i swear to god this guy gets more jacked the more ram our phones get.
Yeah, but... I mean... my phone's almost 5 years old and has 12GB. RAM has really not been increasing
@@cheweh842It has been increasing for cheaper phones.
The phones are getting bigger and heavier, Bro. He has to be able to lift them.
this is super underrated. Do you have any idea how hard i laughed
The first thing I noticed was his huge guns and not the phone he was holding. 😅
Galaxy A55 is the a jack of all trades, master of none. Overall a great midrange phone without much compromises, suitable for most people.
lol it's e-waste jack of no trades master of non
@3mar00ss6 meh, been using it for 3 days coming from the A51, to say it's e waste would be ridiculous
S23fe better deal than this
good all rounder sure..but it's $700 Australian dollars...not exactly budget friendly.
no more mid range price is almost flagship killer but device has entry level spec
Now we can say :
This is a real upgrade from the legendary A52s 5G.
Thats what I thought too! Im looking to upgrade my nearly 3 year old A52S! And the performance of the A55 seems to be huge jump. Also that design looks premium af!
no it's not lol
GALAXY A52s is much better. Not a fan of Exynos.
@@joshl.7684 No, it isn't. I've had the A52S for 2,5 years and I can tell you that the Exynos 1480 IS much better than the Snapdragon 778G.
No 3.5mm...,chipset exynos vs snapdragon 778?just downgrade bro
watching on my a55. i love it so much! so buttery smooth, battery lasts long, and it plays my games well on medium settings
But it seams that it has HUGE PROBLEM.
Now we all can see that there is no capital letters on stock keyboard. It's one of the most elementary thing in 20 and 21st century.
Shame on SAMSUNG and fanboys like you!!!
ما مدى جودة صوته ؟ وهل صحيح ان السماعة السفلية اعلى من السماعة العلوية ؟
Really
Just bought it yesterday after watching videos of soo many other phones ....sure makes you crazy....soo many brands.... models....,😑
@@zuti071If that even is true (provide a source) then they would be able to fix with with a simple softare update.
Watching this on my Galaxy A55! I'm loving this phone ever since I got it. Looks and feels like a premium flagship phone. The bezels are fine with me, no big deal. Camera wise, it's kind'a like iPhones now, it's getting natural both front and back. Smooth video recording, battery last long, performance is well balanced since I'm not a gamer. This phone is perfect for those who really want something premium and a very well-balanced smartphone.
Is the finger print sensor working fine ? I read it’s slow and sometimes it doesn’t read at all ?
@@sachinprajapati4537 mine is fine
@sachinprajapati4537 mine is working just fine. Sometimes it depends if your fingers are sweety or in some condition that's why it doesn't work well but overall, it's much faster and accurate than my old phone (Galaxy A71). And for sure, Samsung will release an update regarding some issues (if any) since the phone has just released, just like any other phones.
Why are you watching a review of a phone you have already bought?
"Looks and feels like a premium flagship phone", then proceed to have the huge black UNEVEN bezel at the front.
People these days, really say any shit to justify their buying - "Choice-supportive bias"
i've been using my a50 since 2019... 5 years and still perfect, battery life to use the entire day and recharge only at night, everything runs smoothly and delicious, the only 3 things thats going to make me take the a55, cameras, updates, water resistence. Love that i can say that my a50 is still 100% usable and im happy to get the new child in the market. a55
same here I have samsung a50 for the last 5 years now I am going to get a55 only because of camera .
Same brothers 🤝🏻 using A50 2019 since May 2019 and InshaAllah going to buy A55 once launched in Pakistan.
A50 user too.
Gonna upgrade to a55.
A50 user since 2019. Now we need to upgrade
A54 in 2023 was such a default benchmark for midrange phones, I love it even though I also had the chance to use S23 reguler, S23 Ultra and also S23 FE. Yesterday I use S24+ for around 3 weeks before selling it and decide to get A55 12/256gb. What a great phone, much better than A54 aside from the screen size (wider makes it harder for one handed use). Even more so because I get A55 12/256gb for under USD 400. Samsung prices on discounter in Indonesia tend to undercut the SRP almost up to USD 100.
GSM arena website is really great on phone feature detailing, this channel is great too but it feels like a read out of the phone specs on the website, it would be interesting if the channel could explore a more real life usage of the phones , great review though
The page reviews are really in depth
Glad to know exynos is not getting thermally throttled. Seems like Samsung's new tech is working and it reduces the temperature.good work❤
Exynos mid-range chips have always been okay. Their flagship Exynos has failed in terms of thermals and efficiency. This is obvious if you think about it, as it is very easy to control heat on a weaker, less-performant chip.
