#longest driver
Love the average golfer review. Born in 71 I relate to your channel. I must congratulate you on this one. Thumbs up on the awesome drives. 👌🏼
I've tried all three. Went with the Ping. The Epic did go a bit further for me, but was also a little too squirrley. When I missed, I missed BAD. So I opted for more consistency and sacrificed about 4-5 yards more distance. (On average)
No regrets.
For sure fairways are key!
The way I would/will go.
I compared all 3 and had the exact same experience. Went with the G425 Max because of accuracy and forgiveness. Sacrificed 4-5 yards compared to the other two, but 265-270 total yards with the Ping is good enough for me.
Interesting content both engaging and fun to watch. Little to chose between any of those 3 drivers but Ping G425 seems the best if not longest based on a combo of distance, accuracy and consistency. Keep the great content coming.
I was dead set on getting the SIM2 when I went shopping this spring, tested all three of these and I ended up going with the G425, i'm about 9 rounds in and I can't be any happier with my game off the tee this year. If you are going to test them out, make sure you ty the PING, so forgiving and straight.
I tested G425 and SIM2 recently. SIM2 was longer (just), G425 was straighter and has gone in my bag.
Loved it. Great to see these comparisons done by an "Average" golfer. It does really bring it into perspective. All the top manufacturers have maxed out the performance within in the club regulations. It comes down to esthetic preference and price. And it again also tells me that buying last years model for half the price is not going to make a difference if you are not a pro. Also have to say that the addition of Trackman is making the content very interesting, enjoyable and exciting in this case.
G425 for me. 2 yards shorter but so consistent! Can't wait to try it next week.
Seemed very straight
Andy, love the format. This was fun to watch you compete with yourself. So bottom line there really isn't a lot of difference between these except where it comes to accuracy. Didn't know you such a bomber off the tee.
Great video. I think the ping was more consistent. I got the ping 425 max this year and I think it is very forgiving, consistent and longer than other drivers I tried.
That was a lot of fun. I only wish I had the equipment to try that long drive game, although the run out is just a tad unrealistic. If you are carrying 250 yards then in real life I think total yards would be closer to 270 yards than 290 yards unless you are playing on rock hard fairways with the wind behind you
That's the deal with these new drivers, they're made to have low spin which translates into much more roll out, I agree that 40 yards is probably more than you'd get on the course
Need more like this. I was excited for you watching the ball roll. 😁
Great test !! You hit bombs today !! Love to see these test with hybrids 3 and 4`s. And the same with different fairway woods and utility irons.
Also bring in different brands !! Well done !!
Good idea
Well I've gone and done it. I've got to thank you for being the first to introduce me to the Ping G425 7 wood, now in my bag. Along with the G425 Driver. Many thanks to Oliver at Express golf Bradford.
Thoroughly enjoyable! Just goes to show you that the major manufactures have all taking the drive to the max limits allowed.
I think you are spot on Robert
i tried all 3 and ended up going with the PING...for me it was the longest and straightest .....then also went with the 5 wood / 7 wood / 26 and 34 degree hybrids ...stoked to play them....already have 7 rounds of golf in the books now to see what these new clubs do....cheers from Canada
Good choices!
Good stuff again, I’ve even stopped watching the Masters to view this! 👍🏻
Haha appreciated!
Great vid I go for my fitting tomorrow, will be testing all 3 along with the Cobra and Mizuno, can't wait. There's nothing in them distance wise, for me dispersion is key.
Loved the video! I believe the results. They match my results by rank too. The Sim always seems to be the longest of them all and Ping drivers are always the most accurate.
Excellent video. Sticking with my Ping G410. Straight, mid-launch and spin and runs out for mr.
perfect!
8 months old (but only just watched it). I really enjoyed it 👍🏻
Thoroughly enjoyed this v-log, I thought the Ping would win. No bad clubs here! Trackman, definitely taking channel to another level 😊
Really enjoyed video Andy.....you were smashing it ,,well done
Never mind the drivers, if hes hitting it over 290yds wi that swing and swing speed I want one of the simulators. 350 here I come. 🤣
Totally agree, 235 carry all day. Ground set to concrete
😂😂😂😂
3 great clubs, Andy. You showed some very good endurance. I think if you changed the order of hitting the clubs, you might see a different result.
I switched to Ping from epic flash just because the forgiveness and accuracy was wickedly amazing. I can only drive 270 at most so the distance was not a feature that helped me make my decision. It's the forgiveness G425max delivers that makes me turn down all other options. Of course, get fitted first before you buy anything. For me Ping did an amazing job with their G425 series this year.
Very interesting. I’m going for a driver fitting on Monday so will try those.
Good video Andy. Would be nice to see results based on carry. I've never seen my ball roll out 40+ yards :-)
The carry distances are there to see
@@TheAverageGolfer Have a look, because they are only there occasionally but mostly ignored or not shown.
