A new dark fantasy Three Kingdoms action RPG from Team NINJA, the developers of Nioh.
184 AD, Later Han Dynasty China. The land is overcome by chaos and destruction. The imperial dynasty that prospered for many years is now about to collapse.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is a dramatic, action-packed story of a nameless militia soldier fighting for survival in a dark fantasy version of the Later Han Dynasty where demons plague the Three Kingdoms. Players fight off deadly creatures and enemy soldiers using swordplay based on the Chinese martial arts, attempting to overcome the odds by awakening the true power from within.
Wo Long refers to a crouching dragon, and also refers to a hero or person of greatness who is not yet known. This is the story of officers, who will later become heroes, during their ‘unknown’ period, and also the story of a protagonist’s rise from being a ‘nobody’.
A dark fantasy set during the chaotic Three Kingdoms period, the narrative vividly tells the tale of a militia soldier’s strenuous fight for survival during a Later Han Dynasty infested with demons. It’s madness in the Three Kingdoms like never before!

Sucks in comparison to nioh. Can’t dismember or knock enemies off of ledges. No stances or skill trees
@@jinsakai409 You must be blind then. I'm not talking about what's clearly new in this NEW game or different, I'm talking about how you can look at the game and see its roots. The second I locked on a enemy I recognized the same lock-on symbol..shit, even Nioh 1s protagonist is a preset face 😂.
This game probably wouldn't exist if it wasn't for nioh.
I do have a question though, have you played through nioh 1? Because if you have than you'd see it in this game
@@TommasoFirmini Exactly. They were able to just quickly make it from Nioh a game that was in development for over a decade. Nioh 2 added the character creator and both Dynasty Warriors and now Wo Long have used the same character creator and they put all the hairstyles in Wildhearts as well. Its a great character creator but they dumbed down everything else and censored the gore for china. Stop acting like its so damn new like its this ground breaking new Ip just because the Bloodborne guy helped. It isn't that good and is mostly negative on steam. I played for 16 hrs already. You can't even push people off a ledge like in Nioh 1 and 2. And don't get me started on the awful hud
I agree! I definitely feel the Nioh in this game! I loved Nioh and so far I love this game! Its awesome. But its a bit confusing without the weapon skill trees. Seems like all weapon arts are rng.. but im sure that changes in the later stages of the game.

Hi Cowboy, thanks for this Let's Play series. I've arrived after having just finished watching your Lords of the Fallen 2014 Let's Play, which helped me beat the game. Thought I'd pick this up while I wait for the new LotF to come on sale. It's fantastic. Very fast, but doable once you work out the timing of manouvers. Thanks for sharing.

Being a huge Dynasty warrior fan, the one thing I'm already glad this game has done is make Zhang Bao And Liang Meaningful. By what I mean in all the DW games there normally generic shaman/Priest generals. Just yellow robes. Here at least they are unique. Feel like they've been over looked for too long on the list of character who shoulld have unique models

It still looks decent but some skyboxes aren't the best and you can see the polygon fidelity is alright but gameplay is tight And smooth with no frame drops at all 🤘🏽 7/10 for visually but 10/10 for everything else for the Xbox one version

Im the same. Get the first phase done quickly. Second phase I mess up. Been trying for 4 days. I watched cowboys tips video. Hopefully it clicks if not its going to be short game for me. Stuck on opening boss. Good luck hope manage to beat him 🤞
@@davenunn3333 once he’s down to half health in phase 2 you can triangle circle to divine beast end the fight if you are finding him tough
@@TheMrbc74 Hi im really struggling. I can't judge his movement. Ive been watching videos. People make it look so easy. I get him down a little. Then go to bits. Trying different builds in demo. When game comes I'll hope for the best. As say might be short game if I can't beat him 🙈
@@davenunn3333 if your struggling on parry timing cowboy recommends holding block and tapping parry from your block, then if you miss the parry you still get the block. basically this tutorial boss wants you to learn to parry
I spent an hour on him and watching CB beat him without even using the divine beast made me upset. 😂

Not only is this game based off of history, the stuff about alchemy and the five phases is from the Daoist traditions of spiritual development, of course they put a fantasy spin on all of it but team ninja always does a pretty good job making a solid game and they try to stay true to things.
Ninja gaiden has some accurate buddhist iconography also.

