perfect rug for my living room and I just loved it. Big mistake! It constantly sheds (balls up) so annoying. Not sure if it’s fake wool or what. I’ll definitely pay more attention to the material next time. Thanks for all the great advice ❤
This can happen! However I have purchased wool rugs where that doesn’t happen. a lot of it has to do with the pile and weaving. the brands I mentioned are ones that I’ve had success with and haven’t had major shedding! my bedroom one from rugs usa sheds so minimally I love it
Loved this video LK! Quick question for someone that loves the look and convenience of leather but has never had it in my home, does it stick to your legs? I'm afraid it wouldn't be comfortable for that reason
Haha I get it! This buffed leather couch I have doesn’t have that problem. It’s similar to nice leather seats in a car. I haven’t ever had sticking issues with any leather products in my home. I have experienced that on shiny leather couches before though if it’s a hot day or something lol but otherwise no!
Depends on the room and what I was looking for! I always try shopping secondhand first as I mentioned, but these ideas are more focused on what I am willing to spend money on when it comes to buying something brand new vs. me holding out for something cheaper or secondhand. I also love to shop holiday sales to get the better deals
I think you have a good design style. I personally am not a fan of that modular system that you showed, it looks cheap. The Ikea furniture looked better.
Haha I have totally done this! I do a lot of gardening and sometimes need to shower later in the day after doing so. I also used to shower in the morning after the gym, and then later at night if I had gone out and needed to rinse off!
I would live linen too if Ibgsd a company send then to mem yiu scrolled very quickly over prices…I get it but right idea is good. A 15% d😮scount almist pays for the tax and shipping.cusrs for us. Nice..thiygh
As I mentioned Gail, I’ve been purchasing linen for years now and I’m a fan for the reasons I talked about at length. The prices are available on their website and it’s a great perk to not have to pay tax and shipping on an item! But of course, you don’t have to purchase them, and this video was not sponsored.

I have bought several original pieces of art for a song at estate sales. I agree, support your community or local artists wherever possible.
Yes! I love finding those chic cheap pieces secondhand to add character and personality.

absolutely! I think all the secondhand finds are perfect for layering in the personal and eclectic vibe
tbh this is such a good comprehensive video i wish i had the money for all of it
That’s why I miss Lay Away

I agree in purchasing nicer bedding and towels you definitely feel the difference 😊
100%!
So glad I found your channel! 💜
Yay! Hi and welcome : )
All our rugs are wool. Just a note.. they do tend to shed so much at first so just be ready for that. Thx for another great video. 👍
Yes! Thank you! My new bedroom rug is wool and the shedding has been very minimal

That’s an incredible price.
I think you are great! You are soft spoken and I love watching you. Your ideas and your makeover videos are fantastic.

I always look forward to you posting on Sunday. Great video.
Aw thanks Bonnie!
Thanks for all the tips 😊 great video.
I'm glad you found the tips helpful! Thanks for watching!
Very good information and certainly makes sense. The linens especially worth investing in quality, great points.
Love your site! I need to design my many cookbooks... I like to read them and some I cook out of, but I just rotate them currently. Love to see some style for them...
Happy Sunday beautiful 💜
Can I have the link to your top? So cute!
Thank you! I checked but its not listed for sale anymore : ( It was from Levi's!
I’m new to this channel, has LK decorated the kitchen yet? I would love to see her take on a med-century/Spanish revival kitchen.

supporting MFPA usa when choosing art would also be. a good idea as you are helping the talented people who paint with their feet and mouth,.
Donate towels to animal rescues - we have several in our area that are always needing bedding 🙂
Great idea!

What would cut cost on?

QUALTIY classic Timcast IRL episode. Solid content great wide ranging discussion.
Thank you!
I take all linen that I no longer use to local animal shelters and vets.
aw that’s a sweet idea! thank you!!
I think you have a good design style.
I personally am not a fan of that modular system that you showed, it looks cheap. The Ikea furniture looked better.
Thank you! But I have to say -- no way! Its so cool and not cheap at all.. maybe you'd need to see it in person but I think its so timeless and chic
Give you old towel to animal places, like the pound.
Wait wait wait who’s taking 2 showers a day??
