I am VERY happy with how this turned out, It's truly my best work yet. Hopefully it can earn a spot up there with your favorite Mario Kart themes.
"Sugarstar Speedway" is an entirely original theme I wrote for a hypothetical Mario Kart 9, based around the "Sugarstar" enemy from Super Mario Bros. Wonder. I see this course having a similar vibe to previous MK8 courses like Electrodrome, MK8 Rainbow Road & Neo Bowser City. Futuristic & spacey.
I can also see parts of the track being lined with Sugarstars and having them move like they do in SMBW, it'd look so cool to drive by as they're doing their sort of wave motion as they move in an elliptical.

コンペイレースウェイはバーチャルマリオカート9のために書き下ろした完全オリジナルのテーマで、スーパーマリオブラザーズに登場する謎の敵 "コンペイトウ"をモチーフにしている。このコースは、エレクトロドリーム、MK8レインボーロード、ネオクッパシティなど、これまでのMK8のコースに似た雰囲気を持っている。未来的で宇宙的だ。
また、コースの端にはコンペイの列があり、SMBWのコンペイと同じ楕円のパターンがある。

Whatever it is the melody first does at like 0:22 sounds incredible, I can't explain why that in particular sticks with me

I'm glad to hear that! It was actually something that came naturally when I had written the first part of the melody, I was playing it on loop and as I kept writing it just felt like the natural way to conclude the melody.

No, es demasiado enérgico para ser música de menú. Revisé un montón de temas de cursos que tienen un estilo similar y esto encaja con ellos.

Yeah I think for this theme, more specifically the lead melodies, I had taken a lot of influence from Kenta Nagata's work throughout the Mario Kart series. Fun fact that you might be able to hear once you know, is that this theme actually started out sounding more like something from MK64.