My biggest issue with the game and demo was the lacking graphics compared to the Nioh 2 remaster. But i found that by jacking up the HDR contrast and playing with the brightness you can get it much closer. Also play it on the increased resolution if you have a PS5 or Xbox Series, as it doesnt affect the framerate really at all, as far as I noticed.
Yeah I noticed that also with graphic mode.
Haven't been this excited for a game since Elden Ring. I love Nioh and Sekiro, so this is going to kick ass. I'll have to put Wild Hearts down for a second to play this like crazy.

Fun fact! That one armour named "Baihu" means "white tiger". I doubt there is any relation, but there was actually a bandit in the southlands named Yan Baihu "White-Tiger Yan". He lead a confederation of bandits, refugees from the war-torn and famine-stricken north and remnants of the Shan Yue peoples. He would come into conflict with Sun Ce, Sun Jian's eldest son.
The zh in Zhuque should be somewhere between a ch and a j, and the q should be closer to a ch.

yeah it has to do with the constellations. Baihu - White Tiger, Zhuque - Vermillion Bird, Qinglong - Azure Dragon, Xuanwu - Black Tortoise
We do see Sun Ce in this so maybe we help him conquer the Southlands and we slap Yan Baihu around

This game is like Nioh 2 which I couldn't get pass the mid boss. ( I beat all 3 dark souls, Demon souls and Blood borne . ) So it's not like I'm a suck ass player I just can't handle the stress and rage it brings. So I'm just going to watch cowboy play it.

Hi Cowboy, your playthroughs and let’s plays are great! I was just curious why do you prefer to use gamepad and play with it on pc rather than just using your console instead. I noticed both a cursor in the main menu of the game and a controller buttons showing up in action. Tell me if im wrong. Thanks 😅

Also apparently each status applied reduces resistance to another element and poison reduces resistance to fire
There's an item on a roof on the left just before the dude that teaches you how to deflect. Anyone been able to get it or is this a backtrack later to pick it up sort of thing?

Do these games come out with walkthrough books anymore? I remember using them all the time as I played Ninja gaiden don’t remember how I got the book but I think it came with it when I bought it.
the final demo was amazing but, i will ask as of March 2nd we are already getting negative reviews and the game isn't even out yet. Are those just complainers that hate the mouse and keyboard controls? If so then they need to suck it up and get a control because not all games are meant to be played with mouse and keyboard especially games like Nioh and now Wo Long

Hey Cowboy, your Bloodborne walkthrough helped me immensely and am excited for Wo Long. As a Dynasty Warriors fan growing up myself, I'm going to watch the playthrough a bit later for a no spoiler run. Since you played DW too, who was your favorite/go-to characters? I always preferred Shu characters, especially Zhang Fei, Ma Chao, and Pang Tong.
Been playing the Demo like a bat out of hell, gotta wait until 6pm before I can play the full game. Other that a few frame skips during the demo, and long ass loading screens on the one s, it’s been really nice to play.
Tip for the future. Change your location to New Zealand on your Xbox. I started playing it 13 hours early.

Your moral number affects your ability to cast magic. If the number is lower than the required number to cast the spell, it will not allow you to cast it until that number is above the required number again.

Is Xing Cai in the game? That's all I really care about. I'm already sold, but may wait to complete Resident Evil 4 first unless Xing Cai is in.
Xing Cai is a fictional combination of Zhang Fei’s two daughters. She is Dynasty Warriors exclusive. And anyway she shows up a lot later in the timeline so I don’t think she would be in the base game. Maybe dlc
that mask reminds me of Ma Chao or either Wei Yan. and to be a little nitpicky, Qi is pronounced with the ch in mandarin. but this game does look incredible, definitely in my must buy list

@@tiredfox77 Not sure how far into the 3 Kingdoms era the game will go, but the first 2 campaign were always good vs evil scenarios in a sense. So Yellow Turban/Dong Zhou campaign are guaranteed.
