I had forgotten how relaxing it was listening and watching April Tie.
Excellent instructional video. You not only told the "where fors" but the "whys" in an easy to understand fashion. Thank you.
I've been asked to tie my landlord some Tubeflies, this video answered a lot of questions for me.
Many thanks April, you've now got a new subscriber. 👍
Excellent tying tip at 9:03. A good video for people who are intimidated to tie Steelhead flies because of the fear of needing a ton of fancy feathers and expensive materials. Appreciate the simplicity.
Thank you for this style tying video April. It is my favorite video so far of yours that I have watched thus far. I am learning to tie flies, so this video in particular with a slower pace of explanation, the close ups, and different camera views, editing etc were great! Keep them coming!
Simplicity while focusing on technique... nice reminder and good looking fly in the end... sparse is the name of the game here... and you show how to do it well... Thank you for sharing, and nice to see you back posting.
April, thank you for sharing.
Great tie and excellent instructions, thanks April.
You are a great teacher!
I learned so much from this video. You made tying tubes so easy. Thanks for sharing!
Great tie and excellent, articulate instruction! Thank you for the great video!
Love me some April Vokey, so damn talented/knowledgeable 😍
Thanks for the great hints.
Excellent vid. Great detail & tips on the tie instructions & the materials. It kills me to waste any material. I envy your general location.
Great job Kudos April
Great video, April! Thank you!
Thanks Nicole! Happy you enjoyed it!
Nice fly
Well done.
great video, Thanks for sharing! I cant imagine tying in the wind 😳
WoW that was a lot of info!! 👍🏻
she's a real PRO 👌
More tying videos April. 🤓 cheers!
Love it! Concise and easy to understand. (Love the tip of "no more than 3".) Can't wait to tie my first tube fly. 👍
Been tying for over 25 years on hooks , and shanks and have decided to start tying tube flies , yours are the first videos I watched on tying tube flies after reading about all the tubes , heads connections , hooks etc . Well for me you have managed to take the mystery out of it in two videos , thanks I am a firm believer of the KISS method of learning. The problem living in Montana is getting the materials like Lady Amherst , silver pheasant , Rea jungle cock and even tube tying materials, I guess that’s why we have the internet unfortunately like most tiers I like to look and feel the materials when I am selecting them . Any advice on good suppliers ?
Happy Trails
Thanks for posting this! This was excellent and really informative.
The hat you wore in the video is really cool as well. I did a quick search and couldn’t find it online. Do you mind sharing where you got it?
April, you are a very talented and pretty lady!
magical tie by a magical lady -
the eyes make it look nice fly
Damn, she is good!!
Where did you get your tube adapter for your vise?
I really enjoyed your video..
What kind of vice are you using?
Peak
Where can I buy Rhea? Amazon only sells Ostrich feathers.
Благодарю тебя, Эйприл! Класс! 👍😘
April I adore you)))
очень хорошо)
At video April!
Great technique about three raps
perfect tankiou
Hey April, you forgot the conehead🤗♥️
Hey April how do you tie in a hook on a pre tied tube fly that you get at a fly shop? When I bought the tube flys some had hooks tied in already and some where just rubber banded to the side. Any information would help.
Sounds like you bought shank flies not tube flies. Tubes the leader passes through the tube and then tied to a hook. Shanks have no hook but are tied in before fly material with braid or other lines through eye and shank protruding back an inch or so from fly materials
@@impfy55 yeah I don't know just getting into spey fishing could be
this lady reminds me of a kindergartner teacher.
I know! I don’t know why it all came out like that! 🤦🏻♀️. Must’ve been prepping for the baby in there 😆
I am here for the Spanish fly.
the one that she told u to stay away from is good for othe flies that dont require you to use alot
Hey April I can't remember which video you said this but it was along the lines of "sure you'll catch more fish on a gulp minnow and lure fishing bring in more fish"... this is incorrect. I run an 8wt for large streamers like dungeons and game changers. I also run heavy butt section floro leaders and dropper rig one large game changer on a no slip drop knot. Then uni tie 18 inch down another drop loop with a smaller streamer to another drop loop to another smaller streamer. The other day I caught three smallmouth bass on this. Among the crowd of ppl on My river with locals using lures and spinning reels I now get negative vibes from all of them because I outfish all the lure guys and even the live bait users. With the correct combination of flies on a dropper fly fishing catches more fish just by numbers alone. Hopefully you see this and I'm gonna copy and paste this if I can somehow find your email info. You're awesome and thanks for being the best UA-cam guide in fly fishing!
She could read the phone book and I’d listen
Young lady I have a fly tying story that few people know..You've heard of the legendary Gary Borger I'm sure but you probably don't know he invented the fly known worldwide as the Wooly Bugger. Originally, of course, it was called the Wooly Borger but the fly fisherman from New England owing to their new England speech impediment pronounced it bugger and today that's what it's called. None of this true of course but I'm bored and can't wait for opening day in trout town U.S.A.
interesting!!!
anchoredoutdoors.com/nymphing-with-dry-flies-gary-borger/ he’s such an interesting man!
I don’t know why, but jungle cock “eyes” do look remarkably like real fish eyes in the water.
JC added to many flies just makes them look awesome..like high heels on a chic..
Why is she talking to us like we are doing a yoga class?
felt like she was teaching a fly tying class to grade schoolers. couldnt get into it at all
Ha! It really does. I’m 7.5 months pregnant here, I must have been practising.
Yep all wrong, these are not tube flies they are rainbow lures, I know we invented them.
What are you even saying ?
Looks better as a blonde
