What amazes me about Chante Moore is that she doesn't have the notoriety that she deserves. If you asked 10 people who Chante Moore was I would be surprised if more than 2 might know her name. In short, she is an amazing talent.
They were two very different artists. Chante kept her clothes on and stayed on the jazz tip. There's something to be said for still being able to leave your house and do everyday normal things without the world swarming all over you. Chante still has a healthy career and more money than most people. She doing alright. It's alright.
I totally agree with you with the fact that a lot of people won't know her. But let's face it, every artist has their genre, very few cross over out of their natural zone. I don't expect others to know her because their interests won't lead them deep enough into R&B, let alone R&B when she was at the top of her hay-day. Maybe she just didn't have that Whitney Houston or Michael Jackson marketing, but then again, they crossed over and back and over, again and again. But I'm pretty sure the "real" R&B fans of the 90's and 2000's remember her. And yes she is an amazing talent..........not just another pretty face.

This song came out in 1992, and 20 years later her voice is still as miraculous as ever. Most people probably like the pomp and circumstance of Madonna's performance. But seeing Chante perform is a miraculous experience of god's gift to us mere mortals.

Someone below mentioned his surprised that Chante doesn't have more notariety considering her talent. I believe it is a symptom of the loss of 'black radio' across the country. So many great black stations have gone by the wayside. That and now there are so many other technological distractions. It's a shame... I love her older and newer music... 💕💞🌹
