What an amazing story of faith and perseverance in spite of such trauma and abuse. Jesus truly can help us overcome anything. Thank you, Cheryl, for sharing your story.
Wow, this lady said she can see people who are "bright and shiny"! This is a gift I am blessed with, too. I've never actually heard of anyone else with this particular gift of the Spirit!
My mum abused me when i was young and she joined the church and took me i told the bishop she was excommunicated and i have been in the church 60 yrs now and thank God for taking me out of the home of abuse when i was young 🙏 i know the church is true
I love this precious sister. I am over the moon happy for her and so proud of her for sharing this message. She has helped me in ways I wasn't expecting through this story of her life. What a delightful spirit she offers!!
This a beautiful testimony of someone who chose to rise above the hurt and pain that had been inflicted on her in her youth. God loves you Cheryl and God bless you for being forgiving. ❤
I did the temple work for my mun that abused me and was an excommunicated member and she passed away but she has another chance to repent in Heaven now i have done the temple ordainences for her and have a good loving mum if she excepts i think she will what a wonderful church we have and knowledge of God
Thank you so much for sharing your message, and I am so sorry that you have to go through this thank you for making us stronger God be with you all ways 😊👏❤️
A very important highlight in this sisters reconversion story is the people who were decent to her. As no one knew what was really going on to her in her "LDS" home, all blame for her attitude was placed on HER shoulders. But God knew the truth. I cried, laughed and thrilled at the story of this dear sister!! She is the ROCK 🪨!! And I will try to be that serendipitous olive branch that God uses to lift others. Sister, your story will make a difference for many!! God be with you as you heal and triumph against all odds!! ❤️ Your my example of TRUE GRIT!!
I love your story. Unfortunately my niece left the church 3 years ago after she came out as gay. The stuffed up ward she was in our in West Jordan ostracized her so bad she left the church. Including two of her sisters. I would love to share your story with her. My brother is just beside himself. I just keep have patience just keep loving. That’s what Jesus would do!
My bishop didn’t believe my sexual abuse either, and then blamed it on me. I’ve heard dozens of stories now where bishops hear the abuser confess over and over, but nothing is done through the years to protect the child.
Children of abuse, in or out of family, as some of have been were told we’d be in trouble if we told the police - even as an adult I couldn’t call them. It’s important people understand that so they can advocate for children. As leaders of the church we are mandatory reporters.
I am grateful for Cheryl's story. Thank you for sharing My heart aches for the pain she suffered and my heart rejoices for the goodness of those who have encouraged and empowered her. 😢Truly, if someone yells at me in anger because they are in pain, I am not able to respond as several of these remarkable people in this story have. I don't ever recommend taking anger out on another person, as we are all fighting such a huge battle. May I suggest yelling and screaming at God and not vulnerable people?
What a wonderful testomony of God and the Holy Spirit they new your loving heart and inspired you to pick up the baby so the parents could show their love to you and Jesus loves you very much the church is truth

I wish your dad would have gone to prison to protect the grandkids and ward kids.
Abusers usually don’t just abuse one child.