@@andyH_England snapdragon 888 had heating issues. Dimensity 9300 now has heating issues.what i see is the direction exynos is going and it is the right path. Drastic improvement over previous version. and i honestly haven't seen the 'drastic' failure anywhere ( i've seen many videos, there's not much difference, nothing drastic) . Yes ,they are below the counterparts ,but not so far😃
@@pranavjs It is on its third version to finally be...still behind the 4nm TSMC Snapdragone! We are on 3nm next year and by all accounts it looks like apart from poor yield, around 50% which is uneconomical, there is no sign heat has been cured. There are rumours it may wait for 2nm as a last ditch to save Samsun Fabs as a flagship smartphone chip maker!
Great Phone Thank you To Review
A55 5g: *exists*
A52s 5g: "finally, a worthy opponent"
The only thing I regret about my A52s is that I didn't get a couple of them lol. They were 160$/€ new no lock bc A53 was just announced ;)
Actually, I'm not sure, but I do have some doubts about whether it's a good deal to go for a mid-range product. I always think it might be better to buy a refurbished or second-hand phone that is two or three years old, or even older, which would cost the same price, but at least you're getting something that was considered high-end at the time.
For the same price, you get something that is mid-range-is it really worth it after all?
Wouldn't it be better to spend 500 euros on an old flagship that was top-of-the-line at its release rather than spending the same amount on something mediocre that you will keep for several years?
That's the question I'm pondering.
I'm planning to buy this phone... thank you for sharing this video
good job GSMArena your comprehensive review has a lot of details
Still using galaxy A50 from launch 2019. Still running well except the degraded battery life.
Same here👍
@@hemgk27 how has yours been? Mine the battery now lasts like 6hrs screen on time and its lags it sometimes.
Same here. I'm planning to buy a new phone since my a50 battery is dying😭

A34 here and I can say, it's a challenger

So glad the "I'm wide awake" 🎶 speaker test is back! Woohoo
Watchin with my galaxy A55
I've been waiting for this review! I am planning on buying the A55 in Navy Blue. I have the A54 and love it! :)
If you have A54 then it doesn't make sense to buy A55. Except if you are on a yearly switch cycle.
I'm using the A52s and still I don't feel a need to upgrade.
Me too! same situation
Best to stay with A54.
沒用過A55的人才會想要A54😂
I'm thinking of upgrading from A53 but in two minds... A54 doesn't seem worth it.
This will probably be the most sold smartphone of the year
No. It'll be the A15 5G.
@@pulaktrivedi9743 Maybe, it is indeed a strong contender. A lot cheaper. Although the a55 tends to get cheaper in the next months as it was with the a54
I doubt it.
Probably not since it isn't launching officially in the us
@@Hikari_to_YuriIndia and Pakistan can make that possible. There's latin america and so on. The world is not only USA
Excellent review. Thanks 😊🙏
everytime i want to watch a phone review. u are my choice. u r somewhat looks filipino., even you deliver ur english is like filipino., kudos.,
May resemblance ni Paulo Avelino.
He is Bulgarian 🇧🇬
In rural areas, where connectivity is suspect, it makes sense to carry a 1TB storage card in-phone. I can buy 3 of these for less than one S24 Ultra. And, as I work far from "civilization" it is just a great solution as my trusty old A31.
Why is auto-brightness higher than manual brightness? I've always wondered about that
I used A55 for 2 weeks, the same battery draining issue due to Exynos system. Then i sold it and bought A34 with dimensity soc for better battery output
if samsung really wanted too they could make the bezels symmetrical without spending more, unfortunately they dont think highly of us consumers so we might as well skip it
Great video! I'm a proud owner of A55.
Which version of GCAM are you recommending please?
Thank you.
A54: new design
A55: perfecting the design
A56: changes to the camera
Perfecting the design? The bezels are from 2019
@@Pawcio2115 The bezels were thicker in 2019.
@@MrSandman96 have you ever seen a Galaxy S10 or a Note 10?
@Pawcio2115 I own the A54, but fun fact, they sold a lot of it despite the bezels. Those who own the A54 are aware of the shitty huge non symmetrical bezels, but the phone just looks good.
The bezels were just there on purpose. The side bezels on the A50 is way slimmer, so it has nothing to do with cost. They just made it bigger so that they can make it slimmer in the future. Marketing.
For me, the A55 metal frame and the victus+ protection are enough for me. I don't care about the camera.
By the way, I never use a pouch and screen protector.
@@Pawcio2115well they weren't midrange phones? so what
🎉🎉 I'm running A52 5G. I think I'm going with S23 f. E!
Coming from an A50 user, I'm glad I didn't buy the A54 last year.
has an SD CARD A MUST BUY!!!
