The irony in all this is Haaland is a jovial relatively unselfish teammate for his position, even in games where he’s frozen out of play, he will do the dirty work, he doesn’t mope around he’s happy to see other people score, in his record season last year he gave up multiple pens to teammates where he could have padded his stats

Roy Keane was right. Man said Haaland is a really good goal scorer, but his general build up play is bad... And it is true. But his goal scoring makes up for it. He also disappears in a lot of big games

Haaland is one of if not the single worst footballer in Premier League history, BUT he is a good finisher. It’s remarkable. He’s a world class finisher but his passing, dribbling, control, awareness, positional play, strength, agility, defending etc is all utterly woeful. Check the stats he’s statistically the worst player in Prem history when you take away his goals. Great goal scorer though.
Keane is one of my favourite pundits. But on Halaand he has shown to have a particular bias ... i've lost count of the number of times that he defended player's reactions after substitution (CR7 comes to mind) but somehow he changes stance for this one player ......

If you watch the game, Haaland was actually angry at the ref for a decision that he didn’t pick up on just before he was subbed off. Wasn’t annoyed by being taken off 🙄

Haaland holds up the ball, drops deep more than you know, can build up speed as shown by city’s counterattacking goals, has defended when needed in massive moments in the game when city just hold onto the ball keeping it near corner flags. He has a relationship with all the players around them so that pep can get the best out of those players. The chemistry between their passages of play and the resulting prolific manner in which he scores for fun by being clever also with his positioning is world class.
I’m saying it’s just stupid to point out the weaknesses someones game like haaland, when every single club in the world would take him bc there’s more to him than goals.
What he brings to the team and his teammates is unmeasurable.

I have been watching Champions League the last few weeks and it is noticeable the standard of officiating is much better and VAR basically never comes up as an issue. Why is that? Watching CL shows me VAR can work well. Decisions are made quickly. There is no need for a judicial enquiry for every possible incident. VAR doesn't seem to be constantly seeking to ref the game...I know this is not related to the topic here but I am hoping talkSPORT can do something to sort this out. I just feel the people in charge don't get it.

Keane in my opinion is an honest man, tes he does do mistakes sometimes but I don't think an exageration is in that category, I admire every aspect of his punditry, even the parts where he bias to his ex teammates, while not being super objective, I still admire his loyalty, and he does try to criticise objectivly anyways, but it becomes hard for him with ex teammates with whom he've been in the trenches
Because he is a pundit, who comments on Haaland, one of the prolific goal scorers at the age of 23. A pundit should not be biased on jealousy, anger or hatred. He has to apologize for that and change his attitude.

I'm tired of hearing these comments even from pundits now that Roy was way off with his comments on Erling but the guy said he is a top finisher and he will get u lots of goals which is obviously fantastic but Erlings overall game needs alot of improvement.... yes like I said goals are great but what if you are struggling to get the goals ..... then what ? Do you just walk around a bit and just except you can't get the goals today or do you do other things on the pitch like pass the ball around , or tackle more , help get back possession, help your team mates get a goal .... when Erling can't get the goals nothing else basically happens. You have basically lost a player at that point so your more or less down a man when this happens. There is a reason why people call him the ghost on big games .... which is because he struggles to score against some big teams and then he does nothing the whole games. All Roy is saying is Erling needs to do more on the pitch especially when he's not getting the goals. It's absolutely spot on from Roy.
