Ya it’s beautiful. Person inadequately raised with only Bible Principals and church friends can’t hack it in the real world and runs back scared. Never fully growing up into a free thinking adult.

Society historically has understood that for men, unrestrained aggression is dangerous.
Now, society is finding out the equivalent for women, unrestrained vanity. As parents we need to help our daughters, of which I have 3, understand the love of their parents, family, and most importantly their Heavenly Parents love and approval is enough.
    Welcome back Mandy ❤

Mandy, thank you SO much for your bravery and openness. Your story touched my heart and tugged at it. My two oldest children have 100% cut me out of their lives. I divorced their dad when they were teens and they never forgave me. Every night I weep over the loss of the my children. I was disfellowshipped from the church, and took a break, though I never stopped believing in the Savior. I'm just getting back into fellowship.
Stay strong. Something I've learned is that God is more interested n our growth than our comfort; excruciating as it is. We have lessons to learn and when the time is right the blessings we are seeking will come. My prayers are with you and your family..

I've wept over my mistakes. I feel so broken at times but it has made me really seek after the Savior. His peace and love are beautiful. We will get through it with Him.

The thing that's so beautiful about her experience is that she failed so often yet she was still able to be transformed through the Savior. That doesn't mean that once we can reach a point like that we are good for life, but the fact that we can make 180's and change for the better at any point in our life is a powerful testimony of the transformative power of the atonement of our Savior.

I cannot get past the rejection you got for your mom. Of all the parts of your story that breaks my heart the most! When you got out of prison and it other times you needed. Love, support and direction. That's when she needed to step in. I'm trying hard not to judge her, and you did not throw her under the bus! You were very respectful. But I have not stopped thinking about your story and your mother. I had a son on drugs for 15 years. I thought he was going to die on the streets of Las Vegas. But when he decided to get clean for real, we were there for him. We helped her with a job with a car with an apartment. He could have made it without us. I am so proud of you and pleased with your life. You are an awesome person and I hope and pray you will reconnect with your sons and they will know how lucky and truly blessed they are to have you as a mother. You brought them into this world and you deserve to have a relationship with them and to love them.

If only every member would take this admonition (below) to heart rather than waiting for “rock bottom,” to reach out… the church membership would be the sanctified ones ready to receive the Savior on Earth today.
“…when you reach up for the Lord's power in your life with the same intensity that a drowning person has when grasping and gasping for air, power from Jesus Christ will be yours...When you spiritually stretch beyond anything you have ever done before, then His power will flow into you."

Mandy...thank you so much for sharing your amazing story and life with us! I found it so inspirational and wish you, your husband, and children the best. The temple unites families, and I am confident that as you make the temple a consistent part of your worship, your mother's heart will melt and you will be able to see your children and be a part of their lives. Ashley...thank you for reflecting the light of the Savior and for bringing these stories out so those who have been lost may be found. Hooray for Israel!

Mandy! Your story is amazing and it gives me so much hope for my neighbor who has some similar struggles. No jail or anything, though, although his mom spent much of his growing up years in jail herself. I just continue to try to show love so he knows that someone cares even when he's doing things he knows he shouldn't. I don't treat him any differently than I did before he went off the deep end. I know his great worth even if he doesn't see it right now. It pains me to see the change in him but I know that there's hope especially when I listen to stories on this channel. So thank you also Ashley! Your channel strengthens me and my testimony.

Nevermo here. I'm just really irritated that her mother, who had a past like her mother did, and separated from her when thankfully her loving Dad stepped in...that she to the taping of this episode was treating her that way! You both are lovely, thank you for the vid. 🙏

A religion addiction is certainly a bit healthier than a drug addiction. Though in both cases, one is still under someone else's control and losing money to them.

I agree with this comment. I ultimately had to have faith in myself. It was better than drugs, booze, or religion. But I guess being addicted to a particular religion can be a decent solution for many. I’m happy she found something for her that works.