Totally unrelated: you have beautiful hands 😍
Great review 👍
You've been to Sofia, I see! The first three pictures are near my home!
GSMArena is located there
Every time I look for the specs of this phone I get different results. The A55 looks more durable than the M55. I bought the M55 but I must admit the A55 looks nice.
A55 is impressive. I think we didn't get it here in the States due to the S23 FE.
Exactly right. They want u to buy 23FE.
23fe is a great phone if it comes with a powerbank
Does it have Dolby Atmos? Or any other decent 3d sound output software
Hopefully they change things up properly with the A56 next year
I will purchasing this Galaxy A55 5G to replace my 5 years old Galaxy A50 ❤❤❤
same!🎉
Same here
Lol why are there so many of us replacing A50 this year? Same
Same here I am planning too
Same ❤
I got an a54 5g and it lags so bad. I'm glad Samsung made the processor so much better than in the a54.
Looking good, Will. Jacked AF.
Agree that A55 is pricey, that's why if it's applicable in your country, utilize the trade-in promo so that the price becomes much less than the original SRP. 😊
Trade in is a scam 😂
I am once again asking for a Oppo find x7 ultra review GSMArena!!
Note this one on my list🗣
Any camera improvements over A52s 5g ?
Please help I dont know if I shoud get the s23 plus or this
That AMD GPU is doing wonders for this year's Exynos. SD is still the top processor out there, but Samsung is heading in the right direction when it comes to Exynos
can you do a video comparing it to my galaxy a54🥺🥺
Watching this video on my S23 FE. Before, I really had a hard time deciding which phone to get, but now I think I made the right decision. I hope they can make a comparison video for the A55 and S23 FE.
S23 FE is better in everything except for battery life
@@MegaLoquendo2000 yeah. And thermal management
And no SD card slot, and $ 200 more expensive, and SMALLER SCREEN
S23 FE is a beast! With the new Galaxy A.I it's insane how thoughtful the phone has become!
Always good review with attention to details 👍🏼
I'm gonna take my own guess about the non u.s. market decision, probably because of the FE series. Here in the U.S. the FE's like s20 fe & s21 fe just continued to sell better here than the a51, a52 & a53 during those years previously and that stayed the same while the a54 came out, and then when the s23 fe released last fall after the a54, it shot the sales downward for the a54 immediately after. Which to me just personally does kinda make sense, the price point they throw them both out for like the a54 vs s23 fe, there's not much of a $ difference between the two but they're both considerably expensive at around 400-450$ for the a54 and just another 100$ or so for the s23 FE, and from there gotta consider what more or less are you getting from each? And just for an extra 100$, you really actually are getting considerably a decent amount more with the s23 fe from the muchhh better Exynos & speed + performance (Exynos starting with the s23 fe is actually where it starts performing amazingly like the s24, keep the argument to yourself) much better cameras and recording quality going much higher and better stabilization, the better looking dynamic amoled x2 screen like the s23 has, plus the better processor & hardware makes the 120hz feel & look alot smoother everywhere using the phone compared to the a54's 120hz having some light skipping & hiccups while running thru apps. etc etc. I agree myself that the FE has stayed as the better buy at it's higher midrange price difference a50 series vs the FE each year. So I guess Samsung might've made that decision here to see how that changes the sales output in the end this time
Because US gets the Snapdragon while the rest of the world gets a turd....and from the 2 options A55 and S23 FE I rather have the other not so turd (A55)
In South Africa 🇿🇦, we get the entire S series + FE + A series phones, just not the A75.
Galaxy A55 based on my own is good at everything but master of nothing. This phone is an all rounder not the best but balance. iP67, good display quality, descent camera, good audio, good performance, 5 years software support and Security Knox.
What would you recommend then, bro?
@@fscoizman I'd say the bro actually recommended A55, lol
@@srjhr That's true XD, dunno what was I thinking when I commented
@@fscoizman haha, it happens. **farts**
Make a video on Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G pls!!!
I still have the a52 and i dont think i will be upgrading anytime soon...
I returned my s24+ for the A55. The camera is so much better! Not blurry, grainy and it actually focuses!
Really,??? So you mean to say A55 is way better than the S - series??
They will be readily available on Ebay....
Charging data is interesting. This has 25w just like the A35 but takes 20 minutes less to achieve a full charge according to the tests. How do they achieve this - just better optimisation? I always counted Redmi's 33w charge speed as a pro against Samsung but it seems the 25w still achieves better numbers.
this phone STILL give u a 'virtual proximity sensor' which not actual sensor. Other companies can put actual sensor in their phones even low end, mid range.
Beware of the consistency of the screen off function when u answer phones.
