A friend of mine brought back some illuminating rockets from Vietnam. They where in an aluminum tube. It made an artificial sun hang in the sky.
These are great rockets and at night they are super bright (30,000 candela for a 40 second burn) Great fun to shoot and store for survival!

The flare went in the direction you DIDN'T want it to go, then the other dude was sayin it was gonna start a field fire, then you said it was gonna be the last one lol, oh shit. These flares are always being rotated out of life raft emergency kits every ten years to meet SOLAS regulations. Sometimes you can even find the food ration kits as well. The flares will store for years especially if they are still sealed up in the "spam cans" they are packed in. They usually come packed six to the can. Lots of fun to shoot but avoid coastal areas and dry areas. If fired around the fourth of July you might not have much trouble with the authorities however during other times red arial flares are a call for help. Be wise and don't play with them uselessly, you can ruin the fun for the rest of us.
I use these rocket motors in my model rockets.I strip the entire thing down,extract the rocket motor,the parachute and the ejection charge.I build a model rocket and use everything in there.When I'm done with a launch,I simply reload another motor and I'm ready to go again!!Check out my channel for on board launch video

yeah i let it off like a month ago but i didnt want to gold it and let it off so i layed it on some bricks and let it off with a long rope and the flare landed on the ground and started a little grass fire haha lucky i had a fire extinguisher

LoveScottland true. ikaros are way better than pains Wessex. they seem to have better color and last a little longer. they're easier to fire too.
