I'm watching because I left a collection of 80's vinyl in an unheated ventilated garage. Huge condensation issues in there during winter weather swings. I haven't checked them fo damage yet.....
If the sleeve is that bad, then the LP is most likely as bad, if not worse. I’d rather hunt down a clean copy. Thanks for taking the time to do this though.
This is not the way here in Brazil. The market of new records of this type was inflated, and this records are overpriced: the new and old pressing has obscene prices.
Hello @Luiz.acciari, welcome to Bredy Restorations! Thank you for your comment. The prices here in Brazil are really stratospheric, I have some albums that I paid very high prices for.
I've had varying levels of success.. A combination of Eraser, and/or ipa Rubbing alcohol and/or Tergitol can lift the inks. Just be very careful and try a small spot first.
3:21 jump scare! 14:24 yes, they are [Sharon is] one of the harshest YT copyright enforcers. Great work. Have subbed and will check out more of your vids. Maybe on a future resto, try using an X-acto knife and straightedge rather than scissors, it gives you a cleaner edge but you have to have a good cutting board underneath and a sturdy cork-bottomed straightedge.
Interesting video. I did expect slightly more though. Have you considered using a tee-shirt transfer press machine to eliminate wrinkles? For Comic books they press with heat for 15 mins then leave it in the machine over night.
Thank you for your comment and welcome to Bredy Restorations. I tried to do a simpler restoration because it was pretty destroyed. Thank you for the tip.
don't see why repainting old poor cover is better than to print new one on colored printer. The authencity has been already destroyed when you ve glued it on piece of paper and then added paints.
Sometimes if you are lucky, you can get a proper 12' x 12' print-out....most of the times, it does not happen if very few images are there on the net, and oftentimes, the print-outs are not sharp enough when you increase them to the required size. But getting a new print-out is a better option always, I agree.
Opa amigo, seja bem vindo ao Bredy Restorations. Comprei como papel cartão, consegui aqui em uma papelaria próxima, lembra muito o papel usado na construção da capa original.
Nice work, but seriously, you could have made a screen print of the cover and just pulled a new print for all the work you did. Not knocking you, just saying, a new print would be perfect and probably less work. Thanks, for sharing. All of your techniques can be applied but maybe not on such an extreme restore.
Welcome to Bredy Restorations. Thank you for your comment, this restoration was really quite simple. Thank you for your tips, in the next restoration I intend to apply a new print. 😊👍🏻
I would have done something different: I would have scanned the cover; removed wounds and stains with photoshop; printed the image, complete with flaps and with exact size, on thick paper; covered with semi-opaque transparent film; reconstructed a new cover. I would have kept the old original with the new one in the same plastic folder. I did it on a rare Chet Baker release with a very bad cover.
@ferrochinabisleri1587528-6 welcome to Bredy Restorations. I liked your tip, the work you did must have been very good. Thank you very much for commenting. 😎 👍
@@EdHindel Of course, in fact I did save the useless and unpresentable one. Keeping the original as it is is better than altering it and trying to restore its appearance.

I just rescued an album from a friend’s barn. The vinyl plays great and is in great condition, however the cover is destroyed. So not always true.
Very cool
A lot of bong smoke residue being removed during that cleaning process!
Nice work Bredy Resto’s . Is there anyway of removing or partially removing the names in ink ? Cheers … Craig

I have tried various ways ,never been successful ,ball point pen and felt tip sinks deep into the card
I often restore record covers myself ,you did a great job but that one was really too far gone ,l would only start with something a bit better ....
Looks like they used a Black Sabbath record as a pillow..
Obrigado por seu comentário, e seja bem vindo ao Bredy Restorations. Realmente estava muito danificado. 😁
got this one aswell, great restoration
Thank you for your comment and welcome to Bredy Restorations. It's an excellent album, it's among the 27 best heavy metal albums in the world.
I have an OG pressing - one of my favorites!!!!

Never seen a single cover for Vol 4 ….had a gatefold + booklet…is this a US version?

@@Bredyrestorations hey there, if you are looking to remove wrinkles, do you use a hot iron with a towel wrapped? Haven’t tried this myself
Thanks for your comment. I'm going to do a test on a next restoration...thanks a lot for the tip.
It might look good to you but it’s still a $3.00 record in that condition.
The editing doesn't feel completely right, but the actual stuff you're doing is really cool. I liked this video, I'll probably watch more from you.
Thank you so much for your comment @The real Ozzy Osbourne, welcome to Bredy Restorations.
good job
Thank you so much for commenting and welcome to Brady Restorations. 😎🤘
next time please use an inner sleeve for the vinyl itself, to protect it.. but it is warped, so no need for that..
There are many tools out there to fix warped records now. So yes, please use an inner sleeve!

Cleaning, repairs, replacing, and touching up is not 'restoring.' I get it though. Some folks like the modern fixed up look.
Interesting. Is that lp super rare?
No lol it’s Black Sabbath, there’s millions of them out there
Congrats. You've just devalued your album.
Actually no, if you are having it for your own collection, it is a better idea, I think.
What kind of paint did you use? Acrylic?
Thanks for commenting and welcome to Bredy Restorations. 🙂✌ - I used acrylic paint for paper
