I bet you Void made the sacrifice knowing he'd walk out of it not only as a member of the Godhand, but the only member of the Godhand. I think Void was counting on the Skull Knight's reaction, killing the old Godhand and losing himself the Berserker, hence the foolish king comment. It would also give Void the deciding hand that would shape the future lineage of the Falcon of Light in the manner he wanted.
Honestly, I think Gaiseric's Queen was Dannan's mother, rather than Dannan herself, with Skully Boy being her father. Remember that it's heavily implied that Gaiseric invaded Elfhelm in the past, and political marriage to stop war has been a thing throughout history. And Puck also mentioned that there was a heavy elven aura around Skull Knight, and while that could just be because of his armor's origin or just spending time in Elfhelm, I personally think that's somewhat anticlimatic. Also, her ears seem to become pointed in a manner similar to the elves (and unlike how humans like Guts or Griffith in this verse have pointed ears) Regardless, Gaiseric's Queen definitely had some connection to Elfhelm, her fairy themed jewelry is in full front view, there's no way Miura didn't intend for us to look at it
1. There is no need for forced modern political correctness in the berserk universe 2. The ceremony 1000 years ago was and is very different and we cannot draw parallels to the extent you are because of causality. Guts himself is a being that doesn't follow the same rules as everyone else because he is a wrench in the carefully constructed system of causality. So everything that guts did and continues to do has a ripple effect
I don't think the "repeating design motifs" are there at all, or at least not to the degree which people seem to think. She's a woman with boobs therefore she must be connected to Slan? I mean that's just kind of a weak link. I really think these Godhand are unique. There might be a connection there but I think a lot of people are overreaching
i personally figured that the type of eclipse was unique to the person. Griffith it was faces because of all the people he had stepped over and killed and those who died to achieve his goals. where as maybe for Void, tentacles might imply that he was someone who was cunning and had his "tentacles" in every pot so to speak. i personally thought that at looking at the original godhand that the skull knight might have killed the rest of them, and so new ones are chosen
not trying to jab here, the race representation commentary is simply unnecessary & bit petty imo, especially since the author is a Japanese, the whole og & oldest fans are Japanese & the series literally have no Japanese representation chars. Do we really need this (discussion) or do we need prioritize a great product (story) instead?? Just saying.
Dude.. she does NOT look like Griffith. She just had white hair. Many people have white hair ok? :D That just leads nowhere. But dont get me wrong I like your video and your thoughts! Thanks.
Since void and femto have a lot of parallels together like being the fifth members in their time or getting torched to death does that mean griffith will sacrifice falconia just like how void apparently did ? Will we see void,s sacrifice in the upcoming chapters and see how the future will repeat itself with Griffith at the climax of this arc 10 years later ? That will be interesting
Could it not be that Gaiseric planned to undergo an eclipse event similar to Griffith but actually backed out of it at the end, after seeing his lover dying? (Hence his mistake and why he calls himself foolish) What would happen? Would he still retain any God hand power? What about all the others dead? Is this what gives him the supernatural power to challenge the God hand instead of side with them?
It's probably been noted before, but 1000 years before the high middle ages, which is implied the story takes place in with use of full plate armour and cannons, therefore the skull knight eclipse was at the time of the fall of Rome.
15:59 I think that saying that Berserk has minimal world building is very inaccurate, and I think instead it would be way more accurate to say that Berserk has vague world building since the series has a lot of lore and information about the world available, but we do lack bits and pieces to how things connect that I'd say make it more vague than I'd say minimal. Sorry if this comment is incomprehensible I'm really fucking tired right now
Speaking of black people in Berserk, you forgot that there was Pippin in the Band of the Hawk Edit: finished the video. Great one! I truly can't wait for more Berserk content, especially at this point in the story.
I don’t think those are god hands I think those are actual angels maybe place holders for the Idea of evil until void. When we first see the god hand they are on an actual hand but these aren’t. I don’t think that’s by accident. In my head there’s already too many parallels to guts and SK. It could be the same with fempto and void. But idk I’m getting alpha omega, beginning and end type vibes.
The. Girl in the video it could reincarnation of fairy princess cause the fairy princess looks exactly like her even when skull knight appear in elf forrest they already know him. Also on her necklaces she has fairy on it and even looks she has crown of fairy too that what i think she is
Lmao at the weird racial narrative stuff. Thankfully the Japanese don't give a shit about this type of stuff. That was honestly such a bizarre comment in an otherwise great video. If I wanted random black characters shoved into media, I would watch Netflix.
Well, fortunately, the video isn't about what you want. So what if Kyle wants to see more black people in Berserk? What I'm interested to know is why there's any pushback from you for it. Honestly, I didn't really think much of that portion of the video. I don't really care about the inclusion of black characters in the series but I'm not against it either so that just kinda went in one ear and out the other for me.
@@TenchiHawkwing the inclusion of black characters in a European style fantasy setting is itself a political statement. It's the type of shit that white people love to signal about to other white people for status points. You have to explain to me why it's a moral imperative to add racial diversity to a narrative. Did black panther need more racial diversity? Or is this only a one way street?
@@firaselachkar4159 Because when your audience gets large and popular enough, a lot of people from different backgrounds are watching and it's nice to see a couple that look like you from time to time. They dont gotta be a major character or anything, just showing that they exist. This series is in a fantastical setting right now. It has passed its european setting a long time ago. Ganniskha and the rest are proof of that. Black Panther was a film centered in wakanda. And even then, white and even asian characters were still present.
Can you imagine if skull knight and the woman we saw in the flashback are griffith's relatives? It would explain some of the things in the lost chapter. He would be royalty. It would also explain the resemblance. Maybe she is the only one that looks similar because she's related to griffith. I mean to me it makes a lot sense. Maybe that's why we don't see the lower half because she's holding a baby or something.
Better late then never? Right?
It’s 27 mins you get a pass
Great job Kyle
@mintyelbow ik right? Wtf Kyle...
I like how excited you were

Love the video man, this chapter was short but definitely one of the best in the entire manga. Miura you absolute mad lad

On the world map comment,we do have it,I think in the birth of the world tree a spread showes a map of Europe.

Agreed, no need for political correctness in a story that takes place in an age where that concept didn't even exist
Well said. Europeans can’t have anything nowadays it seems.
Great analysis!

Void didn't like skull nights tax policy.
Whats up with Edna Black Lagoon break down video? Be waiting forever bro

That could make scene when we saw the the fallen kingdom it reminded me of Roman architecture.
She got those dsl
I wonder what the fuck are the 1900s people are gonna think of all this? That would be the best history class ever

I wonder if Geiserich and Falconia were inspired by Nebechanezzar and Babylon?

I got to say it now. Literally no one cares about skin colour or representation. What should take precedence is always Story
There are many who do care, unfortunately. :(
What if Morda is Skull Knight's daughter?