@@TheAverageGolfer cheers Andy, I know they are in there but hard piece together a carry based leader board. I know this was just a bit of fun and it was fun to watch you smash them. I love your channel as you have a similar swing speed to me 100mph I'm always keen to see your take. I dont think I've ever gotten anywhere near 280+ 250ish is about my average total. So having the final leader board based on carry and roll just left me wondering. Hope you dont 'feel' you have to compete with the rest of the yotubers search for speed and distance.
Andy's trackman is set to UA-cam mode where wind blows hard from behind and thr ground rock solid.
Andy, did you get your best distance with the last shot of each club ? I think you responded to the pressure so maybe you need to do a 1 shot challenge, you can cope with the pressure ! Looks like you're enjoying you new location and working with you daughter too. I see she got a speaking part in this one !! I like this vid so maybe one of these every so often would be good. It just shows how similar all these new improved longer faster more forgiving drivers are !
I think you have htis spot on, one of these every 2/3 weeks might break things up a bit
That was a lot of fun Andy. I wanted Callaway to win, as that's what I'm currently playing, but the Sim winning wasn't really a surprise. They do make a great, long driver.
Nothing in them really
Great video Andy, very entertaining a good challenge.
Rad Speed getting a lot of press, would have loved to have seen that one too, great video Andy! Would the self proclaimed average golfer agree the best average drive winner was the Ping, all hit the fairway and went far? Can you tell us the shafts used and flex? G425 max? (longer than my 400 max?)
I know old video but I always buy a previous year driver for price. Love thi
Nice challenge. I've tried them all! But i will still game my PING. Love the dispersion. Yours and mine. 👍🏌⛳😀
Andy, another great video. Can you tell me what the difference was in club head speed between these drivers vs pxg. I'm wondering why the pxg drivers were 30 yards shorter. Thanks
it was a great video. Just wish to see the club head speed and spin.
Absolutely cracking video Andy 👍👍
Suggestion - for accuracy-test could you please throw some plates up in the air? This would be the best method for target practice and club accuracy.
This is a great video all round fun to watch you enjoying yourself, great use of trackman and software I think the ping should have won as they all stayed in the grid and only a yard off
Great video, Andy! You could put any of those in your bag and score well. Thanks for the content.
Thanks for watching!
Great video. Very entertaining. I was thinking the Callaway Epic speed would be the winner but any drive in the 280 to 290 range is good with me. You were killing it Andy. Maybe the Callaway or Taylormade should be in your bag.
Trouble is I swing 20% slower on course!
Great video...300 yards in sight!! #hitthegym 💪
Thanks, Andy that was fun👍
Though it's even funnier that Justin Rose is leading at the Masters with a TM M1 Driver in his Bag, I'm not sure that TM will be too happy though🤦♂️
We need to test it
@@TheAverageGolfer The M2 & M1 seem to have a cult following, so they should still be pretty competitive compared to the SIM & SIM2
Great video again, Andy can I ask what ball you're using for testing?
Fantastic different type of video! 👏🏻
No more average golfer Andy !!💪😄 your thoughts on the new Mizuno driver versus the ping ? Good stuff Andy.
Great to see the how close they are but iv tried the callaway and it came out on top great fun thou
Only a bit of fun as you say
Definitely super fun to watch. I’m looking at an average golfer hitting nearly 293 yards with a TM SIM2 driver and I’m thinking “I barely hit 267 with my current driver. I must be below average....”
I surprised myself Tim!! I will say I have never hit that far on a fairway when it matters
Great video, the ping looked amazing
Which club do you prefer Andy... Nothing between them but that ping g425 seemed to be most consistent
Catching up on this while I look at drivers this year. Question: did you use the stock shafts or were they on your fitted shaft? IMO shaft can make a ton of difference
Really like the TaylorMade Sim 2 driver. Very long and forgiving.
Love it mate👍 a video like this once or twice a month would be great
Yes now and then and keep a leaderboard!
@@TheAverageGolfer great idea. Gave me the giggles with your 'thats the winner' statement and then the realisation it wasn't!!! I stopped watching the masters aswell! Glad I did, brilliant mate
Quality this. Time for a lay down!!!
I’m just a new subscriber to the channel, great video. You can hit it as far as the pros! 👍🏻
Thanks for the sub! They carry the ball 50 yds further!
Andy great stuff. Ping as consistency is king as in proof of you letting rip ! & not a normal easy swing
Off the top of your head how does it compare to your B21 ?
I think we should put the B21 in the test
I love this. Why not create a ‘Top Gear style’ leaderboard on your wall. Play two drivers off against each other and add their best distance to the leaderboard. Yesteryears clubs could also make guest appearances!!
You have our card marked Andrew, thats the plan!
Hi, which of the 3 would you recommend for a 18 handicap?
