Oh man! Watching you guys trying Mauritius blended cuisines is a visual treat for my eyes and heart. Definitely, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese cuisines are a well-balanced diet that consists of protein, fibres, and carbohydrates. Mauritius, Malaysia, and Singapore have real melting pot cuisines and culture. If different customs, cultures, and religions could co-exist, why do we still chase wars instead of harmony, I wonder.
I just discovered you and have been binging for days. I love everything about your show but your joy and enthusiasm for great food and your delight in 5he eatin* is infectious. I have cooked a variety of cuisines myself for decades but I have gotten some great ideas from 5he show and particularly how some of the simple rural home chefs do things. Wonderful!

@canadianeskimogirl oh I'm going, Lord willing. I was going to hike the Appalachian Trail in 2025, but I almost died on June 20th. I'm recovering too slowly to get my training going. So, I'm swapping my 2026 trips to 2025 and hiking in 2026. I see you're from or in Canada... my first girlfriend was an Alaskan Eskimo girl when I was 12. I took photos of a snow-covered Alaska in April 2007 as I flying to China... I've traveled all over Canada and have watched hundreds of movies and UA-cam videos about Alaska, more where i wish to travel. It's my dream to visit for a whole summer, hunting, fishing, and camping. I have an Alaskan Indian friend from central-western Alaska. He's in his late 70's now. He came to visit me in 2007 for a month. One day I want to visit him before he passes. Maybe it's a trip for 2027? I am actually planning a fross-canada rail trip from west to east. As far as the crawls can take me, with side trips.

I had to jump over here when I saw "Mauritius" I just heard of it a few days ago, thinking I want to go there. Talk about being in the middle of nowhere. Loved the Video Mark!!!! I hate to correct you Mark. To be Rum it has to be made with sugarcane. I was surprised to learn Mauritius leans toward India food being off the coast of Africa.
Mauritius is beautiful, it's a honeymoon destination with the best beaches! ❤ The rum is strong too, it hits like whiskey. Chamarel rum is a good one if you plan on visiting. They have a plantation there and the tourists love it!
It is so amazing to see how some foods have travelled beyond geographical boundaries across oceans and seas and became a part of different cultures.. i did not expect that such a simple and common Indian food like Dal-Puri, is so fondly cherished in another country in a different continent. Thank you Mark for showing us how food unites different cultures. But the Rasgulla/Roshogolla actually seems like Gulab Jamun because Rasgullas are always white. Love from India 🇮🇳