I like this phone, if the price is right✌️, is it value for your money🤔🤔🤔
1:35 Tirana 🔥 i got this device after using Poco x3 nfc for a 2.5 years and A55 is a great device 🫡
Question: what is the storage speed of this phone? 😁

Pleasant arms too. 🤤
Samsung A55 5G ❤🔥🔥🔥 I love it.
What can this do what my A71 can't?
Dude better reveal his workout routine.
Hi Gsmarena Can you make a video by putting S23 FE and A55 Head to Head
Hey guys, I'm looking for phone. And A55 is really attractive to me to enter Samsung Ecosystem. Other than slow charging, how's the camera quality and battery? Or should I get other phone? I'm thinking of this range of price. If it helps, I usually prioritise camera performance, rather than gaming.
Available in USA Amazon has it at $411.00
got A55 als upgrade for me als my old S7 so old :P to bad it dont got wireless charging like my old S7 realy donno why thy cant add it to A55 when super old S7 got it
order Spigen Optik Armor and get it tomorrow
So if this isnt available to buy in the US. If i buy it off amazon or ebay international, can it still work in the US?
i have OPPO Reno2 from 2019 and its cameras are way ahead of its time, how would it compared to this phone? do you think its worth the upgrade? im pretty much just looking for a better camera midranger, or i could opt to a older flagship as well
I have an Oppo Reno 10×Zoom from the same year still taking great photos but yeah I get it. If you're looking for something better & wish to stay with Oppo I think an older flagship like you suggested would be a great upgrade.
May I suggest an Oppo Find X2 pro or X3 pro both of which take exceptional photos still exceeding nearly all the latest devices apart from the latest flagships of course. An X5 pro would be even better if your budget allows & yes I've owned all of them 😊
The Ultra series is the only phone i would get from the Samsung portfolio, the rest is too lazy design & specs wise. Having said that, I find that my moms old A22 Amoled panel is much better than my daily use Find X2 pro but my old Nord beats them all😂 so am conflicted
This is the perfect phone to play Red Dead Redemption 2 at 8k 240fps wow 😍
Good to know that people look at bezel rather than the screen
If they do release this in latino markets but not USA I think its absence is down to us latinos importing them thru amazon and other online retailers, cause they usually become cheaper in the US pretty quick, so you save up to 40% if you purchase the US version thru online markets instead of buying thru the mexican samsung store or a carrier.
Its the same reason they tried to block those phones from being used last year with the whole guarantee and mexican homologation laws crap they pulled until the gov was like "hey that was not why I did those for XD"
What is this first FPS game?
2:25 The speaker sounds better than in the recording.
I've just bought a galaxy a55. And I think I hate it😢.
I bought the A5 (2017version) back in 2018 (the stone ages) and it has served me exceedingly well until recently when it reached the end of its life and the hardware started falling apart. So I got the A55 as an upgrade hoping to use it for as long as possible considering how long the A5 lasted with me. However, the a55 ironically feels more like a downgrade. Some features I'm too used to on my old A5 are either non existent or come in a less good way. Most importantly:
- screen splitting: now I need two hands and two fingers to drag from the bottom of the screen, switching from app to app in split mode is difficult without closing one of the windows. On my old phone I just long press the left button and press it again to switch apps. Very simple. I don't understand why all the complications on this one.
- widgets: I prefer simple widgets, literally white on transparent background, as I do not like to have many colours on my display (overstimulating). The widgets on this phone are just bad. Not many customization options, no font personalisation, too cartoonish styles, simply unusable and impossible to find a style I like. I'm stuck with either ugly widgets or no widgets, which is surprising since I use the same apps on my old phone. I guess apps changed their widgets to fit newer android versions but didn't keep a library of older ones... 😢
- it doesn't have a headphone jack 🤦♀️ it didn't even occur to me to check for it before buying because I took it as a matter of course... I wouldn't have bought it if i knew.
I'm not sure I'm going to keep this phone for long. It's pretty and all but when it comes to using it, it is problematic.
Just kidding. I'm poor, I'm stuck with it for years to come. When I think I was so happy to buy it because I really enjoyed having the A5...
Edit: I just found out it has no fm radio. Not that I need it everyday but it's a nice thing to have when offline. I thought all phones come with one, didn't even cross my mind to check forbit before buying.
Also, typing isn't smooth in this phone. There's an annoying delay to writing and deleting. Why do I have problems with a phone I bought in 2024 made in 2024, that I never had with an older version of the same phone that I bought in 2018 made in 2017 that was much cheaper?
are you sure youre getting the original one? sounds like youve either got yourself a defective one or you accidentally bought a knock off.
@ssllsg9439 yep, I got the original one. As original as it gets. Official store and warranty and all.
FIRST THE A73 DOESN'T COME TO CANADA, NOW THE A55 DOESN'T?!
