- Опубліковано 21 січ 2023
- It's time for a series overhaul and a big reorganisation of my (very simple) reading spreadsheet/tracker - this year I've only kept the series tracker around! Here I'm going through all of my series and sorting out the priority reads for 2023, the series I'm DNFing and which I need to keep on my radar...

P.S. I am not a spreadsheet girlie so if there’s any easier way to do literally any of this, feel free to let me know 😂
Ali from Hardback hoarder has a reading spreadsheet which includes a series tracker. Can't speak for older (free) versions of the last few years but for 2023 she charges $5. But it includes tons of Trackers 🙂. She made a video with a walk through ua-cam.com/video/OSd9uc_rGAU/v-deo.html
@@barbaraschmitt85 oh I know! Sorry should have specified I meant for anything I did in this video aha, I won’t be using any bigger spreadsheets myself but in previous years I’ve used G from BookRoast’s original CAWPILE spreadsheet 🥰
I've just made a series tracker for myself. I have done mine so each surname has it's own tab then i put the author, series the books and then a tick box for owned, read, finished and DNF. I then conditional format the Series name so that if the Finished or DNF are ticked it changes colour. It is hard to explain but i can always share it with you as a read only. (if i could include a pic i would)
4:28 Click the smaller Grey Italiac Text above the Big Bold Title to get the series up.
P.S There are 19 volumes and counting in it.
📈📉📊
I use The StoryGraph for what I've read and brief reviews.
For my primary TBR I use a simple spreadsheet so I can move books up and down my list based on moods or group reads or availability or any other factors I deem factorable.
Daily I use a reading journal for longer thoughts and musings. I find longhand works better for me than typing.
Being a Capricorn, I am forced to be organized. (Being American I misspell organize with a z.)
I use both Goodreads and Storygraph, and this year I've decided to try doing a reading journal again. Similarly to you, I have tried and failed to use a reading spreadsheet because I always stop updating it at some point and then get overwhelmed with the idea of catching up on it. I might try doing something like this for series though, especially since there are a lot I want to start soon!! Hope you're having a lovely day
Just a thought, use the paint-roller button to the right of the printer button to make your editing so much quicker. Click on an already formatted cell (wrapped and centred) then click the paint-roller and then drag over any cells to copy the same format 🙂
Ooh shall make a note, thank you!
Charlotte thanks so much for this tip! I used it today, what a time saver!!!
Wow thanks-I never knew this!
Love this! you inspired me to do a series tracking spread in my journal
I keep my own reading journal for books on my tbr, series and books Ive read. I also use cawpile as well. Love seeing different ways people track their reading 📈
series spreadsheets are so aesthetic i love it🤩😂
i looooove organising books! i've never had a series tracker but you're inspiring me want to make one 😂💜📈
I love this! I’ve watched a few series tracker spreadsheet videos and I definitely think this would help me keep track-I’m always forgetting about series I’m in the middle of even when I truly want to continue them. This year I want to stop waiting too long that I have to reread the previous books. I’m a sucker for a good spreadsheet 📊
Love these types of videos! 📊
gosh i love a spreadsheet 😍
Library of the Unwritten is SO GOOD!!! It's beautifully written, especially book 2 - I've devoured the series
I actually found you through a bullet journal video 😊📈
I use Goodreads, just started using storygraph this year and a reading journal! 😂
📈 I have a reading bullet journal to keep track
keeping up with tracking series is always a challenge - trying to be better this year!
📊
📈
I’m torn because my current series tracker sheet looks a little bit like this. But I’m torn between this format and the checkbox format. Maybe I make both? Idk.
The checkboxes make it so you can condense all the cells down; but I also know that it would be helpful for me to have the names of each of the books.
for manga, i would suggest using myanimelist instead of goodreads or a spreadsheet!
Searching a manga series on wiki is pretty good to find how many volumes are out! (And to find out if completed or ongoing)
When I was editing this I kept thinking “I don’t know why I did t just google it” 😂
📊📊
A tiny tip: Click the thing "cell?" above number 1 to select the full table Or (cmd+A) and choose your alignment and wrap text choices, this way everything you type will be like you want without having to do it manually every single time.
+ the paintbrush thing someone else talked about ✨
And now I'm going to go and make a new spreadsheet for my series, I like the idea of having the name of the book rather than numbers.
This is very handy, thank you!
I use Goodreads & spreadsheet! My series spreadsheet is a mess right now, so will be using this as an inspo for an update 👀📈
Do you remember where you got your earrings from? I love them 🌟 xx
I use godreads, booktube, bookstagram partially and I have way too many spreadsheets for a variety of book tracking reasons, 😅😅😅😅
This is definitely making me want to do a series spreadsheet.
It’s really handy to have!
@@AFrolicThroughFiction and I made one!! I'm doing better than I thought, I only have 20 series in progress! I was really worried. 🤣
I found your channel through your bullet journal videos 🖤
Omg you’ve been here so long 🥹🖤
@@AFrolicThroughFiction Yup 😊 Just haven't always been great at commenting 😂
See I have over 449 books on my tbr. I only own maybe like half on kindle and physical copies 😂. This would take me ages
I currently have 382 on my TBR so not far off! It did take ages ahaha - I've kept my Goodreads organised since 2013 though so it wasn't too bad
I would not say the Wicked & the Divine series is worth it. The first 3 books are great and then it gets… all over the place 📈
I may have missed them but you could also add in Emily Wilde (as that will be a series) and HMRC ☺️ remember to colour in AKOFAF too! (I remember you’re completed reading better than my own at this rate😂)
Gooood points ahaha, don’t know how I missed them considering they’re anticipated sequels 😂
I filmed this before reading KOFAF so it’ll be coloured in now!
To save you having to move rows up and down. Would it be easier to have a column on the left with the sections (completed, pending etc, put a number in front so it puts them in your preferred order) that way you can sort the sheet and also filter. (Drop down option might be easier so no risk of typo) hope that makes sense. X
If I am being honest I just can't be bothered to do such a great deal of work with tracking series as you do,so very proud of you for being organised📈

📈📊B Colour coding is a great idea thanks Hope you enjoy the Juliette Cross Books
Love a colour code system!
Last Argument of Kings is book 3 in the first law trilogy. Best Served Cold is the first of the standalones. But the whole thing is just called First Law World if you just want to put the ten books all together.
Maaaaan I even own those books so don’t know how I got the titles wrong 😂 I thought first law was the the universe but split into smaller series within! If it’s done that way I’ll probably keep the trilogies and stand-alone a separate, though we’ll see when I come to actually reading them
📈📉📊
The first Gemma Doyle book is very slow and might make you want to DNF, but it gets better, I promise. 🤣
See I want to track my series… and yet… I am too lazy to make a spreadsheet 😂
🖊️ 📄 haha. I’m too old for spreadsheets.
I use Goodreads. I am trying to use Gs Cawpile system for the first time. So far I am liking it. 📈📉📊
