  • We leave Taipei and visit London for two days before we head to Poland.
We get to see Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and The Tower Of London. We also make a massive $700 mistake.
We absolutely loved the City of London, and even though it almost bankrupted us, we highly recommend everyone to see this beautiful city.

Yikes, sorry you had so many unexpected expenses. Thanks for sharing, so others can know what to look out for when planning their travels to/from and within London. Have fun in Poland :)

Wow! Seems like the budget for 2 days in London is more than the budget for 1 month in Thailand 😂😂😂. Have a great time in Europe😊😊😊!!!

Oh man, I have never been to Europe so I had no idea it could be so expensive. I really like how concise and fun your videos are. Looking forward to watching the next vlog! ❤

Not all of Europe is as crazy as London. That said, we are in Italy right now and Rome is just as expensive ☹️

@@ourcalltoadventure as a Londoner who doesn't live in London, it can be expensive especially in the more touristy areas but it's no different to a lot of major cities in Europe and the world but Rome, Paris, Berlin, Madrid and the likes can all be expensive.
The biggest gripe I have with London is the cost of the tube. It's ridiculously expensive and is not as good as it once was.
However, you said you were heading to Poland, great country, some interesting cities and you will save yourself a fortune there compared to the likes of Rome and London.
I take it you flew from Stansted? The train prices there can be a rip off too, especially if you don't book in advance and Ryanair will try and sting you big time if you aren't prepared.
Loving the videos by the way.

@@motr1912 this is great info! Thank you. We have never travelled to Europe before so we are really just trying to feel our way through as we go. It’s difficult to pack in experiences and research at the same time especially while home schooling three kids so all the info we get we love and use. I think the biggest difference between Asia and Europe so far is that if you make a mistake that costs you money in Asia it’s pretty benign compared to all the big cities of Europe as you described above. A Europe mistake costs a fortune in comparison. No different than Canada though - the pain just burns extra coming directly from Asia haha. We will figure it out I’m sure- hopefully sooner rather than later. I will say travelling with kids just makes everything a bit more challenging while trying problem solve here.

@@ourcalltoadventure I have to say, I do admire you both for the way you are on an adventure of a lifetime with your children and the homeschooling.
I can't work out if you are brave or just like a massive challenge 😂
Either way, they seem very happy and content and will never forget the memories they will cherish and I'm sure you will both look back on it all with fondness too.
Best of luck with what comes next 👍

Thank you that really means a lot. We love the videos for this reason too - they can relive their memories any time they want ( and they do all the time). We always say they may not remember it but it will shape who they eventually become. Thanks again for your comments and kind words.

If you ever come back to London, NEVER take an Uber to an airport, they’re all between 40 mins to 1.5 hours from the city centre and it’s almost always cheaper to take a traditional back cab or to take the express train

Thanks for the tip John, we will know for next time. Unfortunately we didn’t catch the airport mixup until the very last minute and didn’t have another choice. Just one of the many lessons learned on this journey. Thanks for watching.

Well you got shafted there but tbh that was on you not doing your research. Who travels and doesn’t look into how to get to and from the airport from their hotel? Which airport was it? If you’d done your research, you’ll have been able to get a coach or train at a fraction of the price of an Uber. Same for check in. It will have been in the information they sent you that you need to check in in advance, but you chose not to read stuff 🤷🏻‍♀️

We have been travelling for 8 months and been on almost 30 flights. We have never had to check in online or be charged, it’s obviously a money grab by pathetic airlines like Ryanair - lesson learned. As for the airport mix up, we arrived in Heathrow and thought that’s where we would fly out of - oops 😬 We are well aware that this is all our fault (don’t remember blaming anyone else) but we always appreciate people pointing it out in the comments. 🥰

I agree. For such seasoned travelers they make the same rookie mistakes over and over again - running late for flights, booking hotels that take an hour to get to, not knowing the most cost effective transport, waiting to pack at the last minute, etc etc

It doesn't belong the the Royals..it's for all the Monarchs, they do have their own jewellry but NOT the Crown jewels!

Thanks for showing the dark sides of London. Being expensive is understandable but that outrageous fine from people's mistake is unacceptable in terms of Thai culture. No matter how rich I am, I won't live with such an unreasonable rule.

    • @ourcalltoadventure
      @ourcalltoadventure  Рік тому +4

It is so wrong. Just corporate robbery. We were furious but helpless as we dished over all that cash. We really missed Thailand even more then.