Andy great video enjoyed it very much
Cheers Jeff
Excuse me young man but What shafts are you using in the said drivers, if you did mention it - i missed it. As i can make out todays shaft fitting is critical to selecting a driver. Think roast Pork and apple sauce!
Really nice Andy! Fun format
Cheers Steve
Great vid Andy you definitely had your Weetabix 👍🏻
Yes I was impressed!
good video looking forward to 5 wood distance comp
Yes maybe
Great video bud thats good enough for me sim2 it is
I like that, that's a better way to measure the distance. Nice one 👍
Thanks 👍
Love this. Nice swings. All the same shafts?
All Hzdus smoke
To all those chasing extra distance, save your money you'd waste on a gym membership, and start a 10min twice a day GOLF SPECIFIC stretching program... If sheer strength was the answer, Eddie Hall would be amongst the crew on the WLDC Tour. Instead, a wirey little bloke named Jamie Sadlowski has won it twice... Flexibility is the key to strength, power and speed... The golf swing is a dynamic movement that requires adequate flexibility to get the most out of your body.
Bit of Sway from Left to Right. Right Hand is a little open at Address & Feet too far apart ???
Out of interest, on the golf course would you say you hit your driver to the same sort of carry as you do on the simulator? I’m interested as I have a very similar club head speed as yourself, around 100mph, but I’m no where near 250yard carry
Andy, how does your B21 compare to those three drivers?
Love the review 👍
Not sure how this guy calls himself “ The Average Golfer“ . Average golfers don’t hit the ball 290 yards ..
Ball was landing much shorter then bouncing and rolling 25-30 yards. I'm guessing the range was setup hard and fast. I don't ever see bouncing like that on any course I play.
Best music on golf UA-cam
Can’t see how you see yourself as ‘The Average Golfer’, with distances like this.
which ball and shaft flex did you use on them?
Great video but I don’t think your swing is consistent enough and stays “warm” enough throughout the entire “test”. In all honesty, any of those shots and clubs are great. It all depends on the player to get out, practice and play. I’ve tried all 3 of those and others and went back to my Taylormade r9. No reason to pay all that extra for not much more
this shows what most of us knew, there is nothing to choose between drivers except the level of hype from manufacturers
Ping wins it for me - more consistent across all shots. SIM had that sky in and the Callaway started with 2 duck hooks that dropped distance.
I'm a Ping woods guy myself but after getting fitted the SIM 2 blew my current Ping and the 425 out of the water. It also had a much better feel and sound to it. Was pretty shocked to say the least.
"Long balls Sulli"😂 😂 😂
No average guy hits it 290 yards plus!!! The average male hits 220. You are a lot above the average golfer. Please change your title!! but loved the video. Thanks!!!
Fun video. Thanks!
Love this content.
Cheers Lindsay
The Ping 425 you tested, was it the “Max” model?
Judging by the fact he said it's got a 16g weight, I think it's the LST model... The Max has a 26g weight...
brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.
Cheers Mike
Where do you think your B21 with shorter shaft comes against these then Andy - tried it?
Not tried but it will feature
Sorry Andy, an Average Golger doesn't hit his driver 290 yards. Great vid mate. Keep up the good work.
245 carry was the carry and more realistic, best I have to be fair
Andy - do you normally see 280-290 on the course ?
No bud, I think it must be downhill & downwind 😂I would just look at the carry distances for comparisons
Which club had the best average? Which club had the best accuracy?
The rules were straightforward Tommy, longest drive?
@@TheAverageGolfer ok. My preference would be the most consistent in yardage and accuracy. I want to know how far it's going more than anything else. Then accuracy. But I understand what you wanted.
tommy Sweeney yea agreed if this was an overall review then perhaps Ping would be the winner
That was fun! Awesome!
Glad you enjoyed
This is something I struggle with...my distance off the tee. Probably average 220yrds at best. What I don't get is, looking at your swing, fairly limited shoulder turn on the back swing and your swing does not look fast.....BUT your hitting balls 300yrds....????
Love it. Big hitting 👌
Best i have!
Some days you want to know if a golf club is good, and sometimes you just want to see someone knock the pants out of one. It's good to get a break from the norm.
Yes agreed a bit of light hearted smashing drivers!
Why not compare the Max versions or the non-max versions against each other? That would be a more similar comparison.
Its not a comparison Robert, it was purely a distance competition, all drivers will feature in the weeks ahead
Interesting video
Ping seemed better for keeping in the fairway and consistent distance only a couple yards shorter
Did seem staright
Arrow straight or baby draw - Who are you and what have you done with our Andy??
or duck hook.....
Why use max ping and not max SIM
Not much difference in the three clubs for distance pick the one that appeals to you.
Club head speed 101 and the distance 290 yards that doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.
Got my Ping 7 wood today. Took the cover off, couldn't wait, only to find that they'd sent me a right hand model. Ho hum.
oh no!!!
The winner should take on the mizuno MP-001
well seems a guy won at saint Andrew without any of those. how weird
