Painting 11 Records in 3 Days - Vintage Vinyl Thrift Store Haul

*Disclaimer - Every effort was made to select records with heavy scratching/damage or singles. No intention of "ruining" vintage vinyl. Matte medium was used to hide/seal scratches to present a nicer art piece.

When I set out to paint records, I had no idea that #vinyl record collecting had made such a resurgence. That definitely made it a bit of a challenge to find reasonably priced #records of widely recognizable artists in places like thrift stores and antique shops.
I decided not to include record stores in this round because I wanted my selection to be a bit more random and hopefully priced to move, but… doing so also meant having to visit a lot of #thrift stores and striking out a bunch.
This was especially hard since I wanted the #art to cover a variety of genres. My #portraitpainting wishlist included things like 90’s Hip Hop, Classic Rock, Old Hollywood, Reggae, and Soul.
In the end, #painting portraits on so many #vinylrecords in just three days turned out to be a bit overextending, but I’m pretty proud of how they turned out.
Still deciding on my favorite...

These are great i paint on some vinyl records i scored heading into the recycle dumpster not even sure they could have been recycled plus it was a free way for me to paint on a new medium btw that jim morrison one is dope!!!! Actually they all are

Amazing work - thank you for sharing. Just getting to try my hand at painting vinyl. So, you did not prep vinyl with gesso or others? When you used white spray paint - what type did you use? And do you seal/spray varnish your work when done? If I missed it - do you use acrylics? Thank you - sorry for the questions!
